  1. We all already know that the limitations of the unity engine means that parts cannot be connected to 2 parents at a time...but; from just playing for a short while I can see that all the required programing is already in place to have a possible work around. Here's the concept: 1. The debug menu has to be activated and "no part clipping" has to be selected before you can place parts that overlap. This tells me that there is code in the game that recognizes when 2 parts who are on different tree branches are touching. 2. Struts can be used to stabilize a craft by creating an artificial branch linking 2 different tree paths. Therefore...Why not create a button that creates an invisible super strong strut-like connection linking any parts that the game recognizes as overlapping? This would in theory make the VAB a heck of a lot easier to actually use because we would no longer have to manually add jungle-gym strut atrocities covering our beautiful creations.
  2. Alright, so I figured out what the problem is. The front of the SSTO is a small lander that is just strong enough to land and return to orbit from any place except Eve and Laythe. Problem is, I'm using Quantum struts to keep it in place because the docking port isn't nearly strong enough. Apparently, Quantum struts can sometimes lock a plane in place. (I say sometimes because my heavy lift shuttle uses them to stabilize the cargo, and it flies fine) I'm not really sure what exactly causes this, but I guess I need to completely re-think my plans of using interplanetary SSTOs if I can't get a lander to safely dock to it for the return trip
  3. I already mentioned in first post that toggling brakes doesn't help. The second pic can't show it very well, but I removed the mod'd girders and used vanilla structural parts. It still doesn't help.
  4. Ok, so recently I've been having a problem with landing gear being stuck to the runway. I mean like stuck as in even kicking in rockets for a nearly 4:1 wtr doesn't even budge them. I've tried toggling brakes, and nothing. I've tried removing the landing gear and placing them differently, still nothing. Here is a pic of the plane on the runway: Note how the rear landing gear isn't even settling on the ground. The front landing gear is so stuck to the runway that it actually holds the plane up. Now, just to clarify that this isn't an issue with the engine thrust being blocked by the rear wings, here's a pic with those rear wings removed: The plane still won't even budge. Thrust vectoring will make the plane wobble as if it's trying to move, but the landing gear are firmly cemented to the ground. Any help would be appreciated.
