Pretty much that. I have been building my latest station in .23, Alcatraz, without using ANY RCS. The first four parts were done with the help of modifying the orientation of the target, this latest video was done without even that, and twice in one launch. Granted, the docking parts were rather small and lightweight, but with enough patience, the same method could be applied to even the largest of modules. I find it to be less complex than using RCS. There's no extra directions of acceleration to be aware of, just one engine, two docking ports, and a bottle of good scotch. I hope you guys enjoy it.

I'd try to sabotage the mission even if I was selected. I think the human race deserves to go extinct. Especially before it gets a chance to infect the rest of the galaxy.

I sent out a multi-planet cruiser to gather science, and had a mobile processing lab, but when I put bill and bob in them, they sort of -disappeared- from the crew manifest, and Jeb was the only one left that I could IVA or EVA in the bottom right of the staging screen. Upon returning, I couldn't work out how to transfer the guys back out of the lab. What's the deal?

What do you thinks is at the center of our galaxy?

It's a little hard to say, as time from entering atmosphere to hitting the deck is about 2.5 seconds. Reentry effects occur while I'm still seeing blue, but then the camera angle changes and by the time it's swung around, impact at over a km/s. I figure it is a rendering issue, like you've said, as it spreads out and engulfs the planet at about the same speed as my craft is going. It's replicable (With hacked fuel) and I've yet to try it on any other bodies with atmosphere.
-
This time I caught it mid-shift. At 150km/s.
-
One tiny probe core, one tiny rockomax engine, and one tiny solar panel. Straight up to 100 000km, then accelerate straight back down. I just wanted to see what happened.
-
Kethane is installed, but not in use. Thats all.
-
So I was approaching reentry in kerbins atmosphere at 75km/s (don't ask) and all of a sudden, it turned light blue. Anyone else seen this? PS: I hit the deck at 987m/s, new record. Woo.

I used to have a buttload of rovers, rover parts, upper stage failed tests, general shrapnel and unexploded bombs around my KSC and on the roofs of buildings. I also had a small museum of my favorite aircraft partially fueled parked on the grassy plains south of KSC, grouped close together. I started a new career save, and haven't rebuilt my museum (or debris field) yet.

The first time I sent a dude to Eve, I had no idea how thick the atmo was and the strength of the gravity. My first rescue vehicle was pitiful, and I spent my ascent and transfer engines just trying to ascend, failed, and parachuted back down. My second rescue vessel broke apart on descent. My third rescue vessel broke apart as I was orienting it for a circ burn. So close. The guy survived that crash too, and is still there on Eve. I've assigned him to be a permanent colonist now. By the way, his name is Jeb.

I just rescued him from the mun. I sent him there on my second flight in the latest career mode in a reaction wheel powered landing gear rover, and only now got around to bringing him home.

It might not be the most elegant of solutions, but on some of my aircraft, like a small, heavily loaded Fighter-Bomber I made, I've used a couple of seperatrons stuck to the nose and nozzeled towards the ground. Single use only, but it turns a full runway length takeoff into a 1/3rd runway takeoff.

Looks like the curse of Duna is doing it's thing all around, I had a lander-fall-down error too, landing on one of duna's poles. It is now a base...
-
Agree or disagree? All my probes ever do is gather science, transmit it home, and then use the last of their fuel to become an impactor on one body or another. As for Kerbals in career mode, I haven't lost one yet, and they have gone as far as moho.
-
Obviously Mun, minmus, laythe, duna and ike are great places to build bases, but considering what you've seen out there, what would be the worst/least useful/hardest place to put a modular base? Pol would suck pretty bad, it's small, tricky to get to, and finding a flat surface there is like trying to find a leprechaun.

Here's a bird I made for this challenge, Called Kaylee I Top speed was just over 2200. All stock, manned, and made from scratch by me. -
I have frequently forgotten the chutes, but sadly, I've also done the inverse in the early days and brought chutes to minmus, deployed them during descent, and was appalled at their shabby performance.

Hi! My entrant is Son Of Omniball, which I was encouraged to enter into the comp by my good friend, TheAwer.
