  1. It is probably a very minor issue but it somewhat irks me still (also I suppose the solution to this is fairly simple as well). When you take screenshots in KSP they are numbered screenshot0, screenshot1, ... screenshot10, screenshot11, and so on. This somewhat messes up the alphanumerical order of those screenshots (for some programs) as screenshots10-19 come before screenshot2. Would be really nice if screenshots would be labelled screenshot000, screenshot001 and so on in future versions
  2. This! It seems I can't build normal rockets anyway... Always fun to launch something like this: or that: And Mechjeb fails with those EVERY time! I don't even trust SAS with it...
  3. I think there are only so many names in the Database... I had Kerbals returning (in previous versions though) or does it eventually run out and you lose the Sandbox?
  4. Ah yes docking... at first I thought it was harder than landing on the Mun itself. First getting to rendevouz with the target, approaching, alligning and then inching forward at waslking pace. Chase camera really helps. Then I saw this docking camera on one of Scott Manleys videos and this thing helps ALOT! especially when you try to dock bigger parts. It's part of the Romfarer Lazor System but is also available as a standalone. And yeah I don't really trust Mechjeb with doing this... that tin can has a reputation for sabotaging my projects so I only use Smart A.S.S, Orbital and Vessel Info Translatron won't do anything in this situation ... I tried to get some use out of it to approach the spaceship but it was no help at all (obviously ^^)
  5. Aye Solar pannels or a PB-NUK Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator Because your Remote controlled Parts run out of power faily quickly. And be true to your Kerbal - when something doesn't work: add more rockets! On second thoughts maybe not the very best idea but it's certainly a fun one Yeah I'm totally overdoing it...
  6. Not as Big as the KSS Titanic (yet) but it's also not finished yet. The Hitchhiker I 4x4 Large Hybrid Ion Engines and 4x1 Medium Hybrid Ion Engines are going to push her to Jool and hopefully back again! Initial Engine Tests revealed a steady thrust, no wobbles but even with all solar pannels deployed and in full sunlight the Energy drain is immense! I definitely have to add more Pannels or Reactors...
  7. The last couple of rockets I launched where between 300 and 500 parts with a mass of 1100-1400 tons
  8. Nice! I really have to revisit the Mun to place a flag there... something that wasn't possible on my previous visits.
  9. Oh yeah. Sunshine is totally awesome. Normally I listen to a mix ambient tracks, some Game soundtracks (like Endless Space which was already posted here) or Movie soundtracks. Also great is Adagio for Strings... doesn't even matter what version I do like the version from Homeworld though
  10. A particularly beautiful shot of the Hitchhiker I It is still awaiting assembly in Lower Kerbin Orbit and hasn't recieved her engines yet. With 3 of 4 Hitchhiker Engines attached - we are awaiting final engine delivery and the go for Hybrid Ion Engine Test tomorrow at 11:00 GKT In the Background the Skycrane I Orbital Delivery System about to return to Kerbin ... hope they have some use for melted space debris somewhere... Hitchhiker I's destiny is to go to Jool.... or explode... whichever happens first And I still need to design the 4 Rovers she'll be carrying...
  11. Well some Mods are great fun to play with and they don't break the stock feeling of the game by that much. But some things I would hate to miss. It is a good policy though to try something without aid first. Made my first rendevouz and docking procedure without any aids, now when I assemble things made from a multitude of parts I'd rather have a Rendevouz Autopilot and a Docking Camera handy. I still do the docking myself. Also I can't rely on any computer to get my insane creations safely into orbit
  12. Yes... there's hope Luckily the remote controlled Sky Crane doesn't hurt any Kerbals... at least not directly
  13. So it has been a couple of months since I started to assemble more or less successful rockets that may or may serve their intended purpose. But finally I decided to say hi to the community. I have had much fun with the game so far and I am certain I will be happily launching bigger and better rockets in the cycles to come.
  14. I think the learning courve ... however steep or shallow it might be is the bread and butter of KSP. You take one step at a time. First build something that doesn't explode on the launchpad 2nd build something that actually gets into space! 3rd achieve a (somewhat) stable orbit After that it gets really interesting - I tried to go for the Mun first obviously. Months later I still love it - something that clearly can't be said about every game
  15. Hello fellow Engineers! I heard you have to make a certain number of posts first before you can uplaod an avatar... well consider this the first then Been playing KSP for a while now, decided to poke around here as well instead of just lurking.
