  1. I'd also request the opposite case, opening the window to access the settings even when we're not in the middle of docking.
  2. Nope. I wasn't attempting to use the split packs, but the smaller single pack. And without seeing the download and use numbers, I can't say how "very rare special" my user case is. That does sound a bit condescending, though. Did you find it necessary to be belittling in your reply? Thank you. Finally a helpful reply. I didn't realize there was a 7z version for linux. When I went to the site originally, all I saw were Windows binaries.
  3. I'm having difficulty running 0.5.6.2 on my Ubuntu Linux system. It gets through the initial loading screen, with the loading bar and "witty hints", but just as it's about to show the Start Game screen, KSP closes. 4. My, how helpful. Yeah, I can figure it out: avoid all 7z packs.
  5. And for those of us who don't use Windows?
  6. I'm having trouble with this pack. Mediafire says the zip file is 101MB in size. When I download it, it jumps to 106MB, then I get an error when trying to unzip the files. Any ideas? I'm on Ubuntu Linux, and my unzipper Archive Manager also seems to be having problems, possibly related to the extra 5MB that appears during download.
  7. Check your ship for some parts "clipping" inside other parts. Most often it's struts doing this, and set up what's called a "phantom" torque that sets your ship spinning.
  8. Or if you're on Linux, hold right-shift and right click both tanks. Right-clicking one tank then right-shift right-click the other tank also works.
  9. That may be it. I'm using the round, ball-like thrusters, not the ones with the four nozzles. I thought they looked better than the nozzled ones, and assumed they worked the same way, only using one nozzle that can point in any direction instead of four fixed nozzles. I think it was linear. I saw the two mode lights, the one on the right was lit up. I didn't know how to switch them.
  10. I've got a ship with 6 RCS thrusters evenly spaced on the ship's CoM. I tried docking for the first time yesterday, and found I was unable to translate forward or backward, only rotation and sideways. Is the positioning of the thrusters on the middle of the ship responsible for lack of forward or backward translation?
  11. I did a Free Return Trajectory around the Mun last night, which had a periapsis over Kerbin of 48km. It took 20 orbits to finally land.
  12. How do you do that? I tried it once, my engines never got any fuel from the tanks. Do you route fuel lines around the reaction wheels?
  13. I'd want the option of using the Kerbalizer to make my Kerbals yellow. Turn them into Minions.
  14. Now that the End Flight button is gone, how can we get a log of how a successful flight went? I've only seen it after crashes.
  15. My rescue mission failed with my 5-passenger ship (carrying two with space to pick up 3) crashing into the Mun at over 500m/s. Who put that hill there up so high?
  16. Ah, this is just what I needed, a proof-of-concept. I'm in the planning stages of my own rescue mission, after this happened on my first attempt at a Mun landing: The Kerbals survived the "landing" (and a multi-kilometer roll across the surface), so I've gotta go get them. Here's hoping my second landing attempt works better.
