Talking of Minimus and rovers: My first kerbed rover mission ever, target minimus. Flip a rover? No problem! Badass Kerbals just headbutt them to the right side again!

How do you attach YOUR rover?

A small video of my kerbed rover connection tests: -
Finishing my kerbed rover and testing it on the launch platform: works awesome! just the normal problems. I think about adding "docking struts" for extra stiffness.... but I don't like to use addons!

Am I the only one who's creeped out by the Mun?

I always tend to forget those, but all my new designs have very bright lights attached ^^ -

Mün in the dark = really scary. I always flinch when I have to land on the dark side or if I drive around with my rover! :-S -
Hi everyone, thanks for reading Is it somehow possible to name ships which are made of several docked parts different? I noticed that if something undocks, it gets the sufix "Probe". Is it possible to change the sufix or the whole name of the undocked part? I got a an unkerbed Lander (Sparkle) with an attached Satellite (Rarity) and an attached rover (Dash), which I would love to name from the beginning and not every time after undocking. Same goes for my kerbed Lander (Flutters) with Satellite (Hummingway) and kerbed rover (Angel) Thank you for your help

I didn't whant to do it, but everything just worked out No calculations or addons or anything. I'm just lucky ^^ Rover driving is much nicer with high gravity!
-
did some more rover driving lessons: 10km without a problem, docking back on and returning to kerbin Only the probe was left in orbit because I wouldn't have had enough rcs for the docking process
-
After Seeing this I decided I need a lander with an detachable rover + a detachable orbitting probe so I can fly to a planet / moon, deploy the probe in orbit, land with the lander and zoom around with a rover. This is part of what came out: As you see I use an modified stock lander and a simple rover (thanks for the help in the rover thread ) and attached them with subassembly manager together. Improvements since the video: Light on the rover (I ALWAYS FORGETT LIGHT!) Probe with ion drive ontop of the lander with j-clamp Tests done so far: Orbitted with the whole thing, deployed the probe, landed back on kerbin with the lander, deployed the rover, zoomed around and attached it again! and then intentedly destructed the probe with the iondrive (crashing into kerbin) All tests very successfull! Next step is a real test on the mün. If everything works as planed, I'll improve my maned version of the lander with a manable rover + satelite EDIT: Did the Mün test and it worked: http://youtu.be/lP_DwbHHx-Q Last to do: Train rover driving (or built a more stable rover by widening it, but I like the design, just have to be more carefull downhills and with breaking and turning)

I have the same problem and would love to see a solution for this -
How to build a rover?
Leberschnitzel replied to Leberschnitzel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I think my problem is more a general building problem. For example this picture in the rover megathread: http://i.imgur.com/bkGnG9I.jpg how the hell do I fit those plates together to fitt that well? -

I like that Idea. It could work like leveling weapons in vanilla wow: You do a specific research more often, then you gain small experiences in that field and improve that way. I think both thinks combined would be nice: Research points for Hardware unlocks, the research itself with that hardware than increases the efficiency / useability of that hardware. I don't understand the statement, could you please be more specific in your mockery? -
Hi everyone, I think I got some design Problems or miss some functions of the Building part of KSP: When I try to build a Rover with rovemates, I am not able to stick them together except on 2 Points. How can you build nice Rovers with more than one of them? Is there some function to attache them everywhere or to make more connection Points? Thank you for your help EDIT: Thanks very much for your help guys! You can read how it worked for me in this post: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/29533-What-did-you-do-in-KSP-today?p=677793&viewfull=1#post677793

Am I the only one who doesnt use mechjeb?
Leberschnitzel replied to Odo's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
If I really need to have mods to reach the targets I set myself, I will propably do it anyway. But at the moment I'm fine and having fun, so that's perfect for any game and thanks for the copy information, I didn't know that. Could be handy to have it on a fast USB drive ^^ to the mechjeb and cheating thingy: If it is cheating I don't care anyway, since it is just a singleplayer game. If it would be multiplayer, I wouldn't like people who use it. But in a singleplayer game everyone should do what is most fun to them. -
I made a light for my Spacestation, since I tend to forgett lights on the stuff I want to dock on it. But I will destroy the spacestation (after evacuating my kerbs) and replace it with an updated design. This is the old one for now: With it's ion drive I should be able to break it enough to drop on kerbin, after the crew has been moved from Ponyhof 1 with the rescue capsul to either kerbin or the new station.

I don't use any addons, even the ones I think would be awesome ingame (improved navball, docking struts, lazor docking cam...) Since it is not released yet, I want to play it as it is intended by the developers to find bugs and problems which relate from the game or the design. I don't want addons to interfere with that, so I just use the plain game. Later, if it is released and some of the usefull addons aren't in the game from the start, I will possibly add them. An Autopilot would be nice, but if it is not in the game as part of a tech tree, I won't ever use it. Reason is: If I'm good at headshots it doesn't mean I can use a aimbot since I would hit anyway. -

Keep in mind that those where just suggestions. Getting an unmaned craft of any kind more than 2 feet of the ground could be enough to gain information for the need of a navball. I'm just so excited to see this new part of the game!
