Yeah, This needs to happen. I'm not sure how this hasn't been fixed yet but it would be very nice if it was.

Sweet mod! Thanks for your work! I have the same issue as bbb18 with the changes to my kerbals not sticking at all in career mode. Tried a few different ways to get it to save properly but never seemed to work. Big bummer as this was the main reason for getting the mod but looking forward to the fix, whenever it comes!

Add another $5 for docking cam. Could care less about all the lazors but that docking cam was baller!

What has been your most satisfying mission in 1.0 so far?
Securus replied to r4pt0r's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Got a mission to fire off that really big reusable SRB, IN ORBIT! while I still haven't even unlocked the larger rocket motors. Took me about an 1.5 hours to finally get it up there and I had to use it's own power to establish the orbit. With some quick adding of a new stage, I staged into and got MAD PROFITS! -
Dropable space plane probes

Anything you can walk away from is a success! -
Thanks all for the suggestions. I did try landing my rescue structure overtop of my lander but as some of you pointed out that processes is crazy and beyond my skill! Made a new lander that actually has enough fuel to get to the Mun and back and Jeb is home safe. Good to know that the docking ports can take some stress as someone pointed out here!

Arne_brun: Thanks! That helps give me some confidence that it'll stay together! Alshain: The craft is stuck on the surface, not enough fuel to get it into an orbit of any kind, so I'm really glad you mentioned the stuff about docking on a landed craft, I had no idea it was going to give me trouble. You're saying I should thrust vertical once I'm about to get the dock lock? tater: You're totally right, I could do that. But for me, it wouldn't be as fun Although I will be setting up the rescue craft for return with science just in case.

Sorry I would post pics but its at home Luckily I had SOME foresight and it does have a docking port, the lander, so that wont be an issue. I don't plan on keeping the Rescue craft attached, that will be jettisoned with only a small "Parachute Pod" still attached to the lander via docking port. I can see this ripping off as soon as one of the parachutes deploy.
-
You'll probably need to know how much the craft weighs, don't know exactly but it has the standard manned pod, 5 of the smallest 1m fuel tanks, Nuclear motor, some scaffolding, legs, Goo, and 4 sphere RCS tanks. So overall it shouldn't weigh too much. Plus it'll be out of gas on reentry.

Good Afternoon Everyone, Hoping someone can help, but mostly cause I'm bored at work. I messed up on my Mun lander and forgot enough fuel and parachutes to recover it and Jeb. I got a Rescue craft created that will provide it enough fuel and 4 parachutes attached via docking port, however... will that docking port hold?

If I'm not mistaken, during the run of Babylon 5, the creator of the show Michael Straczynski was getting calls from folks over at NASA asking if it was okay to use the Starfury design to base actual spacecraft off of. Probably not true, but cool idea at the least.

Yeah... I was really hoping for an animated mouse that would float around the cockpit and get spaced when you go eva.... Truly, it is a sad day.

Overheating engines consuming more fuel?

Annnnnnd boom goes the dynamite... Thanks! -
Yeah, docking is one of he more difficult aspects of KSP, but also one of the most rewarding. If you're getting to within 15m then one of the things you need to make sure to do is be patient. For a docking cam, use the Lazor System Docking cam: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/lazor-docking-cam/ Also make sure your rcs is balanced on center of mass and to use fine controls.

You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!

"I must go. My people need me." -
I like that idea 0jam. I think you should post that in a new topic so the devs see it. Could really make for an engrossing experience. Make it like the NASA crawler, just as slow too.

Good Day, A friend and I thought up what we feel would be a rather awesome Cinematic. Either to be used when Career mode launches (as a promo vid), or a cutscene during Career Mode. Recreate John F. Kennedy's Moon Speech. With Kerbals. Speaking Kerblish. It. Will. Be. Awesome.
