I put RCS on almost everything and it has saved me so many times in situations that have nothing to do with docking. Plus it's just plain convenient to be able to tweak my speed in any direction without having to rotate the entire ship. One time I even landed a satellite on Duna using only RCS even though it hadn't been designed for landing.

Grow up, seriously. You don't realize how tiresome it can be to spend a large portion of your free time working on something only to have a ton of people continuously bash you for no good reason. It completely drowns out all the people who do enjoy it and kills all your motivation to work on something that you were just doing for fun.

I only have icons for the current 32/64bit in my lets play folder. I do have a backup of 0.23.5 though.

Good news, season 2 of my Let's Play has started =D I've learned a lot since I first started LPing last year and I expect this season to get much further than the previous one. I went ahead and made a for the new season and I've updated the first post. The series will continue to be ~30 minute episodes releasing on Wednesdays and Sundays. This time around I'll be doing a bit more editing than I did before. Plus I'm hoping to get a new computer within a few months so my videos will hopefully make the jump to 1080p soon.

While an interesting plot line, the Asgard going extinct was completely unrealistic from a technological standpoint. It's kind of like how in Star Trek they have all that amazing medical technology but somehow haven't managed to find a cure/treatment for the cold. I also fail to see how a storyline in a tv show can prove anything, it's fiction.

In celebration of 0.24 coming out I have decided to end my current KSP save and start a season 2 of the lets play. I edited together this story/montage video as a season finale: It's a bit long because I included at least a few seconds of footage from each of the 59 previous episodes.

It does seem like the game should hold off on spawning them until you get a Kerbal into orbit on your own. The year deadline is pretty funny but makes sense given the current state of the game. If they ever add limitations like oxygen, water or food then they'll need to drastically cut down the time =p

I don't see much of a disadvantage to owning it on steam. You can still run it outside of steam by finding the exe and you can backup your installation folder if you want to keep old versions or whatever else you might want to do. So really the only difference right now is that Steam servers can handle the load better and will automatically update the game for you.

Maybe it would help if you linked to the blog you are talking about

I could see them maybe deciding to boost a few pieces of it into a more stable orbit but some parts of the ISS were sent up in the 90s and should really just be deorbited when the time comes. Better to take everything we have learned since 1998 and build a new one. Although I have to admit it would be really interesting if they turned some of the modules into makeshift space probes and pushed them out into solar orbit. I imagine it would end up costing more than launching an actual satellite though =p I also wonder how much fuel it would take to push some or all of it into a stable orbit around the moon. Not to be used as a space station but just to keep it intact to either become a museum decades from now or to be recycled for materials for a future moon station or base. Completely unrealistic but it would be cool.

What should be worked on after .24?
KaBob replied to skyace65's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
After spending a ridiculous amount of time driving across the surface of Kerbin I'm going to have to say a few rover improvements should be worked on next. Specifically, two tweakables need added to rover wheels. The first one would set a speed at which the wheels stop accelerating. The second would make it so the wheels automatically slow you down if you exceed the previous speed. Also maybe some general improvements to wheel physics, I don't even want to guess how many times my wheels got caught on an invisible "wall" and flipped my rover over. Also have parachutes not magically vanish the second you touch the ground. These are all the things that have bugged me this week =p -
Wormholes for interestellar travel
KaBob replied to tetryds's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
This is probably my least favorite idea for reaching other systems. Generation ships, near light speed travel and actual FTL all feel more realistic than using wormholes to reach other systems. If you're worried about balance, the engines could be extremely expensive to operate. That way you'd have to save up to afford enough fuel to reach another system and once you got there you'd be out of it and have to resort to normal engines until you could build up your colony. Also keep in mind that travelling to other systems, if it is added, will essentially be an end-game to KSP. The KSC has mastered all the science there is in their solar system and head out to the stars to explore new ones. It kind of cheapens the accomplishment if all you have to do is fly through a wormhole.
