  1. I'll see about converting the map of Kerbin into a map for that mod, might make an interesting side project. I'd ask what your thoughts were about having a New World sort of deal set up with a continent, but as Kerbin appears to be essentially a Pangaea that kind of rules that one out. EDIT: Which does, actually, raise an interesting thought. Kerbin isn't going to have any sort of Old World/New World divide going on in all likelihood. How would that affect their development?
  2. I know, I noticed. On the topic of potentially involving Civ 4 I saw a few pages back, what if we used this mod as the base for an attempt at that? It does already contain some features allowing for dynamic development of your nation's culture, identity, and specialties.
  3. This interests me a great deal. I'd need a bit of time to think of any ideas, but I'll definitely try to help make this thing happen.
  4. Nonsensical. To warp space to that extent you would need a large amount.
  5. Err... I think either you're seriously misunderstanding what I'm suggesting or I'm seriously misunderstanding the physics of the situation. To elaborate: If the exotic matter is negative mass (and it is, in the context of an Alcubierre drive) we don't need any sort of fancy device to lower a ship's effective mass with it. All you'd really need is a fuel tank full of the stuff. Dry weight, low positive value, full weight, large negative value. Of course then we get the potential problem of people building negative-mass ships and I kind of suspect that Kerbal would not react well to ships that weigh less than nothing.
  6. Granted, it probably is slightly OP. The problem is that it's also an entirely reasonable and fairly obvious application for the negative-mass exotic matter once it exists and you're able to generate it. Maybe it could be a post-Alcubierre drive tech, lumped together with the upgrade for the Alcubierre drives, if that would offset the insane utility even a little. I would also like to note that you would still have to expend a great deal of delta vee even with mass-reduction tech in place, you would just have a great deal more of it and a far higher TWR.
  7. Would it be possible, perhaps, to have some way to use the existing Exotic Matter (which I'm assuming is of the negative-mass variety) without the Alcubierre drive to simply make effectively weightless rockets? Would it be at all possible to implement something like that?
