  1. First of all, I have to say great work! I've been playing KSP since 2012, and I love having it on the console. The game is so complex, I'm impressed with how well you've condensed it down for the xBox controller. But... I'm having trouble reading the text in the map view. The font for my Apoapsis/Periapsis for example is so small I can't read them from 5 feet away on my 32" HD TV. Is there/could there be an adjustment for this in the future?
  2. I would love the chatter to mirror the Kerbals' emotion... I think panicked chatter and all-out screaming during intense moments would be hilarious...
  3. I tried changing the keyRotateSpeed in the cfg, but to no avail... I'll give the speed multiplier a shot. Thanks.
  4. Part request! Could you add a Motor? I'm trying to make a helicopter-like probe for planets with an atmosphere (but I don't just want to use Firespitter, I want to build my own rotors) and the Rotatron doesn't spin fast enough. I tried stacking Rotatrons, but that quickly got out of hand...
  5. I had thought about those problems too. My answer to Sceince spamming would be to make the accumulation of points taper off exponentially. The game wouldn't have to track the instruments real time, just simply record the time the experiment started and run the exponential equasion when the science is requested. They could also make an instrumen only capable of recording data for a limited amount of time... maybe a year... then if the data isn't retrieved in that time it would be lost. And you can only retrieve data once from an instrument, so you wouldn't simply have science points ticking in...
  6. Just a thought on scientific instrumentation; I think it would be great to have instruments that slowly build up science points while active, and those can be transmitted/recovered when the user decides it's been long enough. Instruments I can think of right now would be: Siesmometer Radiation Weather (wind speed and direction) Precipitation Atmospheric Spectrometer A variant of the Mystery Goo container (aging mystery goo?) Ant Farm (you know Kerbals would want to see an ant farm on Eve)... These instruments would build science very slowly, but could yield a large amount of Science if the player was patient... And of course the probe/lander would have to still be capable of transmitting or returning the data after sitting for so long. Whaddya think?
  7. I love building small unmanned craft. I'd like to see VAB support for smaller parts. (And of course small parts to build with...) I'm thinking something along the lines of CubeSats. Such craft would have very limited use, but would be an easy way to reach planets for the first time. A little inspiration: NASA CubeSat Initiative
  8. Nice job the_bT! I'm impressed with the scale of this operation. Your score breaks down as: +13 for 13 Modules (I am counting the tug as a module, as I have with other participants.) +255 for 255mT in Orbit +24 for 24 Kerbals on board -8 for refueling 5 times +2 for style Total : 286 points. We have a new leader on the leaderboard!
  9. Very nice Hodo! Very clean and precise. I also like seeing how many mods you are using. RemoteTech2 adds a little challenge too. I give you 2 style points. Your score breaks down as: +4 for 4 Modules +186 for 186mT in Orbit +8 for Kerbals on board -4 for refueling 4 times +2 for style Total : 196 points! And you're on the leaderboard.
  10. Beautiful! I really like the Starfish. Very Sci-Fi. Here's your score: +4 for 4 Modules +26 for 26 Tons -3 for 3 refuels +5 for 5 Kerbals +2 for style. Total: 34 points. I love the use of KAS, you really made this mod pay off.
  11. They would count as one module... The rule could have read 'at least four round-trips' but I thought it would be simpler to define that as 'modules' rather than 'trips'.
  12. I agree, but when I started this challenge I had no idea it would take on such a large and exotic scope! I'm trying to come up with a scoring system (and leaderboard) that would give more recognition to the enormous efforts and genius systems I have been seeing, but that's a difficult task! All I can say is keep it up guys, your stuff is amazing.
  13. Swifty : That is a really nice looking fleet. I don't think I'd have the patience to park them all so nicely... DerMeister777 : Hehehe... I absolutely love that refueling rover.
  14. I will allow this... if I remember correctly I allowed someone else to use hyperedit to refuel their Fuel Rover. I'll have to look back to see who it was.
  15. Wow gchristopher! You're either crazy or a genius... or both... That is amazing! Your score breaks down as: +6 for 6 Modules +228 for 228mT in Orbit +8 for Kerbals on board -9 for refueling 9 times +4 for style ( I know, I said 1-3 points for style... but this is so far above and beyond I don't think anybody will argue with me on this call. ) Total : 237 points. I think you just raised the bar on the complexity of this challenge!
  16. Very nice sdj64! I really like the look of that station. Also that's a very unique way of accomplishing a vertical launch with a horizontal payload attachment. I give you 2 style points! Your score breaks down as: +5 for 5 Modules +67 for 67.96mT in Orbit (Sorry, tonnage points have always been rounded down on this challenge... I have to remain consistent) +16 for Kerbals on board -5 for refueling 5 times +10 for completing all-stock +2 for style Total : 95 points. To the leaderboard with you!
  17. I completely agree. I would have to make a separate leaderboard for anyone using new boosters from the VAB or SPH as part of their refueling process. Hyperedit on the ground for the solid boosters would be more acceptable. But... I'm going to wait and see what people come up with before setting this in stone. There are some pretty creative people around here.
  18. Hmm... I'm interested. Would you mind making a small demonstration? One question though, why not just make liquid-fuel boosters to do the job?
  19. Aww man... sorry about that LordFjord! I'm glad you spoke up. Here's your score: +4 for 4 Modules +18 for 18.6 Tons -3 for 3 refuels +4 for 4 Kerbals +2 for style. Total: 31 points. Not a huge score, but this is a really beautiful setup. Nice Job!
  20. Wow gchristopher, I like your solution, it's so different than anything else I've seen! Good luck!
  21. Very cool. I can't call it an entry, but this is the first two-stage completely reusable system I've seen here. Very impressive.
  22. Well, this isn't really a rail gun... and I didn't get very far, but I had fun! I built a trebuche using Infernal Robotics. The unit: Launch! He's flying. Even Jeb's heart rate goes up a little when using this thing. Descent is a little undignified... Done. My distance:
