As a Tier 1 material you can use Cast iron. Which is Hard but fragile in bending, pulling and other material using. Then some Aluminium, like Dural. Then Steel (if you are not familiar with Steel properties: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel ). Etc. etc. Wish you luck

This is nice work! You should consider repainting struts on some normal color because I cant imagine using purple struts on my serious looking ship And materials are... well... just stupid (sorry for that). But why should I even want to use Gold or Iron or (OMG) Uranium? Make Aluminium alloys, Steel, Hardsteel, Nitridized steel, Titanium alloys, Carbon, Magnesium alloys. And then some Scifi materials like Adamantium, Karbon (Special doubletime carbon composite) and other. Use more reality. Then its goin to be my Number One strut mode because I desparate to use KW Rocketry only for Struts

Why are more people Right-handed than Left-handed?
Khalashnikovf replied to ZedNova's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Yep, you are correct sir. It is that simple. We were just taught to grab pen with our right hand because that is the way it is common. Well, at least it was common in 1968 to 1989 in Czechoslovakia. Yep, Communist forced everyone to be right handed because left handed person was crippled and useless so he would ended only on some more simple job but no high school or even college. yeah, its good to live after communist so I can be left handed -
Would be nice to add links on those require mods. Just cant find that EPL whatever thing

Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Ok, here is my legit try to reach Spy engineering. Evil engineering will need better PC It is visible from images that I was even much lower than on shot, but this on is only confirmable with distance. Score: (2000*Mt + 0.5*Am + 0.3*Ds)*(Ap/Pe)*C = (2000*0.83 + 0.5*38,409 + 0.3*38400)*(75,045/74,740)*1 = 32,517 points. -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Nice scoring. But - your 88-88 are not pointing directly same way for those photos to make. So, work this out pls and you will be master engineer, for now at least. EIDT: Ok, so I kinda had to completely overdone rules and scoring. It is now more clear and less exploitable than before. Also added two separated categories so we can have more fun with it -

I was searching with no results .... I tried a dozens of methods, but no ID it self ... darn -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
But you made me thinking about one nice thing. Better score if your Inclination of spying will be different from a 0. Will do the math to implement it into equation EDIT: Too bad its not possible to measure inclinaton without some mods. So this is off... (Too bad, I got some pretty equation improvement). BTW: Off topic. I just cant find anywhere how to import imgur into forum :-/. Any help pls? -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
You made some nice photo story. But it missing finish point of the challenge (actual spying) and you 88-88s are not prepared to be aiming on the ground both at once. So you just need to repair that and than do that low profile fly over KSC. -
Recreate the alien ship from Independence Day
Khalashnikovf replied to Deadpangod3's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
100: each km above the ground it floats You do realize this thing make ppl A LOT of point right? especially when you enabled any hack gravity mod. Altitude like 11 400 000 m above kerbin will really MUCH points. -

Darn, bad quality photos But ok Next time better pictures like mine looks like -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Dont forget to aim your 88-88 Communotron on the ground too. The whole point of this "mission" is to take photos of ground, not Space So your satellite will probably need a little reconstructing otherwise (88-88 simulates here Camera as it was said - I will this make more clearer in topic) -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Watch out. THE SATELLITE it self needs to be stock, so if you ascent rocket with MechJeb its our call (I did that too) But after that was my satellite pure as Squad wanted it to be. -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Looks good. You only missing shot of satellite mass it self (you have it with docking station). Too bad for not having distance on shot too. This challenge might be pretty easy but that was my intent. Everyone can participate and master their spying skill for maximum. EDIT: Your score is actually 39 723 after rounding up. (Its not 0.95 and then again 0.99, but combined into 0.94) And your satellite is not pointing at KSC but into space. So you made nice photos of Space. Well, I guess I cant count this one. Make those photo in better way. You can see it easy enough so just make it right -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Ok, it will be awarded once enough people says its Cool And enough means at least 10, hm? And people means anyone who write something in here. I dont care if you bring some friends like it is some facebook content for most beautiful puppy. Your job -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
And thats why "Coolness" needs to be submitted by people So its kinda like Ultra premium reward for extraordinary stuff. -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Well, since there is required screen with mass of satellite before operation... no And like it has been said. It is challenge based on real life spying in Cold War especially where was satellite with not such great resolution like nowadays. EDIT: And that is exactly right. Lesser score means better Spying. -
Kerbin Low Orbiting Spy Satellite - KLOSS
Khalashnikovf replied to Khalashnikovf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Is this challange really so boring and no competing that people are just no interested in it? Pls someone write notes what you think about it, thx -
More useful Kerbals
Khalashnikovf replied to JRF2k's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
+1 for Spare parts module +1 for Repackable parachute -
ISA MaptSat - More science = more fun Kethane Pack - If Kethane is not last material and its scan method will change into ISA scan style with searching for some hints of methane and then surface probing and collecting samples = OK Ion cross crew support - It is obvious isn't it = Kerbals needs to breath something so it needs to be in there Rocketry - Not necesseraly in state it is but for sure bigger sizes of parts which KSP needs pretty bad MechJeb"like" - Not directly MechJeb at first, but some primitive version of programable like kOS mod which you could develop into something like MechJeb

Make a really low orbiting spy satellite to take "photos" of for example KSC. So it obviously needs to be fueled to return safely on orbit to be able remake this operation again (after refueling). Hey malkuth, so as I said previously Im working on my own Mission pack and I just got stucked at this my peace of work. Mission { name = MOM - Part 1 (Katia 1) description = MOM. It is not only sound which kerbonaut will scream when launched into space but it also stands for Mission Orbiting Kerbonauts. But first: We need to find out how does low gravity affects a living body. And once Kerbalkind never learned to test anything on animals (really, they even tested new medicine, submarines, etc on them self) we have to use Kerbonauts. reward = 18000 category = ORBIT, MANNED packageOrder = 8 requiresMission = OOF - Part 4 (Kamzyk 3) SubMissionGoal { description = Launch a rocket to at least 100 000m. reward = 5000 OrbitGoal { body = Kerbin minAltitude = 100000 maxAltitude = 120000 maxVerticalSpeed = 10 crewCount = 1 } } SubMissionGoal { description = Once we have no animal on our planet, Kerbonauts are expensive, especially for their Insurances, bring our hero back to home at KSC! reward = 2000 LandingGoal { body = Kerbin splashedValid = false minLatitude = -1 maxLatitude = 1 minLongitude = -78 maxLongitude = -74 crewCount = 1 } } } I set Hiring of Kerbals for 10000 and Insurance for 30000. From unknown reason (to me) once I started the prelaunch screen the cost of vessel disappeared and I just only earned money for that goals. Is there any reason for it inside my code or was it some kind of bug? Thanks again for good job, already applied that tip with maxPart (did not even thought about it - so obvious )
