Can anyone tell me about how the xtra planetary launchpads work? I've played around with them and looked on the internet but I can't seem to build anything.

I love this idea, I have been wanting to do something like this for ages! I already started a youtube series ( ) -although the first episode is just me putting some com-satellites into orbit, as I am using remote tech.

If your planning on building a space station, I can give you a few tips: 1. if you have never rendezvoused before, then do some practise with some simple ships before attempting anything big. 2. Try to make each module light and symmetrical to give ease of launching 3. Try not to have to many parts or you will be regretting it a few modules later when your running at 2 fps 4. RCS is very useful for docking, I recommend using it. 5. Make sure RCS ports are inline with the centre of mass. This will help when translating laterally with RCS. 6. (general tip) Reaction wheels can turn or stabilise anything if you have enough 7. Finally, I recommend putting your station core in a circular, 0 inclination orbit, as otherwise it is a pain to rendezvous.
