  1. The Blackbird 700 - Jebediah Version Jeb approves! Looks like even Jeb can get scared sometimes.. The topspeed was something around 900m/s, it went by too quick for me to make a screenshot. 42 seconds till 700m/s though.. Almost even managed to land that thing, but Jeb fell off and vanished.
  2. Here's mine: The Rovemate 9001 I created two versions. The more "serious" one weights 0.46 tons, costs 2240 kerbal dollars and has a maxspeed of 22.2m/s. 4x Wheels (1200) 4x Solar Panels (400) 1x Thermo (200) (It's hard to see on the screenshots, its mounted on the front of the rover below the antenna) 1x Antenna (150) (What good is a rover that can't phone home to tell anyone about the data it gathered ) 1x OCTO2 (230) 1x Beam200 Pocket Edition (50) 1x Small cubic thingie (10) (Forgot the name) It can probably also climb difficult terrain, but I didn't really test it that well, only did some tests on the launchpad. 40 points I guess. Then there's the Rovemate 9001 Mk2 version, which has 23 sepatrons added, for a total weight of 1.98 tons and a cost of 4540 kerbal dollars. It's topspeed was quite a bit more than just 22.2m/s, but it wasn't exactly controlling very well! Probably doesn't count..
  3. Here's mine. Complete Gallery - New Kuriosity Mission - http://imgur.com/a/63Whx It comes with a full set of KethaneMod parts, everything thats needed to survey, mine and process kethane. Plus lots of other sciency attachments.. I liked Sapphires idea with the landing legs in front to keep the rover from flipping over, so I added it too. The mission was a success, but with one small problem: After the rover had landed, I realized I had forgot to put lights on it. D'oh!
  4. I also used Eve as location for my prison. What happens on Eve, stays on Eve.. forever.. http://imgur.com/a/2yP9Q/embed The guard station has 3 big docking ports, so 3 cell modules could be docked at the same time. Once processed and deployed on the surface of Eve, the next batch of prisoners can be sent to the station. If Kerbals try to escape from their cells, the guard station drops bombs on them. Prison break baaaad! Eve basically becomes one giant prison colony, with no way of escaping the surface..
  5. Thanks! The entry from Boffinbox is more impressive to me though. I actually built the rover not because I wanted to save fuel, but because I wasn't able to land on the roof at all otherwise. I tried sooo many times. Always veered off course.. My piloting skills just weren't good enough.
  6. Managed to get a score of 2373, without Parachutes or MechJeb. I had to correct for some oversteering during the landing, so I could probably get it higher if I tried really hard for hours.. But I'm happy with the result. Launchpad Thehe.. Ready! Quick, hide the evidence! Perfect landing.. The final score: Nice challenge!
  7. Pre 0.21 I had an abandoned ship in Kerbol orbit. It was my first attempt to reach another planet, back when I had no idea what delta V even meant. Yeah, I didn't get very far. Ran out of fuel just shortly after I escaped Kerbin. I managed to rescue the crew much later on though, but there was nothing I could do about the ship. It had no docking ports. Since 0.21 I have nothing abandoned anymore anywhere. Not even a single piece of debris. I make it a point to deorbit everything now before it runs out of fuel. And add docking ports to everything. Let's see how long I can keep that up.
  8. Love the challenge! I too think some of the stock crafts are a bit wierd and not exactly helpful for beginners. So I made this orbiter here: Dragonfly Orbiter 2A Download .craft file, zipped | unzipped ~2450 m/s of delta V. Easy travel to and from the Mün/Minmus, landing included. 300 Units of monopropellant, allows for mistakes during docking. No need to worry about running out of monoprop. 980 Units of electric charge. No problem on the dark side of the Mün. 4 1x6 solar panels. 4 Landing legs for extra tough landings. 3 Additional fixed solar panels in case someone forgets to deploy the 4 main ones. (Happened to me many times before already. ) 3 Parachutes for safe atmospheric landing. 1 Docking port for docking. 2 Lights for easier docking during the dark. 1 Remote guidance unit for remote control if the capsule is not crewed. (I do this for all my creations ever since these units were introduced.) The RCS thrusters are placed very slightly above the CoM, in order to make docking as easy as possible. Once you have expended a little bit of fuel they become perfectly aligned. Custom action groups as described also in the craft file: Custom 01: Toggle Solar Panels Custom 02: Toggle Landing Legs Custom 03: Toggle Docking Port Shield Custom 04: Toggle Lights Custom 05: Toggle Engine The custom action groups are not really needed at all obviously. They're just there out of habit..
