I seem to be having an issue. In the KSC's menu, everything around the KSC is black. If I load a vehicle, the terrain is black and the KSC is in a huge pit.
-
I don't know why, but none of my RCS thrusters will work unless they're configured with stock Monopropellant. Some of them don't work at all. Is there any fix for this? I don't believe the issue is mod confliction, as they were working fine until a day or so ago. And for whatever reason, time runs at half speed. Realism Overhaul Help
Bluechance replied to Bluechance's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The only problem I have with the stretchable SRB's and super-stretchy tanks is that they're stuck at a ridiculously low width for some reason and they won't widen out any. I think it's probably the work of the RPL tweaks, but I have no idea how to get around or solve the issue. -
Realism Overhaul Help
Bluechance replied to Bluechance's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
yea, I'm using FAR and Real Fuels. Also on a side note, is there anyway to help reduce G forces for capsules on suborbital flights? My little rocket I just tested made it to about 5700 M/S before running out of fuel, the resulting G forces on descent killed my crew. -
I've gotten stuck in career mode (RSS, Realism Overhaul, RTT Lite tree) and I can't seem to make a rocket good enough to get into orbit without strapping a ridiculous amount of liquid cores onto the side (usually 6+ doesn't cut it, SFJB Real Engines in use by the way). What are the engines with thrusts below 100 kN even good for anyway? I can hardly even get a light payload up to 3000 m/s with my first stage, let alone push it into orbit with a TWR of .26. Also, getting a rocket to have 12000 m/s of delta-V, barely enough to reach orbit, requires something the size of Saturn V at the moment. What's the most optimal way to design spacecraft?

Not as far as I know unless Realistic Tech Tree Tweaks counts as an alternate config.

Gimballing for my engines seems to quit without warning. I lock and free the gimbals but it doesn't help. Mods I have installed: AIES, Clouds and City Lights, Deadly Reentry, Kerbal Engineer, FASA, Ferram Aerospace, KAS, Procedural Fairings, KerbX, KJR, kOS, KWRocketry, Infernal Robotics, Module Manager, NovaPunch2, PlanetFactory, RealChutes, RealFuels, Realism Overhaul, Real Solar System, RemoteTech2, Realistic Tech Tree LITE + Tweak Pack, Stretchy Tanks, TreeLoader, and Universe Replacer.

I'm using RemoteTech, so even if I don't have a direct connection the commands will still go through if the vessel in question is selected?
-
So I installed Realism Overhaul and all the recommended mods. Unfortunately, I've been hamstrung. Suppose I wanted to send a Curiosity style rover to Duna, and I want the probe to be pointing retrograde the whole time and stage at certain altitudes without me being in direct control of it. Are there any mods out there capable of doing this?
-
When I get to higher altitudes and speeds (generally around 10,000 Km.) my plane's nose refuses to point up. I'm literally forced to go back down. Is there any way to fix this extremely frustrating problem?
-
To be more specific, say my center of thrust is above or below my center of mass. How would this affect my craft? Say my center of lift is above but behind my center of mass? What changes would these bring about in the plane's maneuverability? I've been working on a relatively large cargo spaceplane for quite some time now, but I can't get it into orbit because when I activate my rocket thrusters high up, I can't bring the nose up long enough for significant change to come about. It just keeps forcing itself back down, but it doesn't go below the horizon on my navball. I can point it down to any degree, but not up.

I'm trying to get to Gilly, but it seems like I can only achieve a polar orbit/capture and have to use tons of fuel adjusting the inclination. Is there any way I can get to planets with different inclinations like Eve and achieve an equatorial orbit without having to use my remaining fuel supply? Thanks.
