  1. you mean in the hangar instead of the rocket one? I'll try that.
  2. I built a buggy and placed the front/back wheels diagonally using symmetry and after test driving, I wanted to assign an custom action to lock steering for the back wheels. But when I selected one back wheel to add an action, it automatically selected the front wheel diagonal from the center that was placed using 2x symmetry. Is there a way to only select one part at at time for actions? I've tried holding select, ctrl, and alt while selecting the parts but it didn't work. TBH auto-selecting all parts that were placed together using symmetry for an action group is pretty stupid..
  3. I also have Mun troubles, my kerbal got stuck on the surface of the Mun lol.. he can't move or board anything
  4. How close do you have to be in order to use the [ or ] key to switch to the Kerbal? I have no monopropellant on my rocket and the closest I can get is 10km.
  5. So MAVEN was launched yesterday on an Atlas V rocket and from the pictures i've seen of it, there are no "tail wings" or anything of that sort to stabilize the rocket as it accelerates. If so how does do rockets lift off so steadily?? I've seen pictures of the Soyuz rocket and the fuselage sorta bulges for the three engines which can act like an tail wings I guess, i'm not too sure about that one either. (I haven't taken fluid dynamics yet.) Lets say there's SAS in real life, how would that even work??
  6. To start this off it's pretty easy to check out on your own. So I was saving sub assembly's of my rocket and as usual when you create a new sub-assembly, your sub assembly disappears and you have to add it back if you need to use it. One time I saved a sub-assembly with the starting control piece (Command Pod Mk. 1) and when it saved it disappeared as expected but then I couldn't add it back to the sub-assembly. Since my initial control piece was missing, my building tree reset and I had to add a new one to be allowed to continue my rocket build. When I wanted to add my sub-assembly (with the Command Pod Mk.1) back, it had to be connected to the newly placed control piece and now i'm stuck with two command pods. I feel that being able to change the initial piece of the building tree to any newly added command parts would make the ship assembly much more flexible.
  7. When I build ships that are slightly heavy to one side, it's hard to tell exactly where the yellow and black ball representing the center of mass lies within the 3D structure of our rocket or jet. I also think that it is pretty difficult for human's to read depth accurately so if three planes were shown with the ball, it would be much easier for us to estimate which side the weight/thrust/lift is leaning towards. it would like like (below) but in 3d. .......|....... .......|....... ----(|)----- .......|....... .......|....... . periods rep. plane facing you - dash rep. plane perpendicular + horizontal to you | line rep. plane perpendicular + vertical to you
  8. I don't think it's realistic to allow rockets to leak fuel out of the tanks while in flight/orbit.. Try designing your rockets better so you can drop fuel that isnt needed.
  9. Doesn't look the part. The four outside tanks of the Soyuz rocket curve into the main rocket.
  10. So NASA has cancelled the space shuttle missions about two years ago, so what are they doing now? I know everyone is using the Russian Soyuz rocket to get to the ISS but does anyone know if NASA is developing anything?
  11. how did you have enough fuel to go back and forth between Duna? How large is that fuel tank??
  12. Just wondering, how many people are working on this game right now?
  13. I'm pretty sure most players ran into this problem.. Anyways the sticky keys message popped up twice on me, while I was getting into orbit, good thing I wasn't doing any important maneuvers but does anyone know how to turn off the pop-up message?
  14. yes i've run into quite a few glitches and my game has crashed twice, never happened before.
  15. I think docking in orbit is pretty amazing. When you see yourself getting closer to the other ship is just so crazy how it's even possible, still blows my mind. So i'd say build the ship, dock with another ship, refuel, undock and land on the mun. edit: no one wants to watch the rocket travel back and forth between the mun and kerbin in map view twice.
  16. For people who don't know any physics, this game will teach you the basics of classical mechanics. ie. inertia, newtons laws, and angular momentum.
  17. I'm seeing this everywhere; many people say that when you're leaving the Kerbin atmosphere, keep your velocity around 200m/s or less. Why? I've been keeping my throttle pretty high the entire time and I get into orbit perfectly fine. Has someone calculated that 200m/s is most efficient? (in terms of fuel and time)
  18. I was pretty surprise when I first rank KSP and it lagged on my i5-3320M laptop CPU. I don't lag as badly for other games but I can see that KSP does have a lot of things to calculate.. Are there going to be any optimization patches soon?
  19. Nope I do tests that land back to Kerbin to make sure my final ship will reach it's destination. Sometimes I forget to put parachutes so i've lost quite a few Kerbals
  20. I'm seeing a lot of mods for better graphics and really cool parts that arn't in the game. Is there any chance they would be added? It feels to me this game is incomplete until you mod it to your liking and I don't want to install mods because then I feel like i'm not playing the "real" game. I didn't buy KSP too long ago and found out that the game was released to the public in 2011. It's 2013 now and the game is still not complete so updates must have been really slow. I'd be great if a developer could touch on this.
  21. I think the game has forgotten about trees on Kerbin.
  22. Trees would be a good idea too. I find it pretty funny how the atmosphere still exists without trees.
