  1. Feel free to add the old leaderboard to the current document and run parallel tests on that if you wish to do so. Would be nice to actually keep all asc related conversations and data in one place instead of splitting them up.
  2. A defeat for me, but I gotta say that I'm still quite satisfied with the Zircon, it didn't go down without a fight and that's what matters for me. The main flaw it has really is very poor capabilities in gunfighting , it simply can't manage to properly get those guns on target. I'll try resolving that for the next drone, not gonna bother upgrading the UT-7-B4. Damage mitigation on the PEGASys really is damn impressive though, even with only like half the parts its still perfectly capable of putting up a fight! Managing all that survivability with in fact a fairly low part count is even more impressive actually! I don't think the D7 will be leaving that number one spot behind real soon. On another note, I'll probably start running the DU-11 battles tonight, curious where that one will end up, given how closely it resembles the the D7. No worries, we've got time.
  3. First of all, give us a craft file and we'll see what's up with it. Have you tried running it against a plane that's for sure worse than it? Just to make sure it's not down to your craft simply not getting an opportunity to fire. Also, turrets?

Your aircraft still has a banned turret on top of it (the vulcan turret) you're only allowed to use the static variant of that gun, may I suggest just removing it instead of replacing it, you've already got 2 GAU-8s after all, which should be enough. Also, I see you've used Radar guided missiles without having an actual radome installed on your aircraft. This means that those missiles will never be fired and are simply dead weight, once again, I suggest just removing them, same thing goes for the radar data receiver, you're not receiving data from anywhere after all. Then last, there is a weapon called "unnamed" on your aircraft and I quite simply can't figure out where the hell it is.
  5. @Box of Stardustcasually foreshadowing the outcome of the next battle already, with the PEGASys already sitting on the #1 spot. Which pretty much is exactly what I expected to happen, the ease at which it happens is quite scary though, 2 rounds vs the SK-22-MK-2 is a very frightening number indeed, I can't imagine the Zircon put much in the way either, given how its victory over the SK-22 was already a fact of significant effort. I too have figured out just how effective it is to use your weaponry at extremely close ranges, first of all guns tend to be way more lethal because there's less room for them to miss, and missiles have got so much fewer air time that the opponent hardly has time to evade at all. I haven't gone as far as putting the side winder range under 2.5km though, mine are currently tuned at 3km with a gun range of around 750m. Seems like we're getting an entirely new meta right here and right now! I gotta say that I completely agree with you on the Kabuto though, it could be a great aircraft and it certainly does have potential, but right now it's just too hampered by its thrust and damage mitigation. With some redesign, I'm pretty sure it can become a fairly competitive aircraft. I've also noticed the change on the GAU which has become a whole lot less spammy in its accuracy, could indeed be interesting to try implementing it on new designs now. Last but not least, thank you very much for running and analyzing your own battles! Saves me some time and effort and it saves you the wait...
  6. I'll update the pegasys before continuing yes, thanks for mentioning it! I did indeed notice that friendly fire incident at the start of round 2, but since no damage was taken, I decided to just continue the battle anyway (a hint of damage mitigation 10 right there?). Taking extra ammo is always a hard choice since it adds quite a lot of weight to an aircraft, not much use either when the primary weapon system is missiles anyway. The SK-22 is indeed an excellent aircraft, I'm not entirely sure how the Zircon got its victory so smoothly over it tbh, none of the battles there has an actual missile problem in it since I just reran them if it did occur. I'm pretty sure the SK-22 will at some point rack up enough defensive victories to go for a reengagement, that would be interesting to see!

First battle of @Box of Stardust's PEGASys-D7, it faces the not very feared @Rocket_man1234's Viper-11, and the results aren't a surprise at all. battles: results: With the tier 1 leaderboard not filled in, I'm going to see for the next few battles and contestants which current tier 1 aircraft will drop down to tier 2, and which won't. Once the tier 2 leaderboard has also been filled, the standard rules will start applying. I can already for sure say that the Viper-11 is gonna go into the tier 2 leaderboard should it be defeated again, since its a completely different level of aircraft as the tier 1 top aircraft. The case for the Kabuto is not decided yet since I haven't seen it in action enough times to judge. The Zircon and SK-22 will not be dropped down to tier 2 should they be defeated enough times, they'll just be removed from the leaderboards instead.
  8. Yup, Sturmhauke is right, that turret on top is banned I'm afraid, just replace it with some vulcans or a some gaus and you'll be fine. I'm also not sure what armament you put under the wings, but it doesn't look very competitive

  10. Yeah it would seem that way, I honestly didn't expect the Kabuto to get erased in the way it did, it flew admirably and performed very well again the Vipers... Regardless though, good luck with the new design! If I can recommend anything it's looking at everyone else's plane here, but also at craft from the previous iteration of this challenge. @Box of Stardust, damn, that is one scary aircraft right there, I'm curious to see how it devours this board of aircraft! I'll definitely update the stats after testing and battles as I always do, no worries! Thanks for filling them in already though! Well, feel free to give us a link to whatever aircraft you've already got, and maybe we can take a look at it, try to either fix it, or point out what has to be fixed

  14. I'd actually prefer the second option. Not only would we have more time to submit and stuff, it would also put a whole lot less strain on you and Stratos. Judging other people's planes is something you definitely will get bored of after a while, so it's best to go with a way that spreads it out more evenly imo. Whatever does end up being chosen, I'm looking forward to it!
  15. And I have never experienced that... I don't actually think the stick missiles are a symptom of that since it only happens to your aircraft. And I've actually watched the side winder getting tangled up between the front canards, so I think it's just design based tbh
  16. Gotta say that the SK-22 was also quite prone to blowing itself up since the missiles would get stuck in the front canards. Had to rerun some battles a couple of times to prevent that from happening.
  17. It has happened, the fight has been fought! @hoioh's SK-22-MK-2 took on my own Zircon UT-7-B4, are you ready for the results? Battles: Results: Remove the NFE and we've got a deal, 4 mods outside of BDA indeed, which isn't the smallest number. Don't forget that some people might do their own battles, and it's not exactly nice if you have to download a load of extra mods just for fighting a single battle.

  19. Shorten the gun range did that trick for me, it uses the missiles for a longer time that way. Also, damn my Zircon for crashing into the ocean... It does that more often. Gonna have to go over the autopilot settings again one day
  20. Contract #007 Generation 5 Panzerknoef/Zircon Aerospace Zircon DEF-20 "Toba" The DEF-20 "Toba" is a prime generation 5 fighter, offering everything required at the lowest possible price. For this trade-off we have decided to let the Toba be a subsonic aircraft, but in return you get a whole range of nifty features! First and foremost there's the stealth capabilities, we've put a lot of effort into creating a solid and stable design with as many differently angled parts as possible, effect of this is dispersing radar beams so you can go undetected for a long amount of time. We've also chosen to go with an internal weapons bay. This choice allows us to create perfect radar shielding for all carried weaponry, once again adding to the stealth factor. The aircraft is also highly agile and quick to respond to input, making it a perfect platform to fly low over the surface, further avoiding radar detection. By default the weapons bay has been left empty (because stock weaponry is huge and doesn't easily fit inside, screenshots with bda weaponry though, which isn't included).   23. first of all, thanks for looking into it straight away, and secondly yes indeed, it wasn't directed at you :p the other plane uses 6 mods, which imo is just a bit too much...
