Good PC for hardcore settings?
RikTelner replied to RikTelner's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
16GB is for applications. 6GB for OS. 10GB on RAMDisk for programs... because YOLO! No problem, I understand the 32-bit limitation. -
---now it's secret (just quit topic)--- Is this enough to run Kerbal Space Program with greatest/highest/"muchest" details and settings?
-
In Career mode, I've already sent 4 Kerbals on mission, whom 3 Bob, Jebediah and Bill, the one I like so much, they survived the launch, and are staying in command pod in different places on Kerbin, how to send them back to base? I don't want to kill them. And I see no option "end flight". Oh sorry, my fault, it's recover vessel, I got it. Sorry for bothering.
-
Thank you. I added it, but now I am busy with other things. Sirine, your design added aswell.
-
And the final question. Are you able to get on Mun with my original ship? To be able to answer myself: I am bad at making ships/I am bad at timing and controlling ships.
-
Thanks for update.
-
Well, there were... 4 rockets, each hold 4 tri-couplers that had 12-rockets, and each group of rockets held 4 bi-couplers, which results 8 rockets, and 2 solid rocket at each group. 12+8+2=22 rockets, 2 solid, 20 liquid. Picture shows 12 engines, so its almost 1.5 times more. 1,4545454545 times more, to be specific. Ah, wait, it shows the moment when you dropped another engines. Nevermind.
-
I am suprized, I had just 1.5 times more engines than you, and few more stages, yet your flies, thank you.
-
Thanks, I'll adjust it.
-
But do not overmod it, I would like to keep my part in ship too. I want you to fix it, do not start new one.
-
Actually please fix. Because when I am trying to fix it I am ******* it up, so if you could, could you fix it?
-
Thank you.

I crashed on the Mun already, I wanted to land on Mun using this homemade ship. With forever happy Jebediah, and his brothers Bob and Bill. http://www.speedyshare.com/njGTB/Crash-no-924.craft (Click on the name) Mission would succeed when I had actually one more Jumbo (orange) tank, but this could destroy the scale between active thrust and mass of the ship. Could somebody please download it, analyse it and eventually send me back with explaination why its bad? Thanks already.

RCS how does it work?

RCS how does it work?
RikTelner replied to RikTelner's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
So... RCS is kinda thing, that if I am not coming onto (for example) Mun with 90 degrees, but for example 140 degrees, it will help me stabilize to 90 degrees, so I can land easier? -
RCS how does it work?
RikTelner replied to RikTelner's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
@Awaras, can RCS be "told" which sideway to go (left, forward, back or on right), if yes, how? -
After reading -> http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Reaction_Control_System I am coming to answer that says that RCS and SAS are same, but RCS uses RCS fuel and the little thrusters, and SAS uses "keyboard" and wings. But I am 100% sure, that its not correct since no one would like to have RCS on board if SAS would be free. So, could someone explain me please, what happens if I activate RCS? With SAS, its just assistance with helping keeping rocket pointing to same point. And RCS?
-
Thank you.

Johnno, thank you, you answered a question without knowing what question is. Will ION engine be enough strong to take off from Mun?
-
Power source? I have solar panels, I think that it is a quite good enough source of power, at day, on 60m on Kerbin.

Clearer explaination of Navball
RikTelner replied to RikTelner's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thank you. How to change prefix to [Answered!]? -
Yes, I know this topic has been burned up billions of times. But yet. I am planning to make a probe send it around Kerbin, and then launch communicutron(?) with OKTO2 and manage eventually by disabling and enabling energy. But well, I had to try it on smaller scale, and it didn't worked. I placed OKTO2 on top, underneath it PB-X150, underneath it Z-500 battery, underneath PB-ION. And I didn't thought about fast speeds, but I expected ANY move (even tiniest would fulfill my needs). I clicked on Resources (up there) and I saw that energy and the Xenon gas being drawn, but it was enough to still give some powah. Something wrong I have done? Please don't tell me its bad idea, bad idea is my second name, just tell me what to do to make it move. Thanks already for answering or either reading, Rik.

Clearer explaination of Navball
RikTelner replied to RikTelner's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Well, you haven't fully read my topic post. I said: I repeat: "crash", not land. Offcourse I know that to land on Mun I need to make ellipses, but I am not dreaming about landing on Mun, I am just dreaming to be able to crash anywhere else as cause of impact (except on Kerbin) and without flying out of Kerbal (system?, Kerbin, Minimus and Mun). Thats the clue, I thought it was pointing to Mun. In such case summary of my question is, how to crash on Mun? Because Orbit map won't help, and purple marker doesn't point to it. -
Clearer explaination of Navball
RikTelner replied to RikTelner's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thats the point, I don't get other markers than green and orange, look I know how what it is in theorem, but how it does actually help me? How do I adjust it to my needs? -

I meant, the markers, I know the two greens and orange, but how to interpret the other, blue and purple?
