  1. Seid ihr das Essen? Nein, wir sind der Kerbal!
  2. I flew both planes simultaneously simply by lowering their throttle to a little more than a hover and made sure to keep them within rendering distance.
  3. Jeb and Bill decided to take their new VTOL planes out for a good flight, so I decided to take a few decent screenshots. So here they are on the helipad prepping for takeoff. Mid-flight Returning after performing a very successful test flight. And a final approach. Landed! Jeb proceeds to look off into the distance, getting a few.. uh.. ideas. Then, after making a bet with Bill that he could fly under the arch at R&D, this happened... Hope you enjoyed!
  4. Didn't see part one? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/67726-Spaceplane-to-Laythe%21-Part-1 When I left off, I had put the plane in orbit around Laythe along with it's pilot, Sheldon Kerman. It obviously didn't have enough to land and return to orbit, so I decided to launch a fuel silo in order to accomplish this. And we're docked! You know, after entering kerbin orbit, the burn for Jool, correctional maneuvers and Laythe aero-capture... I noticed that I was in quite an eccentric orbit, so I moved both modules down to a lower, more circular orbit to reduce the amount of fuel the plane needs to de-orbit. And we've re-docked! Then we proceed to undock and de-orbit the plane. Mechje- I mean um.. Sheldon knows what he's doing. The atmosphere begins to slow down the craft.. And after two long years of sitting up in space, Sheldon has proved his worth by landing this glorious spaceplane on the surface of Laythe! The plane took countless attempts to land, and the entire mission took hours to perform. Hope you enjoyed!
  5. I've been playing KSP for a long time now, ever since 0.18 as a matter of fact. I've gone to every planet in the Kerbol system, but only with rockets. For the first time, in 0.23, I've managed to get a spaceplane to somewhere besides Kerbin's SOI! I finally put in the effort to make a plane that can go to Laythe! Completely stock! Well except for mechjeb... So without further babbling, I present to you... This beauty has only 500-600mps left when in orbit, but can easily be refueled as shown below. Cinematic Time! When I finally got into orbit, I noticed something wrong... Jeb was the pilot! I had promised myself that I wouldn't send any of the famous three on a mission they might not return from (Even though Jeb's piloting skills are unmatched by any other kerbal), so Sheldon happily took his place. Then Jeb returns to the KSC. Now that Sheldon is in control, the window of opportunity has arrived! He begins a fairly quick burn to Jool. When the correction burns are over, more cinematic moments take place. After Laythe aero-capture. That's it for part one! Next, I will send a refueling canister to Laythe and proceed to land at the colony and hopefully embark on some one man exploration missions. Hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for part two! Well here it is: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/67768-Spaceplane-to-Laythe%21-Part-2
  6. Ah, well there wasn't any intention on bringing them back anyways.. This is why I left Jeb, Bill, and Bob back at the KSC.
  7. I got bored, so I decided to spend two hours of my time to send nine brave kerbals to the surface of Laythe. The mission itself included three launches and took around 300 days to complete. The kerbals enjoying themselves on the beach. Either Vall or Tylo seems to be looming in the distance..
  8. I've been playing around with the kethane mod lately and decided to make a refueling station to orbit around Minmus, along with a large kethane rig to make trips to and from the surface. I plan to use the station to fuel future inter-planetary missions as well. So far, I have a total of 4 different types of modules at Minmus, and a total of 7 modules, all of which are probes. (I have yet to send kerbals to either of the stations...) - Overview of the operation: http://prntscr.com/2fo1kr - Kethane Detecting Probe: http://prntscr.com/2fo267 - Fuel Depository: http://prntscr.com/2fo2ol - Kethane Rig: http://prntscr.com/2fo34z - Habitation Station: http://prntscr.com/2fo3gr I'm planning to make a base, along with a shuttle to ferry kerbals to and from the surface of Minmus. Kethane trucks/rovers are also something I might add..
  9. With a few structure panels, jet fuel canisters, and a LOT of super glue, Bill and the engineers finally found a way to refuel Jeb's flying machines. - Plane (Docked) : http://prntscr.com/2fkc1u - Plane (Undocked) : http://prntscr.com/2fkc6z Decided to try and get a working refueling pad for a new base and this was the result, also getting the pad to the second landing strip was NOT an easy task though. Note: having the panels sink under the surface wasn't intentional, but made it look that much cooler.
  10. A colonization mission to Laythe. The base has a max capacity of 16, and the exploration rover can hold 6. http://prntscr.com/1rilft - base and crew http://prntscr.com/1rilnt - base http://prntscr.com/1rilu1 - rover
  11. http://prntscr.com/1kugq8 First colony on Laythe!
  12. So I've been working on a fighter for Spiritwolf and this is what I've come up with so far. Spirit Fighter - Mk1 -> http://prntscr.com/1j36q1 And a dock-able version: Spirit Fighter - Mk2 -> http://prntscr.com/1j36vy

  14. For most players, when confronted with lag, seem to immediately bump down all the graphics settings, one of which is labeled "Terrain Quality". While this does decrease the lag for the most part, it also causes glitching through the ground for kerbals and landers sometimes, on Kerbin, Eve, and Laythe. But there is a way to have both better FPS and terrain! Simply go into your KSP folder, and open settings, preferably with notepad. Scroll down untill you find these lines: } PRESET { name = Default PLANET { name = Kerbin minDistance = 6 minSubdivision = 1 maxSubdivision = 9 } PLANET { name = KerbinOcean minDistance = 6 minSubdivision = 1 maxSubdivision = 7 All you have to do is make these changes: } PLANET { name = KerbinOcean minDistance = 3 minSubdivision = 1 maxSubdivision = 6 Do the same for Eve and Laythe as well and most of the lag caused by the oceans rendering should be decreased. Hope this helps! Feel free to comment, and report any problems.
