  1. Ok survey stakes/building in situ are doing my nut in. I've got a Honeybadger (from FTT) with plenty of rocket parts and an origin survey stake 15m away, when I pull up the Build UI I get all the correct options, I can pick a pad, I can choose the origin stake as my build point (it even highlight if i ask it to), I can choose what I want to build from the SPH, it all loads and shows that it is ready to start building, But when I press 'Build' nothing happens the progress bar says '0% 00:00:00'. I know it does work because I had it building from the same vessel earlier in the same session, I've not come out of the game or changed anything the only thing I can think of is I'm up against a limit on rocket parts or part count, are there limits on these? the vessel I'm trying to build is 61383 rocket parts Req (I have 65000 on site) and 160 Parts big. Any ideas?
  2. B5 is my fav sci-fi Tv series, the spin-offs - Crusade & legend of the rangers not so much but crusade was watchable. and filled in some of the back story and unanswered questions left in the main show. Would love to see some of the B5 stuff in KSP. films that are a bit more thought provoking try Gattaca & Kpax neither are your average sci-fi. Gattaca asking the question should we modify our children to make them the best they could be and what would be the consequences for humanity if we did. And Kpax just for the play off between Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. Books or rather Authors who haven't been mentioned yet- the big three of Isaac Asimov (the foundation series, The Robots series), Arthur C Clarke (Childhoods End, The Sentinel (the sentinel is the original story that Stanley Kubrick and Clarke developed into 2001-A space odyssey), Rama series, the 2001-2010-3001 books) & Robert Heinlein (Stranger in a strange land, The puppet masters) of course, but also Iain M. Banks (The player of games, The wasp factory), Philip k. D ick << not a bad word the authors name!! (minority report, Do androids dream of electric sheep (a.k.a. BladeRunner)), David Brin (the uplift series) Ray Bradbury (Fahrenheit 451) I've just started on the John Brunner books, Into the slave nebula & Stand on Zanzibar. Stand on Zanzibar is hard going at first but worth it if you stick with it. I was on the 4th chapter before I even figured out what world the book is set in and prob chapter 7 or 8 before the story starts to come through. Any one who has a kindle or Google play books can now get a lot of the old Sci-fi Authors who have been out of print thanks to the publishing houses going back and releasing digital versions of the nebular award winners back catalogues
  3. I've been using SCANsat for biome mapping in 0.23. It works really well and is integrated into the career mode too. AE
  4. Right then I've just done these bench mark thingys, totally new to this so I've kinda gone over kill a bit there is probably wayyyy too much info here but wasn't sure exactly what you needed basicly all the graphics settings are all the way up & Set the physics delta slider all the way to the right; a physics delta-time per frame of 0.03s. Turned off V-sync. Launched the rocket without any additions or modifications in a fresh sand box session of KSP (didn't launch or fly anything else before this rocket). Flew straight up until out of fuel and stages. did 2 runs of the following, 1st just recording FPS data, 2nd recording FPS, Frame Rate & max/min/average. (once I'd figured out how fraps works) 2x Looking slightly up, No horizon visible, View stayed fixed 2x Side view of rocket, Horizon visible, View stayed fixed 2x Moved view around as I felt like PM'ed the resulting .csv files over to DMagic or look here Then had a look at CPU-Z whew, over my head most of it, but got it to save a txt report. Here are the highlights (again sorry if it is more than you need) Think my Graphics card is holding me back should really get round to upgrading it.
