  1. Playing ED until KSP gets OSX unity engine that can properly detect my X-55 hotas controllers separately.
  2. Hard mode and if it looks like it might fly it's Kerbal Rated.
  3. What is this bizarro world I live in where people are asking if they will switch from Linux to Windows because the game will run equally well on the latter?...
  4. I remember paying less than $10 or so, quit whining.
  5. Yes, had to rely on an expert to get it into orbit and he basically flew it in a way that simulated a reasonably sized engine. Definitely not a problem with the design... ;/
  6. That rocket does not look like an unstable disaster to me, it looks like a reasonable design that should work. Powerful thrust vectoring engine, much taller than wide, etc. Initar, what happens if you disable the upper 3.75m tank until it is needed? I think that would help keep the CoM further forward and the rocket more stable. So it was an unstable disaster of a rocket after all... BTW, in case you missed why I called it that, it was partially _because_ it was far from enough 'taller than wide', had a beast of an engine on something that looks like a fat dwarf.
  7. If it looks like it is an unstable disaster of a rocket, it probably is. Do those engines even have thrust vectoring?
  8. Weird, cause I've read that he asked IBM if he could use their TLA, however they refused so he incremented each letter of IBM.
  9. The AV-11 winglets worked perfectly for me in a triple configuration, a non-gimbaled rocket with two booster that tended to flip over at high speeds. Not every rocket should have fins, and not every rockets should not have fins. Basically the error lies between the user and keyboard.
  10. Found out that fly-by of the Mun on hardmode with basic launch pad is just about possible if you drop the heat shield. Feels slightly like cheating...
  11. I launched Jeb on a badly designed tower of 4x solid booster /w non-decoupled rt-5 at the bottom, ended up skimming the surface at <1000m unable to gain altitude nor separate the stack of 3 boosters. Somehow Jeb pulled through once the SRB burned out by reorienting, staging, burn to 3000m and float down for a safe splash into the sea north of KSC. This was on hard mode so there would have been no reincarnation.
  12. Try playing career hardmode to get a feel for the new update, it forces you to start from the basics and is actually a challenge. Regarding reentry heat being underwhelming, with the standard pod that seems to be a bit too much in the way of durability... as soon as you try to add goo canisters or anything else things start blowing up unless you are careful.
  13. Try playing career on hardmode, then you'll realize they've balanced them perfectly.
  14. No, why would you ever bother going to Hawaii?
  15. Unlimited and try to put that junk in degrading orbits...
  16. The kerbal scientists for some reason believe transmission of the results of experiments involve stuffing the sample through the hollow part of the antenna.
  17. A simple crontab job on my MBP that automatically commits and pushes all the changes to my personal (personal/job related notes, etc) and KSP save directory to github.com every day at 18:00. Even if github.com was to get hit by an asteroid my local machine _and_ my rented server (which pulls my repostiories from github) have the whole history of the save files as committed every day. One of the joys of UNIX-based systems; everything you might want to do as a user was solved 3 decades ago. If you got a a mac os x, make the root or specific save directory a github repository (see website) and create (executable with 'chmod a+x push_git.sh'); Now good luck with the vi editor you get when you type 'crontab -e'.
  18. >crontab -l 1 18 * * * /Users/rakshasa/personal/scripts/push_git.sh Safe with no hassle.
  19. Is this with or without the issue that allows you to retransmit results from a single flight in the same biome multiple times?
  20. Poor Jeb first ended up on a weird orbit around the Mun on a sparse tech tree, and after managing to do a rescue mission with low margin of error, he got sent to the north pole and has been stuck there since then.
  21. Major, Minor, Micro? Also are you an OSS programmer or not? Ehm... Just let me know what part of the version number you thing is going to get incremented.
