  1. I'm 13, and Like to build very controllable and sensible spaceplanes and rockets, unless I want to unleash my anger and make something stupid, like the Buttson Burner.(below)Genenand and Bilvey are the test subjects.
  2. I tend to like going visual with PAPI .it's just direct info coming straight from the ground to where you are.Plus, ILS confuses me...
  3. Maxander, how much of that fuel did you use?
  4. Actually I haven't tried returning...I'll check it out tonight. btw Fox62, What do you mean?
  5. Whoa...Voidryder now I know what happened;Thank you all for explaining.Glad I wasn't there...
  6. Holy...Glad I joined in Sep.2013 then...How did people "survive?" p.s.I already did some searching,nothing came up.
  7. Welcome Aboard!Everyone on the forums will be glad to help you! p.s.Great Intro!!!
  8. A lot of people have in their signatures"I survived the April 2013 Kraken attack"Or something like that.I wasn't around in April,so...What happened?
  9. I used KWRocketry for my Saturn V.I actually got it to the Mun with fuel to spare.
  10. (Note: If you want version 2 of this craft, scroll down a bit.)If you're one of those people like me that doesn't like to dock, and still wants to visit other planets, then look no further, for you have clicked on the right thread,my friend. Ladies And Gentlemen:The APSIS(All-Purpose Small Interplanetary Ship)!!!This beauty can take any Noob to Eve,Moho,Duna,Dres,Jool,Eeloo and any of those planet's Moons with ease.Check out some of my screenshots: Here is the ship.I have a mainsail in the middle with 6 skippers surrounding it.Next stage is 3 FLT-800 tanks with 1 Nuke engine. And finally, the lander with an FLT-400 tank with two Rockomax 24-77 radial engines, along with chutes, ladders, solar panels, and gear. Here is a BEAUTIFUL shot of the rocket,Ike,and Duna. Here is the lander on Duna's Ice cap with Andas Kerman. Here is Eve while I was in a parking orbit. And here was the lander on Eve with Shepdas Kerman. And I did this all in one day.The moral of the story is:You don't have to be an expert to go interplanetary. Here is the Craft:http://www./download/1n96a8eh170l2bx/APSIS.craft Happy Exploring!!! APSIS II Fits all of the above amazingness, but with less complicatedness! .24.2 compatible. Craft File:Here Happy Refreshed Exploring!
  11. So today, i was sorta proud of myself because I got a Jool Encounter and flyby.Problem was, I only got my PE down to about 580,000,000m...which you can't get much of a "Flyby" from that perspective. Here is the rocket I used to get there(no docking required).I used Mainsails for the outer liquid fuel boosters, and a skipper on the inside.I did not use Asparagus staging, just all the outer tanks feeding the inner one. After that,I have an FLT-800 w/ an LVT-45.On the outside is two FLT-400 tanks w/ two LVT-30 engines.Or vice versa. Anyway,After THAT,I have the probe core,an FLT-200 tank and one ant engine.One.ant.engine.And that got me to Jool,No joke. And here was my best viewpoint.I had to circle Jool cause i was so far away. The point is,How can I improve on this design while keeping the same"One rocket"idea?Post any suggestions you have Below.
  12. I've never had to rescue any of my kerbals Though i've started landing the Idiot ones like Genenand Kerman on the south pole
  13. I actually did just that...with a probe
  14. I kept forgetting to add an SAS module when I first started,so I remember to do that now. Also,I remember to add Ladders when I go to the moon. BIGGEST THING:It may look like you have enough fuel, but it will come back and bite you like when I only got to Eve orbit with a LANDER.THAT SUCKED.
  15. It's just liquid fuel I take and I will subtract 10 points for a landing, thanks for asking, just getting an orbit is worth a subtracted 50 points,I will update that.
  16. Nice work Pds314,Could've never gotten to Duna with the Ants,Much less get there with a regular rocket. My probe was a miracle.
  17. no i've never had so many things in orbit at once to collide.
  18. Thanks,I can't seem to get through gate 3 though, and I've tried 3 different designs now...so I raged and decided to kamikaze all of the gates, that also took me 3 designs... I'm a noob
  19. Challenge Accepted!!! but where exactly do I put the persistent?
  20. Only 2 people completed the challenge though...
  21. ATTENTION ALL INSANE ROCKET BUILDERS!!! I would like to see how high you can get with the Radial LV-1R rockets. I did it and got to 77,265m. RULES:1:You can only use LV-1R and LV-1 rockets;no other rockets may be used.2:all command pods and unmanned pods are allowed.3:We are strictly going for altitude;nothing else!4:You can use multiple stages.5:NO MODS ALLOWED!!!ALL STOCK PLEASE!!! Your score is your AP altitude if you only get to orbit. If you go interplanetary,You score yourself with the scoring at the bottom. Post a screenshot of your flight and your mission debriefing in your reply.(I know I didn't post mine,But you could probably beat me anyway) Highscores: 1.Kasuha-19,420,751,078-Orbital 2. 3. 4. 5. Interplanetary highscores: 1.gm537-Score:1684-Kerbol Escape 2.Pds314-Score:1247-Duna 3. 4. 5. GOOD LUCK!!! UPDATE:If you can go interplanetary somehow, here is the interplanetary scoring system. With this scoring, you want to get as least points as possible.DOCKING TO MAKE BIGGER SHIPS IS NOT ALLOWED. +1 for every unit of fuel burned +5 for every stage you use -20 for every one of Kerbin's moons you can get to(orbit) -50 for any other planet or moon you can get to(orbit) -10 for a landing -100 for a return home -350 for Kerbol Escape Disqualified for any mods used Remember to post your launch with your staging visible and your mission debriefing.
  22. Ya I have trouble with planes too, for extra stability turn on the center of mass and center of lift in the SPH and make sure the center of lift is slightly behing the center of mass, that'll help
  23. I don't think real planes are that hard,I can land a Learjet perfectly in a simulator, but I just leave a grease spot on the runway in KSP:P
  24. So, as you may see in my sig, I miraculously got a probe in orbit around Duna,Just running out of fuel as I got there. So I can do it perfectly every time, is there a rule of thumb for a Duna encounter?I already have a ship with enough delta V, But how can I get there easily without having to guess when to burn? P.S. I don't want to have to orbit Kerbin first either.Just straight up.
