Porkjet, would you be able to put up the latest SpaceplanePlus link on the first page of this thread and on the release thread? Just so we can easily grab the latest version without sifting through pages upon pages and so that we be assured we're downloading the latest release.

I'd love an asteroid named after a politician so we can nuke it to death.
I'm making a system based on current capabilities of the game engine which the devs are using (with exception to Uletis), so I don't yet want to add asteroids.
In regards to the names, currently none of the names, as far as I know, (apart from Eve) are in common English.

Funny coincidence, just yesterday I launched the craft which is going to do exactly that. Well, minus the apollo-style part. Looks more like one Deep Space Habitat concept.

The thing is sturdy, barely weighs 30 tons with empty tanks and can be easily configured for various purposes (slap NERVAs on it and you can return from Eeloo), so I'm thinking of releasing some variations once I polish and test them.
That thing is awesome. I've always wanted to do a fly-by mission, but I worry about the orbital maneuvering involved.

I'm going to bump this because it's a kludge that ruined one of my recent vehicles. I built an aeroplane designed to parachute probes down across Kerbin - a stylish way to grab all the different sorts of Science available. Or it would be, if the game didn't delete all my probes before they could land.
That's hardly the biggest concern in a case like this. Think about the 2.5k radius physics bubble that sits around your ship. The problem you'll still get is that the probes' parachutes won't deploy and you'll still lose them.

Woah. Most stock ISS replicas are not very well made, but this one is absolutely amazing. How's the part count on this beast?

The first main problem with making the X3 an SSTO is that it has no tanks with oxidizer. I could empty some of the tanks though, seeing as the thing has enough fuel to circumnavigate Kerbin possibly twice, and clip in some LFO tanks.
The second main problem is that it's too tail heavy, but that could probably be fixed with tweaking the fuel count too.

Give that the R.A.P.I.E.R engines are a new technology IRL in development AFAIK, I'm disappointed that they're not significantly better ISP and TWR-wise. I mean, is new tech not supposed to be much better than older tech?

I'll be honest, I agree with the distaste towards the barrel design. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the wide rim at the ends of the tanks. I think a re-model wouldn't be an unreasonable idea from an art style aspect
