  1. Do these use electricity? Also, maybe add a nice low humming noise, that has a higher over tone, like those new all electric harley davidson motor bikes. Some sweet noises, maybe if you could have them set to propel in any direction and you drive them like wheels, so you don't have to worry about RCS? Maybe even make a similar thing to them that uses the fuel RCS has, that gives them more oomph, so you can temporarily fly, but also use fuel, but if you don't fly too high/far the repulsors should keep you safe. Also, just from judging the video, they seem a bit instant. Maybe if there was a 100-200ms delay, or some gradual force constantly being applied that took a slight amount of time, was to keep them up, it was seem more natural. Not criticising this, it's beautiful, and amazing. Just adding some ideas
  2. Is this up on tumblr, if not, can I upload your gif to tumblr and link this forum? It's just super cute and I want it and want to share it.
  3. Thank you muchly. I was actually happy with that screenshot, was an accident, like what's depicted but kinda is also pretty in the way that it spirals + Yay explosions. Also, those 3 steps do kinda work for when you're first starting off.
  4. This is the worst thing I've ever done but it made me giggle wanted to share that if anyone found this funny at all Also, just going to share a piece of information, this screen is from sometime in my first hour of gameplay, sadly this doesn't happen as much unless I intend on it after clocking this many hours :
  5. Am I allowed the speed up the footage of everything, as long as I show myself turning WSplit on at the start? Just might be nicer to do so.
  6. I'm going to attempt it and put up sped up vids to go with it, just made one of the MunBugXI roughly (At 5 in the morning, having not slept, could've gone worse) here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=No772GmlgAY&feature=youtu.be Quite like the premise behind this and am guessing, it would be prudent to get as many things up in a basic orbit with something planned, or even mass produced to make for a tug and drop placement method for colonies to get somewhere. Anyway, going to do this. Have done a fair bit with Kethane already, haven't touched EPLP much yeah, should be fun
  7. I think he read what you said as, it was only 1Km/s not 1Km/s less I skipped the word less first read and though, hang on, 1000m/s to orbit? No way.
  8. It's not needed cause you could get it all done without it. But seriously, why skip it if you're going to then complain it's useless? Just use it, find a way to make it work with rovers and such? Land one and a hab module or whatever, get the kerbals to all do their things, install TAC even so they need to hop out and eat and stuff, will make you need a small base to make them hop around to keep refinding data and getting science?
  9. With that said. It's good to just land/orbit a bay, refine everything and gather all you can, get all the data into a capsule and then just take that back and then throw a tug out to get the science lab to where you want next. It's pretty good imo.
  10. Could make a 3rd and 4th one, both of these be radial and the other two be 1.5m and the larger unit? Like a mini housing unit that could fit 1 for the smaller, 2 or 3 for the larger, more charge used for more people? Then the others could be radial, one person each? Or whatever It's your mod inside your sand box, I look forward to what you come up with
  11. If you could put the dimensions of what/where needs to be textured I could send you an email with some attempts, might be better than nothing as a palce holder. Also, why not use both modles? Same texures, except one would have a glass portion and give them different stats? They can both only hold so much food/water that is slowly put into your kerbal, using different rates of electricity and resources, meaning, you might even want to send a robotic craft up to reload resources on every now and then, if you were to use the less efficient one? Just a random idea Good luck.
  12. This is actually fairly useful for EVA on the Mun, to get an idea on how far you need to go, how fast you're going. If you could maybe make another one, not to be needy/wanting, but instead of being about getting punted, maybe vert and hoz velocity, or that nav ball controll (Or something like) inside a mini window while on EVA? Would be rather useful Maybe if it could also, have what biome you're directly over or on and work from the command chair as well, so while driving rovers around you can get an idea on what must be done and such as well.. If you have the time and that doesn't seem like too much more on top of this maybe even height from surface/rough impact time, or something. Not that that is what this mod seems to be about at all, but I just noticed it could easily be used for things like that as is and with a slight tweak or two it'd be the perfect companion to EVA.
  13. To anything immediately bellow it to the centre, above it and it's partner next it it, would make base sections of struts.
  14. This exactly. Minmus is nice too, as the Kerbal can make it roughly 8-9Km away and back on the EVA fuel, so you can fly back and forth collecting a lot of science from a few biomes, cram it all in and then fly the full ship bunny hopping around, only about 200dV to take off and land from end to end on the decent salt bed, so you could quite easily make it around on something, then go up into orbit, maybe even let that craft run out of fuel and just fly a new one up to pick the Kerbal, or even just get him to move all the science. Also adds alot to the rovers and such, depending on how you use it. Quite happy with it and the fact things have been nerfed a little, still able to get well over 1-2K science per mission after the first one or two, but that's if you just intentionally go as many places at once, setting missions out seperately and recues and such, allows for a much more progressive career, very keen for Krubal/Kuck/KBuck/Kbuks/Kerbal moneys/Kredits/whatever it'll be, maybe won't be allowed to just send up that big science bay to each planet to pretty well harvest the place dry Too early anyways, not enough money.
  15. Wow that was quick. Un installed everything and was very hesitant to remove this, guess I'll be going in Career with this and then later happily add other things like Engineer etc.
  16. That'd be pretty sweet If that's what you're after without the line of sight http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/56440-0-22-AntennaRange-Enforce-and-Encourage-Antenna-Diversity There is this, doesn't add antenna but puts a range on the current ones, which works pretty well, but they don't link up to makes grids, etc in the same way as Remote Tech. But that would be a fun stock thing, my main thing really is just stats, I don't want to have to check the map everytime and then mouse over to see my Ap and Pe, to know if something has more than a 1TWR or not, although you can simply try launch and it won't go up if it's lower than 1 But being able to know things like that prior, or it's over all dV really seems like something that would've already been stock, pretty sure the mod just access information that is already in the game engine, so it seems reasonable that it could happen. Also good point, maybe making massive weight changes, etc would be good, so you could have a heavy sat in orbit while a small rover is down there with a short range like antenna to send the info into the relay and back to Kearth, or something.
  17. You could kinda use a smart device to go onto webpages Telemachus puts up? But I get what you mean, some form of app that had your flight info on it, would be pretty sweet Get a few devices up around to make mission control, a freed up screen maybe even like action groups (With descriptions) on it, among other things, but someone would have to do it I really don't know if this would be likely or unlikely for SQUAD to do, as it could actually lend itself to KSP working in more open areas/schools and maybe for whatever KSPedu will be, it's also a random software/hardware pair up that seems like a bit of a stretch to do at this stage of the game but then, 3D mouse functionality has been added and I didn't see that coming, plus "Smart Glass" type things seem to be popping up everywhere.
  18. Also, those suggestions I know are all covered by a mod. I'm just wondering if I'm going to have to rely on Kerbal Engineer to know certain stats, etc. The handling differences are going to be in remote tech to a degree (lagged control for distances) which is sweet, but something like that to make it handle more like it did when the Kracken would get you with the lesser SAS control and then like a bullet/bird with the other, would be wonderful. Also, just honestly curious about achievements/any form of acknowledgement of what's done besides repeated texts for experiments until it becomes useless Maybe some tracker that just say's where you are, so when you're landed it could change to say that, maybe even the biome as well, just all that jazz. Would actually be nice to know what biome you're in/over without having to perform an experiment.
  19. Just a couple of suggestions/questions and then some more mindless dribble at the end Sorry, this was only intended to be a paragraph or two but it's late and blergh. Noticed people tend to write off the SAS module that isn't the inline reaction wheel. As it weighs more and has no benefit, but wouldn't it be kinda cool if this had the new/current SAS handling and they were to nerf the others and the command pod torque even more so? Just different handling, jerkier or more responsive on either end of the spectrum. Side note on similar parts not having enough of a difference, wouldn't it be cool if with the antenna, you were actually capable of gaining more "Science" if you use something better to send the information with, so the differences in antenna would be more noticed than just send speeds/power usage, because in the end with that, people avoid the 88-88 because it uses too much power to send things a little quicker. Unless you're using Antenna Range or Remote Tech2 or some such. And to just finish off this rant that seems to segway wherever, is there any word on "stats" being visible in KSP? You know, so when you'er building things in the VAB/SPH you can see your fuel/weight/TWR ratio, maybe some dV calculator for each stage and over all? Same for in flight Current Ap/Pe so you don't need to flick back and forth to the map, or even just IVA stats like some mods seem to provide. Time to impact, air pressure, G force (So you know if you need to thrust down for when you for some reason make things with a higher than 2-3TWR and they take a bit of a beating), air pressure for space planes and all that jazz. Would just be sweet Also, to be extra annoying. Is there any actual reason Squad won't be doing achievements for steam or even actual in game achievements, that maybe reward science like a particular mod? Hitting a certain height, docking, launching however ships, landing succesfulling 5-10-15 times or whatever, all that sort of stuff would just be kinda cool As well as some form of manifest that has a "log" (For your Career history) and as you fly, you can log information (Just basic, where you are in what ship etc) so then well after that flight is done, 15 launches down the road, you can still have a look at who went up in what to where (That you marked, so multi destinations would be possible) and what Science they collected, or if things didn't go as well, where and when they died, G force, top speeds and distance travelled, so just the end flight report but like recorded with a few extra doobies. Anywho, sorrt to rant. And this is not to be construed as complaining as this game is most definitely one of the greatest games I've ever played, up there with Zelda. Constantly amazed at what new ideas it inspires, how certain things learnt in the game can be taken into the real world (to establish an orbit, or interplanetary transfer, to get more out of it without putting too much in, don't fight things, let it flow and gravity turn/align a litho break, let the enviroment/forces work in your favor by dancing with them and not fighting too hard, just a little, but this doesn't only apply to using energy in space even if that's all we ever will essentially do), how every new bit of information about what's coming is just incredible, especially how they have implemented Science and are deciding to nerf it a little, while at the same time, letting you move info around, so you could send a rover somewhere, gather butt tons of info, have a kerbal come by, pick it up and fly back it it, seems pretty awesome and would actually get people more inclined to want to land and return (Maybe in something super light without Science gear) next to a small base/rover that has already gathered heaps of science, allowing designs for missions to be very different. Pretty excited, so much so that I'm still up at 3AM in AUS waiting for .23 Waiting for a game about space as the sun will begin to come up soon and this planetary rotation doesn't in real life, to nudge me to stop waiting for this virtual world to grow doesn't work... Must play... Must wait. Need RAPIER engines, plus kinda waiting to see if this will crash all saves, kinda hoping it does a little, seems like it should just based on the whole Science re-work, atleast game crashing for your Career modes, but idk. /end massive rant
  20. Webisod, webisode, whatever, wanna get something that isn't fraps or crammed full of useless/annoying "features". Looking EZVid atm, then gonna just chop the vids up or whatever, or just go through on the fly. Would I be best off pre-recording, or live streaming/recording some how? Been thinking about it for quite some time, since I've been a bit more confidant in how knowing how certain things might play out and what to do for my desired outcome in KSP, docking/landing whatever wherever really, been around as much as the town bike or our solar systems tea pot (Prove me wrong) and rather enjoy the game, logged 674 hours in steam on the paid for version, been playing since a few weeks before .21 came out. Anywho, want to just start putting some stuff out there as a letsplay/career thing, plus as to kinda showcase some mods, wanna play with FAR, Enhanced Nav Ball, KAS, Proc Fair, Kethane, ScanSat, Warp, Near Future, etc etc. Anywho, any suggestions would be lovely, also to know if anyone would be interested in such a thing, although I was going to say "Why would anyone want to watch when they can play" but really, after sitting and barely sleeping for the KerbalKon having quite a good time collectively watching someone, it's actually great fun (I don't consider the times I watched Scott Manly play "watching someone" but more, being taught what to do and what not to do and what can result in rather interesting situations (Weather it be some ridiculous contraption, or really useful tips for beginners, got my first decent docking down (First attempt) after watching him do it. Anywho. Thanks in advance for anyone/whoever replies
  21. Could you some how set it up, to just not let you mine if your power generation (total possible, so direct sunlight exposure would be change things maybe) but at the moment of the switch and if you had the power, it stops draining charge and works in the same "un-powered" but functional way that Scan-Sat works? Then when you guess it'd be done, come back and collect the resources while you have done whatever it was you wanted.
  22. That sound's pretty awesome. The beggining portion sounds very much like how I play already with mods, Mission Controller for a little extra (Not that it's needed) Science earned through missions and cash to keep things balanced. Doing the set missions for funds, or the occasional "Government"/"Weather" sat for funds, as cheaply as possible, to put up my own small Kethane bases/Extraplanetary Launchpads. FAR is pretty good for the aero-drynamics, can just glide without the engine and re0-direct your momentum, heating up works a little different and looks nicer as different speeds are allowed in atmo, deadly re-entry (Scaled to however you want, if things break too easy) combined goes really well. The Warp and NearFuture mods also add some nice parts (Capacitors at the start are good to have some saved charge, etc) for new forms of exploration. Shuttle networks, idk so much about though, think people have talked about mods that allow you to have automated paths, but idk if that'd work (To have a shuttle that goes back and forth from docking wtih a mining rig, to a station with fuel etc). Also, there is a mod with a Purple ringed planet that recently came out, pretty sweet might like to check it out. But I am very much in the same boat of thinking that this would be sweet. The Tycoon and Military, can imagine small factions with quick saved sub assemblies, for cheap missiles, harvesting resources about meteors, while keeping watch of others to fire said missiles at, dog chases through the atmo or between debris fields, etc. Would be kinda sweet, but again, pretty sure all that "fighting" stuff isn't their priority, I mean it's our sandbox you can re-arrange your toys to make them deadly, but I don't think they're going to make guns and shiz. Also, with that KMP mod for multiplayer what you said could be a possibility for the near future of KSP mixed in with its fan base. Really just keen to see wherever it goes, quite a wonder. Get's peoples imaginations going.
  23. Depending on what's required I'd be more than happy to try, what needs to be done to host? (Sorry Just not completely with it at the moment)
  24. Don't know if this is a dumb idea for generating "Science" by doing this, but you could just have a base 1% of coverage = 1Science, based on the body, have a different multiplier? Kerbin 1, Mun 2, etc? Oh maybe not so basic, don't even know if this can be done. Or like I've just noticed others suggested, per set of %10 or something? Like being able to see biomes. Also, working on a Polar view mode, or would that be to annoying to throw in as well? Also, incredibly keen to see this working for Career mode, would add so much. Now all we need is a proper weather system to map out with these sats (Maybe eventually if it's implemented) and radiation belts and all will be sweet, on the front of scanning things anywho. Also, does the Sat actually generate images, or is the line over which it's travelled revealed? Just wondering if you could also with a sat show the over all course something has travelled or something, might be a way to be able to look back at exactly what one did to fix it. Although that's off subject from terrain scanning, but seems like a job some doo hicky on a sat could do. Or a flight recording system.
  25. Been doing this with the new mission controller, add's a little bit of direction for each mission while having a cost limit, etc. Mixed with playing like that is actually quite fun If FScience (Another mod) were to allow you to not only put all and any data into a command pod, but put it only a kerbal as well, with slight diminishing results, you could send recovery craft and get half the science, if the ship didn't make it, etc. Fun to play perma death mode/no take backs.
