  1. Yeah the docking ring is backwards. Its facing the blue ring which shouldn't be there anyways.
  2. Even when u bring friends in they are still alone. Stinks that modules dont automatically combine into 1 big module or if they could move between the station. I've got 17 people on my station and moving them around is a pain in the butt.
  3. The center of thrust is a tiny bit above the center of mass which i dont really care about since this ship is now in orbit at the altitude i want it to be and wont see any engine activity from now on. Actually i overdid it with the regular engines. I still have 2 full orange tanks left that i'll have to dump since they match the trailers i'll be adding to it. Have you played FL recently? I havent touched it in probably 2 years since i've got so much stuff to play. Use to play discovery.
  4. Been thinking what to make next. The reason for this thing is to have a refueling ship in orbit. Of course i dont want just a bunch of fuel tanks. I want to have some style to it so whats better than making it fun. Have you guys ever played Freelancer? If so then you've probably seen the Advanced Train. That's a perfect competitor for a fueling ship. Here is the cab all made. I shall add more to it soon. The original.
  5. Add more batteries, it will go dark once the sun goes down. Although i dont see many lights on it.
  6. I'd suggest using the number keys on the number pad for translation keys. 5 being up, 2 being down, 1 being left, 3 being right, 4 being forward, and 6 being backwards.
  7. That is false. Theres no such thing. The port is either docked or undocked, there is no on button that we can control. It would be nice to see the feature added though to help with bugged ports. The problem is when a port bugs as docked while you're undocked.
  8. Ports can be bugged if you use a decoupler to hold it in place while you launch stuff. If you think you've had it just perfect click f12 and go to debug menu. You'll see a red msg pop up again and again if the port is bugged. \__port___/ /decoupler\ vs \___port___/ /```port```\
  9. Indeed click time warp from time to time to get the uncontrolled station to stop turning.
  10. What do you do with the first plane? Like how do you keep it in control? Leave it in sts or something?
  11. At the end when i was docking the B2s i was getting 4-5 fps. Of course i'm guessing but if i tried counting and i saw 4-5 refreshes between seconds so i'm estimating about that many. And not a single core of my cpu went above 35%. :/
  12. So ever since I installed KSP I've been working on a space station here and there. I shall start by my first launch. This may look familiar to some of you. My first docking (ever in ksp). Yes did not know i needed RCS fuel so it took quite a while and was quite frustrating. Added the next part. For this part i didnt know i could "translate" in 1 direction. This one took me a lot more time but eventually got it hooked up after 10ish hours of messing around with it. 3rd ever docking. From there i added a fuel tank along with a tug/tow boat made to move stuff around thats floating in space. Tug boat design. Tug boat works lovely. Then I added what i like to call a traffic control tower. You know the control towers at the air port? I tried to mimic this. After messing around with this for few hours i finally gave up. It appears that the port was bugged. (found it in the debug menu after i joined this forum). As you see perfectly lined up and the magnets would not pull the module. It would simply bounce off. After launching the module again it worked the first time. From there i decided to make my station into a supply zone so i added large amounts of resources and multiple docking ports. I launched tons of rcs fuel that day. Next day I added some regular fuel. Soon after, i decided to rearrange my station and add emergency escape pods. Each pod seats 1, has a parachute, and enough fuel to de-orbit and land safely on Kerbin. Also as you see in the background i added tons of xenon gas resources. As you see, i tested them on my failed launch. They worked lovely and Lanrle made it home perfectly safe. My next launch i added large living quarters. Its not a space station if the living quarters arent in a circle right? My buddy laughed at this image and said this will never happen. Well it did after i added more fuel tanks. And added to the station. At this point i realized having this as a resupply station is a bad idea. The lag was getting bad so i decided I would complete it into a full station. As you see in the above image i decided to scrap the fuel tanks. The idea was to add some base defenses. This is where i remodeled the B2 and added 2 bombs to it. Of course with ships, one needed to have a hanger bay. When i designed the B2 i did not realize the scale of it relative to the rest of the station items but i pressed on. Ultimately i wanted to have a closed hanger bay so i started modeling it around my B2. On my image you will see numbers. Keep in mind each number represents 1 of the double plates. Ultimately i wanted to have hanger bay slots for 4 ships. 2 per side, all facing one way. Well this all seemed like a great idea until i put it all together in the Vehicle Assembly Building. It's ok add few more launch stabilizers it should be okay right? For the hell of it i decided to add few engines to it and try it out. Well this aint gonna fly... NOT because it's a pain in the butt to get into space but because this piece alone causes way too much lag. Then version 2 came to be. Open hanger bay. Then came the engines. Obviously we cannot have a station without large engines attached to it (even though they would rip it to shreds at full power). At this time I decided to lift it to 250km altitude. This part took lots of quick saves and about 4 hours worth of small adjustments. Anything more than a slight press would bend the station too much to where something would brake. The final step was adding the B2 bombers to the hanger bay. 2 done. At last. All 4 are on board and the station is complete. (I held back on part count to help with lag therefore ladders and such details were neglected). Our tour guide for today will be Bill Kerman. At last Bill now has a nice view to look at. This concludes the Tripzter Space Station which will stay in orbit above Kerbin at 250km altitude.
  13. Add more orange tanks with the cruiser engines. Reality is you already have enough thrust to tare the joints so add the 650 thrust engines to the outside tanks. My rule of thumbs is if you're bellow that 60some % throttle mark, add the 650 engines.
  14. The only thing i wish would be added in the game is from mechjeb is more info while in the construction buildings. You shouldnt have to go into orbit just to be able to see your ships weight.
  15. You want to use struit connectors on the last connection so you get an even connection all around.
  16. Why use 650 as a parking orbit? Whats the logic behind such high orbit?
  17. Ensure you turn on the brakes. Dont press b, click the brake button with the mouse so its toggled on.
  18. I have found a solution to this issue, check out my tutorial in the tutorial section.
  19. That was the plan to my station back when it was 2-3 pieces and then i started getting lag. Since then i havent bothered docking to refuel. Instead i just toss a small fueling ship in orbit carrying the amount of fuel i need to refill my other ship. Probably will start making a fuel train with nothing but orange tanks with the left over fuel.
  20. 80-100 for launching new stuff, space station stays at 130km. After I complete it i'll lift it up higher in the 300s
  21. SAS + time warp + Kraken is to blame. Earlier i had teh same issue with my ship. I docked it, then all the sudden SAS decided to violently shake it. From there Kraken amplifies it until everything snaps and explodes. On a side note my plan was to add a partially closed hanger bay to my station... The plan was to have 4 of my B2s on the station as defensive ships. Well as soon as i started modeling a hanger bay around my ship i realized this is a bad idea. For the hell of it i decided to mount some engines on it. Flies like a brick. The reason why i'm abandoning this idea is not because of it being pain in the butt to get into space but because this piece alone causes tons of lag.
  22. How so? You still have to wait for it to get to the correct position and still have to burn to get the correct orbit. I dont see how its easier. IMO its worse due to the fact that you have to burn a lot more to even out your orbit. Hmm what are the km distance for rendering? You say 150km?
