Hey everyone! Sorry for bothering ye I'm sure this question has been answered many times already but I'm looking for a mod that'll allow me to map the surface of the mun so I can find a nice flat so I can land and build up my lunar base! Or if someone just wants to give me a set of coordinates that I can plug into mechjeb that'll also work! Thanks

Hello! So I decided to make a new and improved base, Base Beta. Another modular design but on a much larger scale, it's still in it's infancy (testing stage) at KSC but hoping to deploy is to the Mun and Maybe even Duna if all goes well! Here is the core module And after adding a few additional modules I'll be updating this as I go along and add new modules to keep an eye out! Also a big thank you to Speeding Mullet for letting me know about the LLL mod!

Successful VTOL designs using Firespitter?
Biker Joe replied to Biker Joe's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Thanks, Yes by multirotor I mean multiple rotors, like quadcopters and such but my designs never work, I tried adding some reaction wheels but no good, maybe I have to go over my designs more, I didn't pos any pictures cos they don't work! -
With my kethane refinery now full I decided I should build a fuel truck as I said earlier, but first I need a place to put the fuel once refined! so I made a fuel tank to transport to the Mun, not a great landing but I got it sorted! It's not in position ready to be used! I must say the base is coming along nicely now!
-
Didn't go with that design in the end but I think its he B9 Aerospace mod A must have in my book, loads of handy parts in it! Also the Infernal Robotics mod is very handy
-
Where is this place, I want to go there!
-
So with the Kethane mining issue (problems) resolved I turned my attention back to building up the base and sent a tunnel section to the mun, landed it successfully only to figure out that with the new mun crane the clearances don't work out too good and I can't lift it into place! Hour and a half of my life wasted! Tomorrows plan: edit the tunnel section and send it to the mun to make sure it works!

Hey all, I got the firespitter mod with the intention of making helos and multirotor craft but that seems to be easier said than done! A few of my smaller designs have worked but whenever I've tried to build a large scale VTOL/rotory craft things tend to go wrong very quickly! A little help please?

I Haven't been playing KSP all through the holidays so basically today was my first time playing the game in 2 weeks, decided I better do something... So I designed a Space Station! and sent it up into orbit around Kerbin with a circular orbit around 150k
-
Finally after many problems I got built a Kethane Refinery and sent it to the Mun, here is is i action! Works perfectly, I'm gonna build another one just for monopropellant and Xenon Gas so I'll have all the bases covered, next step is to build a silo to store the fuel once its converted to store it for use later on!
-
Send another ship with an empty seat and get it close to the stranded craft, then get Jeb to do an EVA to the rescue ship, simples...
-
He's on the Mun overseeing the kethane mining/converting operation...
-
I can't find the patcher in my version of KSP to perform the update! HELP!
-
I built a fuel tank for my kethane refinery and sent it to the mun, now to land it and hook it up...
-
Just curious as to why mining bases are built?
Biker Joe replied to dommcq's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I started off my Mun base because I saw it as a challenge! And the whole kethane mining thing gives you something to do and a reason behind everything, and adds to the challenge a bit which is fun! -
Sorry guys for the silly question but i've how do I get the fuel out of one tank and into the other? I have them connected but can't do anymore, am I missing something? EDIT: The kethane is in the mining vehicle on the left, I want to transfer it to the refinery on the right, I know there's no fuel/rcs tanks on the refinery they're to be attached later using the docking ports on the refinery
-
Added another section to my mun base And landed my first kethane mining rig on the mun!
-
After the success I had the last day I was in a good mood and thinking of al the things I could do/build/send to the mun! I decided to build a mobile Kethane mining machine... The plan is to have 3/4 of these (if not more) on the mun and a central refinery located at the mun base with "trucks" bringing the kethane to the refinery and more "trucks" to carry the refined fuel to silos...
-
Well I had to change up the design of the tunnel section a bit to make them work but got there in the end! It's starting to build up nicely! It's on a pretty big deposit of Kethane so my next plan is to build and send up a mobile drilling rig, a refinery and storage tanks!

Part snap rotation in VAB
Biker Joe replied to Biker Joe's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Tried it, doesn't work -
So I sent another tri-module to the Mun... The landing wasn't as successful as the other one But I got it righted and collected by the muncrane, next task, docking it to the base! Successfully done, this is my setlement on the mun as of now, tunnel section are on their way!
-
After the successful landing of the new crane design onto the mun I sent up the first module to attach to the mun base! And it successfully landed on the mun! So I sent the crane to go get it and start the docking process! (in the background you can see munbase alpha waiting for the module!) Unfortunately as I was going to dock the first module setting it up using the crane I somehow went to some debris part which had fallen into the mun? and the module part did the same??? so I have to go do it all again tomorrow:mad:
-
So after building a new Mun Crane using gantries and hydraulics from the Infernal Robotics mod I tried it out by setting up a mock of my Mun Base at KSC... Happy Days! My ambitious rocket to send it to the Mun! It worked! got it into a good orbit around Kerbin and did a burn to head off to the Mun! The new Mun Crane is now safely on the Mun's surface waiting for the first pieces to arrive!
-
Ok so I tried using the crane system on the mun and it didn't go so well... there's just not enough gravity! so I came up the an idea using powered hinges and gantries I'm gonna make a device with which I can pick up the sections and maneuver them into place! I'll throw up a few pics after I build it and send it to the mun!
