  1. But that would mean it'd happen on most every computer and it isn't. If someone says they don't have the problem then they don't have the problem. I've never seen a FOV setting so if people are going into the config and changing it manually or by some other out-of-game method then that would be causing the problem.
  2. yeah I found a few tutorial threads including that one, but I have some difficulty getting oriented when I start a project. That's why I asked for some guidance. So thanks, I'll try and stick to those threads and find that video. Anyway Space Cowboy is just acting childish pissed off at me because I asked him to explain some incredibly short suggestions he made in different threads.
  3. Yeah, it'd be fun,. but that just ins't a realistic suggestion. Maybe it'd work for DLC, but i'd never expect to see it happen. At least Warsoul made a slightly different suggestion than usual this time.
  4. This is a very odd problem. I tried for quite a while to get it to happen, but couldn't reproduce it. Everything looks fine visually for me. 1920x1080 resolution and GTX 680 on Win 7 x64 here, btw.
  5. Not only that but just a day or so ago someone made a thread to promote a bunch of minor graphical improvements that included comets (although he didn't intend to interact with them.) Still, would be nice to see!
  6. I'm pretty sure I've seen this EXACT thread already, but either way I still love the idea, also being biased cause I'm a computer science student. lol
  7. While I'm new on the forums, I still find 3 users annoying to no end and you are one of them. Just give up and do something new, you obviously have some level of talent. Just put it to good use.
  8. I'd love to see an auto-save implemented just before every launch, but what problem are you having with your whole program getting deleted? I've never had anything like that happen. The most I've lost are those last few edits I make to a ship design because I hit "launch" too fast after hitting "save".
  9. lol, This would be fun. I'm not too hopeful for seeing it implemented, but it would definitely be fun.
  10. "Some issues remain"...you don't say? It's in Alpha. It's not bias to say that the last update improved performance and fixed bugs. I don't think you know what the word "bias" means. What, exactly, am I biased against/for?
  11. I'm with itsme86 on this one. The .21 update improved my frame rate very well and fixed many bugs and yet many people weren't happy with it. That's the problem with such a public alpha/beta. You get lots of people who know nothing bitching about wanting everything and not wanting to wait.
  12. Since this modding community is so active I though it'd be a good idea to ask ya'll for help. I'm a senior computer science student in louisiana, but honestly I have no idea how to apply what I know to anything practical. Pretty sad education, eh? I'm kidding, my concentration is Web Design, not game design. lol Anyway, I know how to use 3DS Max and one of my classes starting in 2 weeks is on Maya. I also know Illustrator/Photoshop very well. On top of that my coding knowledge is several years of C++ and the various web languages like HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc etc. The sad thing is I have no idea what to do with what I know (unless it's for a website, lol). So, with all that in mind I want to get into modding cause I'm bored out of my mind with school and want to learn something practical. If someone would like to help me learn I'd really appreciate that and would return the favor in any way possible. Any guides or help for getting started?
  13. Yes, and in-game recording software isn't really all that different and also destroys frame rate.
  14. I'm a senior undergrad in Computer Science so honestly I'd think it wouldn't be exceedingly difficult to add this into the game. A very basic model that doesn't utilize the physics engine could be included without nearly as much effort as the other tasks they are working on (more planets, inter-stellar, career-mode, etc). Yeah people will complain that it isn't realistic and yeah they will have to apply the current physics model to it eventually, but until then it would be a nice graphical improvement to the game. Especially for those of us who don't like mods. The game gets pretty dull without them after a while. =/ That being said, my concentration is Web Design, not game design, so what do I know. lol EDIT 1: Planets most certainly are difficult. First you have to design a giant planet to scale. That means plenty of 3DS Max (days to weeks), then you have to texture it. (Photoshop I assume?). Then you need to set its parameters and make sure they're accurate within the current celestial laws of physics. Then it needs moons, so repeat the last steps a few times. Then you need to figure out how the moons orbit the planets based on the laws of physics, Then how the planet will interact with the sun, then make sure its orbit won't disturb any other moons/planets. THEN you have to add it into the already existing game code. That seems like a lot more work to me then using PhysX to generate some random particles to make a meteor shower in the background. (Pretty sure they're using PhysX already), but like I said I'm a web design guy. My knowledge of code is just that, coding with MIPS and C++, nothing about applying it to a game. Useless knowledge, eh?
  15. It's called being reasonable, that's all the forums ask of you. It's a very simple task. I'm not sure about the flyby view. It's unrealistic and you've offered no real explanation for implementing it. The tower view would be nice, but not this.
  16. Seems like a good addition to me, but i expect something like this is already planned. The textures for the other planets are sub-par at the moment and there are more moon/planets to come. Still, something like this would be much easier to implement than another planets, or at least I think it would. lol Perhaps listing them as 'ambient effects' and being able to turn them off on weaker systems would be an idea.
  17. Maybe i missed something, but the tech tree would only be for career-mode, right? I don't want to be researching things to just chill in a sandbox, it'd kinda defeat the purpose. As for career mode, I'm excited to see how the tree will work. I'm liking the idea of having to maintain your space program with money earned from jobs/missions while researching new parts. Hopefully the lack of initial parts won't make the game too difficult for newcomers. Don't want to deter people from playing the game.
  18. Sure, I drove there about 10 times and never made it once because I flipped my rovers every time. lol, impatience is key.
  19. This is quite a foolish thing to say. FRAPS does a fine job. There are many free recording programs that do just fine. On top of that the full FRAPS and DxTory aren't expensive at all so why not just buy them if you really want? Requesting the devs make this feature would be a total waste of their time.
  20. I set a Kerbal to his death by jumping from the surface of minimus into orbit with the jetpack. After this gets implemented I should send a team to literally throw a rover into orbit from the surface. lol
  21. Agreed, I've flipped a few rovers already and would love to fix them up with Kerbals (Kerbils?). I agree on using a fixed amount of upward force on the closest side. Let the already set gravity of the world be a factor in the math rather than making new variables.
  22. haha, although embarrassing, I'd love it. Jebediah: "Killed, tragically, when his rover tipped over and crushed him." lmfao, that how I killed him once. Poor soul, lost forever underneath an exploded battery pack somewhere on Dres. That darn low gravity.
