I verified the file in the Steam library and Steam doesn´t find any errors, can I delete the game and redownload free? and can I save my "Saves" after the download?

the command pod appears in both list VAB and Research facilities, the problem is in the VAB i can´t select the pod, it says "Part model requires an Entry Purchase in the R&D". I think you might be right, there must be some kind of trouble with the file, but i don´t want to delete it, cause of my saves, can i download the game again? ( I bought it on Steam)

I have a problem, I try to start my career mode but i´m unable to select my command pod MK1!!
