totm oct 2023 Post Your Cinematics Here! (Cinematic Enthusiasts)
It'snorocketscience replied to Halban's topic in KSP Fan Works
Good work hatbat! Everything was great all-round, except for the KSC scene. It was good, but I found the AA defenses quite unrealistic for my expectations. Why would two different defenses be right next to each other? That strategically does not make sense as both can be easily wiped out. And both defenses kept missing... real AA's don't do that for long. Perhaps a squadron of fighter-bombers make it through in numbers or ground units come in first to wipe out the AA's. More AA's would've been better (then again, one can only do so much) as an expensive military/science facility would/should be more heavily defended. As you probably know, this cinematic has a little visible lag, I don't know about you but I like smoothness more than quality. There are a few other things, related to realism but that's probably my creativity interfering. Cinematics don't have to be realistic. -
Hello all, I've been tweaking my settings alot, and now I discovered that the engine flames in KSP have gone horribly wrong! I've tried undoing the settings I've tweaked, but I can't solve the problem: If you need more info, let me know, but I didn't provide any because I think I missed a setting. I discovered that the liquid fuel engines in the game don't have this problem... are the boosters supposed to look like that?

Hey Hatbat (a hat with a bat or a bat with a hat?), Remember the "spirit of kerbin" trailer/teaser from september 2014 you made? How's that going, or is it still under wraps? Just one thing i wanted to suggest about that video (I know its old) that perhaps you should've used the original video (Macey's footage of The battle for Laythe in black-and-white to review) that macey published so long ago. Then, on the original video, after captain says "this is an outrage!" you add in your own part. I know that is technically a copyright violation, but you mimicked the original video closely (spaceplane quickly flies over that bump in the island, stops close to base) that you technically already violated copyright, but nobody seems to mind. I know macey's video wasn't the smoothest, but the original footage perfectly describes the scenario, because it is the scenario. I've been thinking of creating my own sequel to commemorate macey dean and his unfinished KSP series, (of course, the plot after the spaceplane-laythe base confrontation would be different), but I'm worried that might bother you, because you're doing that and the intro would be very similar to the corresponding parts of two other videos (you and Macey's). And although the chance is small, there is a probability that the plots of our future videos may be similar in a bad way. What do you think/say? P.S. Sorry for my confusing usage of words, but that's the best that I could word what I wanted to say. -

Ah, hello Hatbat and all here, I've started playing KSP again for the first time in almost a year. I wanted to ask you, when you guys say "tight" when referring to video editing, do you mean that the video has been edited to the point where only the best-of-the-best or most relevant footage is on-screen? Hatbat, could you edit your first post and add a bunch of useful things such as what mods to use (for smooth camera movements and visual effects) and other bits and pieces that others will need for making good cinematics? Thanks in advance. -
If only I could put down a picture of what I've made so far... (Note: This explosion screenshot is not that of my HKA crafts, I had to scavenge a screenshot of an explosion because I didn't take any while building prototypes for HKA).
-
Oh wait... sorry. Darn, I need a substitute VTOL engine now...
-
Sorry, I knew it was GMI, but I typed something else on the keyboard. Firespitter is included as part of B9 aerospace for KSP 0.25 if I am correct. The only problem is that it give me a message (while loading the game) that indicates it is not compatible with KSP 0.25. Therefore, being part of B9 areo space, It is allowed because B9 aerospace is allowed. However, I had to update Firespitter however for it to work for me.
-
Yes... I was thinking of making some sort of Aerial Assault helicopter... probably using some firespitter (if that mod is in our pack, I haven't played KSP in a little while) rotor blades. Anyone got any ideas for that? Also... are we going to do any naval... stuff? I got some ideas to make some boats using MK2 stock parts, but would we ever use boats? {=---Please Keep Secret from GMA Scientists and GMA Themselves---=}

Hello, just one last question before i post my stuff... Hatbat, haven't you said we should put all our crafts into one post? It seems people are not doing that however.
-
So... we can't use warp drives if we're making stuff for HKA?
-
OH NO! I've almost forgot about the deadline! Whoops... Better start pumping out crafts.

I thought up of a new craft design idea... something a bit easier to control (than a VTOL that requires you to cancel out all motion if you want to land/hover), and a bit more like a plane. Anyways, do you remember me? -

I'm afraid i have to tell you, it's adobe premier, and that is expensive. But if you like the UI, it's really boss, The Best Video Editor. But there's the Videopad video editing software by NCH, its better than WMM (You can actually add more than 1 caption at once!). -

It's about time I start a new youtube channel, and do it right. -
Should we manufacturers and companies take sides and make our own threads for spacecraft submissions? We could submit them so that GMI/HKA corporations (or GMI/HKA themselves!) don't find out and copy/steal/replicate our designs. We could then discuss ideas for building spacecraft, but away from the "enemy".

Cinematics are great: With Cinematics, you can't make parodies. (Most of the time you can't). -
MOAR! *Jiggles and shakes*

YEAH! (word jiggles around in a highly annoying manner) I've through your entire channel, this is what i've been waiting for!!

I know my camera movements are fast, but i was lazy. At the risk of asking something irrelevant: Can i get advice/help with making an outro for my channel? Like, not for cinematics (because an outro would be rather informal in my opinion) but for my other videos of KSP. -

Alright, I have something in return. I have created my first cinematic ever. What do you guys think of it? Please let me know, I have just ventured into the cinematic world and want to see what my audience thinks! Ya, this is not my best work, this was only a "stepping stone" you could call it. I know the video image is.. not very artistic, but after all, the video matters more, right? -
Hi everyone! ...If you go around the forum as it is today, and take a look at the KSP fan Work threads (or the equivalent in any other forum with such a section), and see how many new posts are, well, posted every day. You small Youtubers out there, feel the pain? Everyday, people post stuff there all the time, over congestion is a huge problem. Whether deserving the attention or not, so many people (OK, i succumb to it as well, I must suck at this youtube thing, get my point?). And all those bigger youtube-ing entities "hog" all the views, either on the forum, or in the *X_X* Must-Not-Be-Named-World-of-YouTube, right? So, y'know the saying "There's strength in numbers."? I thought that would apply to this problem, so, we could post all our videos here and support one another, and while viewers come to this thread, they'll look through this and get to browse what videos are posted here. So, just post your comedy videos here, in a semi-formal manner, (as in, don't use that "begging" attitude that some may use. Sorry for my rudeness...). Just post the best of your "crop" here, videos you think that should be put here. I know Danny2462 is pulling attention away from your stuff. I think I know the success to his secret, he thinks his videos over a long time and makes sure they're as professional yet funny at the same time, and adds his professional touch, which everyone really likes! So, to get us started, here is my best comedy video: What funny things do you guys have in store? Let me know, post your stuff in a semi-professional manner, and take a look at all the posts here! Don't forget to look closely at those YouTube Giants for ideas and tips for yourself!

Is this going to be that tribute to Macey Dean? Skipping to 2:41 ignites a feeling of loss I cannot describe. That cinematic preview looks great man! Definitely will be great. I need to review more cinematics, there are so many cool-looking ones on this thread I haven't seen.
