  1. Over 7 years, 28 landings, 3 brave Kerbals and 1 ship. My Jool 5 missionon is complete. - Which game versions did you use? 1.0.4 - What mods did you use, if any? - ScanSat - Kerbal Joint Reinforcement - KER - Science! - Transfer Window Planner - How many Kerbals are on the mission? 3 - How many launches was needed to start your mission from Kerbal? 1 - How much did your mission cost? 551 348 kredits - Did you needed a refueling mission? No - Did you bring a Living Quarter (Hitch-hiker's Storage or Passenger Cabins) for the guys during the long journey? MK2 crew cabin - Did you bring additional stuff like satellites, rovers, etc? Just three scanners - Share the delta-V information too, if you tracked it! Well, see screenshots! - Any additional note or description? It's an ISRU entry, I have landed and done science on every biome possible. Total science: 59661 Two of the scanners were stock Survey Scanner and Narrow Band Scanner, the third ScanSat Multispectral Sensor used to make biome map of every moon. Whole writeup is here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/136930-Science-grinder-j5-challenge!
  2. Challenge completed. Bop and return to Kerbin:
  3. Pol has a very nice terrain: And the RockHopper is scanning Tylo now.
  4. My second attempt at Jool 5 Challenge! The first one was done in 0.23 or 0.24 and I have never finished it or published. This time I'm determined to make the scoreboard. It's a ISRU level but to make it harder I decided to land and collect the science from every biome on each moon. List of mods used: - ScanSat - Kerbal Joint Reinforcement And info mods: - KER - Science! - Transfer Window Planner First part, from Kerbin to Laythe:
  5. What Squad could do is to release new plane parts as official DLC (like Astronomer's Day). So it won't clutter VAB and memory for us who are not into planes and still will be considered as stock parts.
  6. The system is designed in a such way that you have to use all three scanners if you want to find a good spot. First is survey scanner in polar orbit, the result of the scan is completly useless but it has to be done to enable other scanners. Narrow band scanner - shows average concentration for each biome in range but you can't save the result, so use pen and paper or ScanSat. And concentration in different places can vary by few percent from the averarage for the biome so you need to use short range scanner, preferably on something flying low as it's less convinient on rovers. And I belive like NBS it doesn't update planet's overlay so again, pan and paper or ScanSat...
  7. Landed on Laythe as part of J5 challange.
  8. I'm really suprised but Holywood made it right this time. They sticked to the book and the movie is really good. The cuts are in right places and the movie is not too dumbed down. If I can nitpick something that I'll agree with Slashy that Whatney character is a bit too perfect, except one small explosion he doesn't make any mistakes. The book is so much better in this matter.
  9. Haven't seen this before, thanks!
