I have no experience in this kind of thing, but I'm not sure it's possible to give them a cushion effect because they are just wheels. If it is possible then it's probably not very easy to do and would take even more modification to how wheels work.

hi i think this mod is pretty good so far but there is one bug that i'm having where the stock wheels will turn into your smaller versions when you launch -
