I would suggest installing infernal robotics, they have (hinges? I can tremeber what they call the little spinny things) that you could use for this, and you could just start the rotation instantly again after timewarping.

Well, I should have said this in the OP, but I like free roam-ish rpg games, some FPS games, and I might also try portal as was suggested. Also, however, I haven't tried to many different types of games. On the PC all I played was civilizations, minecraft, kerbal space program, and Lord of The Rings Online.

You might consider rocket assisted takeoff.
