  1. I don't post often, well let's be honest I think it's been a year since I've eveb played KSP but that's my problem... Anyway, if you happen to be in London this autumn, the Science Museum is hosting a Cosmonauts exhibition, featuring some of the milestones of the Soviet space programme. Highlights (for me) were an experimental ejector seat for cosmo-dogs and an amazing feature on Valentina Kerman... er Tereshkova... including her actual Vostok capsule, as well as Yuri (of course). \i wonder is Yuri the Russian for Jebediah? For balance, if you're interested, the Apollo 10 Command Module is downstairs, along with a LEM mock-up and loads of other Western space science. It's just rare to see the Russian stuff over here. It's about £15 to get in, but as someone who coughed up, it's well worth it...if only for the space toilet and the zero gravity shower.... Fly (as Scott Manley would say) Safe...
  2. I've been trying to figure out where and how to add the docking ring to the re-docking trunk, but though it looks ok, I can never get it to successfully dock. Can anyone help?
  3. It would be great for there to be female kerbonaughts. The kerbal government has never been good on the equality front.
  4. There's a mod called KAS Kerbal Attachment System that should serve your needs. Esp search youtube for the kerbal-go-round video. It's crazy!
  5. Yep, found it... it might even have been fall-back shaders ... but I found it the next crater along, 2.4km away. I'll leave it to following explorers to get there. Unfortunately, Bill's driving means my rover no longer has any solar panels, so they may be walking back to the lander... d'oh!
  6. Maybe I got the location wrong then. I landed at 0 41 15 N by 23 26 00 E, the coords of the original landing according to Wikipedia. (and only 36 metres from where the KSP wiki says it is). I took a rover and couldn't find it. Now it may be graphics settings (though I have everything set to maximum), but now I am really confused. It's been there before!
  7. Maybe, but we're still in Beta and Sandbox Mode. It was a nice thing for people to see when they land there. Sad to see it go, esp on the anniversary of the landing.
  8. I just landed at tranquility base, and couldn't find the memorial! This makes me sad.
  9. Actually I do use these things and have made awesome stuff. But in the last week, I've been getting breakages everywhere, with ships and stations that worked perfectly before. So I'm back to basics now til the update and we shall see.
  10. Glad to be here on these forums, and looking forward to learning how to not have my space stations fall apart when I'm not looking. Either that of get some anti-kraken lasers, at least...
  11. If you like space opera, then Banks is (was) one of the best. I wouldn't say Phlebas is his finest work, but it is a good introduction to the Culture. Stick with them and you should find yourself rewarded.
  12. Something for me to do tomorrow, since I'd forgotten. I'm one of (probably very few of) you who actually saw the original live - although I was a tiny baby of about 10 months old and my parents got me up to see so I don't really remember much of it, if any. So many re-runs since and the memories merge into one another... I'll give something a go. Been a while since I used all stock parts. Personally, I blame Jeb! Before kethane, everything was ok, then Jeb - it would have to be Jeb wouldn't it - came up with a way to turn kethane into kethanol, and make keer. That was bad enough, but kethamphetamine and krystal keth were the end... Now all I have to remember is explosions... and the struts... oh the struts...
  13. SABRE may do it in RL. But since nobody knows yet what the ISP etc will be, any KSP version is guessing.
  14. I have a refueling station in Minmus orbit, and a Kethane refinery on the surface. Of course, it'll only last so long as the Kethane does.
