  1. Well now I need to know. Did you have enough power to deploy the chutes and get Jeb safely back to Kerbin to enjoy his *ahem* mint ice cream?
  2. Is there any reason to use one of the other antennae besides the Communotron 16? The other ones just seem bulky and resource suckers comparatively. What are your thoughts?
  3. Ok so I started a new save. Now what? What do I look for and where do i stick it? - - - Updated - - - I thnk I got it. I just added a folder labeled "SPH" to the same directory that had "VAB" and it seems to have it working.
  4. I cannot save or launch anything from my SPH building. I cannot leave the building and none of the buttons work. I have to close the game and reload it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have TAC-LS Module Manager Science Funding Station Science Kerbal Engineer Stage Recovery Greenhouse MK1 I am running this on a 32 bit install. thanks!   6. For some reason I can only seem to get the parts to come up. They dont do anything once I am flying and there is no build aid window in the VAB. Any help would be great.   7. I am having trouble getting the build aid menu to come up in the VAB. It also is not draining resources when I am flying a rocket. The parts show up in my build menus though. I know there have been some posts about this next problem But I am struggling as I am not a developer or any good with computer coding. But, the parts zoom in until they dissappear in the build menus. Is there a workaround I could implement? If not its not a big deal I can still get the parts on my ship.   8. How do you tell which version of KSP you have on windows? I can't tell if it is the 64 bit or 32 bit.
  9. After half a week of messing around I finally got the TAC-LS mod installed among others. (I am not computer illiterate I am just not a computer engineer.) The downside is it screwed up my save. The upside is I get to start over!! EDIT: Just wanted to share my success with everyone. Sooooo happy.

  11. I am having issues getting TAC-LS working on my game. I have ModuleManager downloaded. But TAC-LS parts are not showing up in my sandbox game. Any help would be appreciated!
  12. For Latin being a dead language it would be pretty useful to at least be able to read it if not speak it as well.
  13. I have been reading in some threads that there is a mod that gives kerbals you take to space supplies/snacks that they survive off of? I think that would be a great mod to add for realism. thanks!

  15. well thats just annoying. Thanks for the answers guys! I will have to ponder on this conundrum more. I am excited if I can get this to work though. It would save having to try risky landings in bumpy terrain.
  16. Hi all! I have been working all day on this and I can't get it to work. So here is the setup... I want to have a plane that can drop a probe/rover from a cargo bay and let the probe/rover land via parachutes while the plane flies on. I have been able to attach my rover to an unmanned rocket and retrieve both and I have been able to drop the rover on the landing strip from a cargo plane. But for some reason i can not deploy the rover from a flying aircraft. I switch over to it and see the chutes are deployed but when I switch back to my plane and land it the rover is nowhere to be found! Below are some pictures of my plane and rover. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  18. I am trying to take some pictures in game. How do I do this? I tried Alt+PrntScr and I am not sure that worked. Where would it pop up on my computer if it did? Thanks for the help.
  19. Thanks guys. I just read Keptin's basic intro to Airplanes. I probably should have done that before yesterday. It was really good. Very easy to understand albeit a lot of different concepts all at once. Hopefully this weekend I can play some more and tinker with control surfaces and angle of incidence to get a better take off.
  20. Hey guys, just wanted to update since I found the time to play yesterday finally! I read some other threads on basics to aeroplane building... I actually got a plane off the ground and made it to the island runway!!! Then I crashed...whoops. But even so! That was so exciting! I do have some more questions. 1. The plane didn't actually get off the ground until the runway ran out. I noticed that the stock wings didn't have any of the moving parts you typically find a plane (elevons, they are called?). Is this why my plane wouldn't take off? I also noticed the pitch was horrendous while flying. 2. Every time i tried to turn my plane left or right while leveled out it wanted to completely roll so the wings were vertical. Any help with that would be nice. thanks guys
  21. I wanted to start messing with plane design since I thought it would be easier for me to get around Kerbin to get the science from all the different biomes. However, the "basic" jet engine is at the 3rd or 4th tier of science. What? How does that make any sense? meh.

  23. So I have been perusing the forum reading some interesting threads and I was wondering what exactly is an "action group"? What is its purpose? Also, how do you use it in the game? It seems like it may be useful... thanks.
