...Except The Sims expansions were not DLC (there were only 6 expansions for The Sims - off by about 494 there) in any way, shape or form. Each added substantial amounts of content. I think you need to rethink your concept of 'DLC'.

KSP 64bits on Windows (this time, it's not a request)
Ravyne replied to Lilleman's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Here's a quick list of what seems to be working/not working for me, in the hopes of helping people tell at a glance what will work for this. (Working - Not Working (Effect/Reason)) Kerbal Alarm Clock Novapunch SCANsat LTech Orbital Science Dmagic Orbital Science Rover Science KSP Interstellar Kerbal Joint Reinforcement Mechjeb KW Rocketry Hot Rockets (For some reason, upon install all rocket effects/exhaust are invisible) RCS Sounds Chatterer Kerbal Attachment System --Will be edited in the future as I test more mods-- -
Expansions are one thing. Expansions imply substantial amounts of new content. DLC implies very little content and effort put into it. I wouldn't mind expansions. I would mind $7.99 for three parts.

None at all.

Interesting. Whenever the KSP process is up, my computer decides that every click is a left click. Can't click on tabs in Chrome either. -
Whenever you want to use it.

Naming scheme for your ships! (0.24 edition)
Ravyne replied to mangekyou-sama's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I have a serious thing for ordered naming systems, so here goes. I work on a tiered naming system. First is the range and area of the vehicle: Vehicle Operations on Kerbin: KV (Kerbin Vehicle) Vehicle Operations inside of Kerbin SOI: SRSV (Short Range Space Vehicle) Vehicle Operations outside of Kerbin SOI but closer than Jool: MRSV (Medium Range Space Vehicle) Vehicle Operations at Jool and beyond Jool: ERSV (Extreme Range Space Vehicle) Bases/Stations Within Kerbin SOI: PE (Proximal Establishment) Bases/Stations Outside Kerbin SOI: DE (Distant Establishment) Then the intended purpose of the vehicle: Scientific Operations: SCI Exploration Operations: EXP Utility Operations: UTL Testing Operations: TES Then the rank within a mission, (if it's being launched as part of a coordinated mission. If not, this doesn't exist) First ten missions: A-I though A-X Second ten missions: B-I though B-X And so on and so forth. And then a descriptive name based on the vehicle or its performance or whatever I come up with. For example, I have a very nimble and light plane series that is named 'KV EXP 'Feather'', and my current Mun station mission is 'PE SCI/UTIL A-IV 'Annoying''. -
I was mucking around with winged boosters and trying to make controllable ballistic missiles when...

Because that wouldn't be insanely annoying to see all the time.

I think what people miss continually is that someone can disagree (even vehemently) with someone else and still respect them. I, personally, respect the heck out of Squad for creating a game, and I know how hard it is. However, I still think this absolute 180 in policy with no transparency is kind of a bad move.

They've already got your money, they don't need to do anything else. They could turn it into a fantasy shoot-em-up if they wanted to at this point, and wouldn't have to answer to anything. Cash already changed hands, the deal is over, you get what they put out. Don't like it? Man, that really sucks. Oh well. I'm not saying this because I agree with Squad, but this is just how it is. A little dose of realism. Screaming and hollering isn't going to do anything; they've made it clear they either can't or won't listen or just don't care. This isn't a subscription game where people can stop paying; they've made their cash off of you and now they couldn't care less what you think.

And you have what proof it would 'safely' disintegrate in the atmosphere and not cause damage?

What irks you the most about movie space travel?
Ravyne replied to Tex's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Sound. Every time there's sound like lasers going pew pew and things blowing up with gigantic fireballs and vibrating explosions I die a little more inside. -
I find it funny that the idea that it's 'good publicity' is being hyperfocused on. We're launching junk. Debris. Crap. Useless nothing into space for a 'maybe' idea. Space junk is already a terrible problem without people firing derilict vehicles into orbit for giggles. I'm very sure the public would just think 'crazy millionaires' and go back to what they were doing.
-
Are you really comparing the widespread adoption of computers to launching a trashed bus into orbit? How is that even comparable? And what sort of benefit would this provide aside from pleasing a miniscule (in the bigger picture) group of people? Things aren't put into space for 'PR purposes', it's scientific and realistic things, not because a bunch of people tossed money at a private company to put trash up there. It's not 'discouragement', it's 'realism'.

What I can't believe is not that this was suggested, but that it flew so far. But it isn't going to happen, I'd stake my life on it. Sorry, folks. Probably got a chuckle out of some guy in the SpaceX offices before it got deleted, though.

Not only did it inspire me to learn more about astronomy, it inspired me to go into it as my major in college.

You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!
Ravyne replied to Mastodon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Mussed up the staging on a Mun flyby, so I decided to have an impromptu test of my abort system. And then, something happened I don't even know. Wat. -
Or you could play the single player game anyway you like, not conforming to the ideas of 'legitimacy' that others have.

I never allow losses. If a Kerbal would die or be irretrievably lost, I immediately reset.

Horizontal Surface Station Landing

That sounds excellent, and one of those solutions that you don't realize would work until you read about it and proceed to realize just how stupidly you were approaching the situation in the past. I'll give this a shot here in a bit. Actually it was the first portion of a HOME base I was attempting to set up on Eve before I establish Kethane operations. -
Been adding docking ports to my mod science vessels and setting up a comms network as well.
-
AMD A8 768MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 8550G 6 GB DDR3 Ram I'm...pretty sure that'd lag on mine too.

I started Kethane scanning on Kerbin and began preparations to do some test-landings for large Kethane bases on Kerbin. Basically a lot of practice, trying to wean myself off of using Mechjeb entirely.
