  1. It has been stated in the original post that you can do both. It is said to build your own plane, but there is an offered alternative with no penalties to use a pre-made combat plane that is given with the save file.
  2. I'm really excited for this, unfortunately it seems my computer (and it ain't a punny "computer", its more!) can't handle the massive part count. I'd suggest that instead of reducing the number of vessels, you remake them with less part. I know it's more work than to simply remove them, but it would keep the difficulty. Also, it would be neat to have some way to measure the level of achievement through a scoring system.
  3. The current solution for EVA parachutes is this mod: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/25305
  4. Check your surface scattering slider in the graphic pannel of the option menu. Turn it to the max and I can guarantee you'll see plenty of rocks.
  5. Constructing buildings in dangerous zones seems like a very kerbal-ish thing to do.
  6. This is so beautiful I cried manly tears. EDIT: I'm having a problem with the Quantum Vacuum Thruster: no matter the configuration, it doesn't fire up and says: "ElectricCharge deprived!". Anyone knows how to fix this?
  7. Banned for banning with little to no reason.
  8. Horus, from what I saw in the code, this module isn't the one appropriate for engines. I've tried adding the module that seemed to be responsible (sorry, no code here, I need to re-install the mod) for air-cooling to radial air intakes, but in-game they always appear to be "offline". I must admit that this engine overheat because of super-sonic speed is what really bother me in this mod. Would it work with radial intakes, I would have no problems with it.
  9. Yes it is! I placed it there for the science crew.
  10. What's the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow? Well, it depends on wether you are talking of an European or an African swallow. For the European, it is estimated to be around 11 m/s and it is yet unknown the air speed of the African. However, the Kerban swallow is pretty badass, with an average cruise speed of 1,691 m/s at 26 km, it has nothing to fear of the puny swallows of the Earth. This little bird is highly stable and agile at low speed and altitude and maintains a good stability at high altitude (compared to other planes, you still have to watch it). Be aware tough that this is a very nervous plane around it's cruise speed and altitude, so pay attention! For slowdown, I recomend about a 25% to 50% of Kerbin to go from cruise speed to a speed at which you can do some decent turns (Mach 1-2). So be aware of your speed when trying to land at KSC not to overshoot it. I have plans to add some air-brakes as soon as I find a mod other than B9 that offers them. The mods used are the following: - SpacePlane + (1.3) - FerramAeroSpace You can get it here.
  11. If you are still looking for a programmer for the geiger, i'm in! I just need to know what system and/or language should be used, after this is cleared, we can ge on to more technical details.
  12. Looks nice. i'm looking forward to the next update though.
  13. As I saw this mod, a radiant beam of light fell from the sky and a chorus of angels sang to this divine blessing that is this mod. Thank-you!
  14. Forum-wide 502 error for 5 minutes at 21:41 UTC-3.
  15. Indeed, it is most unpleasing to be so often switching view when launching/entering atmosphere only to check the altitude. I also agree with FishInferno: staging should be accessible in map view.
  16. The reason you spin out of control is because the top of your rocket is heavier than it's bottom.
  17. Really faster than any other parts. I did a test mixing stock parts, b9's and yours. The parts from this mod broke but none of the others.
  18. Gorgeous mod! However, is it only me or are the parts connection rather fragile? FAR destroyed my plane rather fast (this had never happened in 1 year!) due to air stress. Anyway, this is a great mod and I am looking forward to see it in the future.
  19. Sorry for the double post. But i've just made it back to KSC and updated my submission here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/58360-Global-Transport-Vehicle-Challenge-YOU-VOTE?p=783145&viewfull=1#post783145
  20. I think sub-orbital in KSP term is any apoapsis over 50km tough, after that KSP automatically sets your speedometer in Orbital mode, furthermore over 35km theres so much no atmospheric drag that you can easily travel the whole planet while barely using any fuel if you have wings in both Ferram and stock KSP.
  21. So here is my entry: The Aeroporter! A marvellous plane with the capacity to bring across the globe a load of 16.54 tons! So stable that's it's primary mean to drop payloads is to fly on it's back, open it's cargo bay then para-dropping it! So here are the pictures: In the hangar: Pre-flight check (you can see the load, it's a 3.5m rocket fuel tank): Dropping the first set of external tanks: Dropping the last set of tanks (skipped the second set): Reaching the unexpected high speed of Mach 3 (on Ferram with a plane designed with in mind to not crossing the speed of sound, that's great WOOOT!): Landed at the drop's coordinate (before the drop): Preparation for the flip: In the flip: Yes that's right! A freaking Boeing like plane flying upside-down without stalling at low-speed, that's what I call Stability! Payload dropped! : For the rest of the circumnavigation, i'll do the rest and post the final results tomorrow, it's getting late. EDIT: PS: Someone knows how to make spoilers to hide images? EDIT2: So i've finished my mission: Never thought it could achieve such a speed and make it to such a high ceiling, my comeback voyage was MUCH shorter: After landing at KSP: So here is score: Achievements: - Mum?! : landed at KSP +8 points - Bring Your Kids To Work Day : 3 kerbals onboard +3 points - How Much Gravity On This Damn Planet? : 16.5 tons payload + 8 points Total score: 19 points
