  1. For aerobraking, all you need is to set your periapsis to an altitude that the atmosphere starts to kick in and reduces your speed. What I do is I set my periapsis to 24km (For Kerbin), which gives me plenty of aerobraking, for small or large vessels.
  2. For those of you who believe that there is intelligent life out there and that they come here to Earth every so often, here is a website that has recently published disclosed UFO files (which may be or not ET craft) by the USAF: http://projectbluebook.theblackvault.com/ Enjoy!
  3. Acredito que a tradução para outros idiomas vai ser realizada mais quando o jogo estiver terminado. Abraços pro pessoal.
  4. Ah, yes, there's always something to my Duna trips, something eventually goes wrong, haha. Thanks for the tips though.
  5. Yeah, I've left them on full throttle until they ran out of fuel. I am using quicksaves, thankfully, I will try your tactic armagheddonsgw. Thanks for the help guys.
  6. Ok, so I have tried jettisoning them with no success, the fairings and docking ports remain in the same place. I have also tried throttling up to max to try an explosion due to overheating but no luck. The engines DO work, fuel gets consumed and all but there is no thrust. Docking a new cluster of engines seems like a fix, but I won't be able to land it, since it will touch the ground first, most likely blowing it up. I am seriously considering the ramming of something.
  7. Ah, sorry, yes, indeed they are engines with docking ports attached TO the engines! I will try a better photo. Edit: I hope it's been made clearer
  8. Hi guys, I need help on the follow mishap when I was constructing my vessel: I've tried things like, landing on top of it resulting in blowing everything up including the engine and smashing my Kerbal on it (poor Bob). I need suggestions on how to get this thing out of the way so I can return to the mothership in orbit!
  9. Sure, you can strap on SRBs to stop a car, but what about the people inside the car itself? Inertia. Airbags, bumpers, all are made to increase the time of the contact, that's what keeps the passengers alive (or at least tries to) inside the car during a collision. I believe the best way to avoid crashes, especially high speed crashes such as in highways, are what I call "Intelligent highways", and they must work along cars, to detect a recent collision and once the car is located in that radius (let's say a 1km radius), the system fires and reduces the speed of all of the cars in that area, very similar to the Yellow Flag we see on races, except this will all be done through computer systems and automatically, so basically the car will slow itself down, whether the driver wants it or not.
  10. How do I place struts while on EVA using this mod? Can't seem to be able to do it.
  11. Yeah, I go against all environmental law, if there is any in Kerbin, I tend to leave everything just floating around so perhaps one day I'll crash into something or get that cold chill on my spine when passing really near a piece of debris.
  12. Oh, long duration pictures, interesting. Thanks for the answer. Like I've said before, I will try to get an ISS pass-by on video then I'll post it here, hopefully.
  13. What is that trace in the sky? On my 2 ISS sightings I don't see it and I've noticed you and PakledHostage both have pictures of it with a trace.
  14. Nice pictures, I am also planning to get it on film. Well, yes, Stellarium is a really good engine, though you'll have to fast-forward it everytime hoping the ISS appears, though everything is valid
  15. Unless you got something to hide from them, the information you have to disclose is minimal in comparison to all the benefits you get from actually seeing the ISS, though that is only my opinion and I don't want to turn this into a discussion.
  16. Hello guys, me and my friend heard about this and I've decided to share it with you guys, This is NASA's work and it alerts the registered users about the ISS, so you can spot it with your naked eye! It's a simple registration on this website: http://spotthestation.nasa.gov/ Once you put your location and finish the registration part, it will automatically send you E-mails to you about When, Orientation, Time of appearance and how long will it last in the sky. I can attest everyone here that I've seen the ISS more than once, and the timing is perfect. Unfortunately I don't have any device that aids me (telescopes, binoculars, etc) though you can clearly see it with you naked eye, it is really breath-taking and I really wanted everyone to know about it, since most of us are really enthusiasts with space and its wonders. Have fun!
  17. I do like the concept of a stronger linkage between the docking ports, though welding it permanently isn't quite what I want, mostly because it is an irreversible action, which doesn't seem to fit under the whole "Kerbal vision", where "rewinding" a failure in order to correct it is an option.
  18. I have the same mods and I've been noticing that. In my case, they have exploded due to high g-forces, try checking on F3 to see the reason. it might help.
  19. Is it during the reentry itself, with the flames and all? If it is, turn your Aerodinamic FX bar down. If not, try to check for your mods to see if they're all 0.23 compatible.
  20. I just love building stuff and watching it function. Seeing it go beyond expectations just makes me want to build more and more.
  21. I've had this problem and fixed it by updating all of my mods to the correct compatibility, so make sure ALL your mods are 0.23 compatible.
  22. What I normally do is I zoom out from my ship and try to get the camera to catch your target ship in a way you can easily click the port. Works for me .
  23. What we need to have in our minds is that nothing is perfect, and it will always eventually fail, no matter how good the engineering or the preparation was. The Soyuz has a completely different design when comparing to the shuttle, and I can say it is like comparing a motorcycle to a car. Yes, both (Soyuz/Shuttle) take people to space, but both were made with different things in mind. This doesn't stop Russia from making a shuttle-like craft, neither the US making a rocket "Soyuz-like". So I believe this argument will pretty much get anywhere, since they are two completely different projects. Once both countries make a craft that have similar designs, then the conversation will change.
  24. The astronauts at ISS are going to be doing EVAs and it will be streamed live. NASA Television will begin coverage of the spacewalks at 6:10 a.m EDT. The EVAs are scheduled to last about 6:30 hrs. Dates of the EVAs are: 1) 21 of December - 7:10 a.m. (EDT) 2) 23 of December 3) 25 of December I believe the time will be all the same for all 3 days. For more info see: http://www.nasa.gov/content/expedition-38-ready-for-series-of-spacewalks-beginning-saturday/index.html#.UrTykvQwS-U Transmission will be held in this website: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html#.UrWMDPQwS-U
  25. Yep, I'm having the same problem also. Don't know if it's a conflict with a mod, since on Build 4 (0.22) it worked fine for me and I had the same mods that I have now.
