  1. In Career mode you need to unlock a node further down the tech tree (remote control or something like that?) in order to unlock more MechJeb features. Docking with MJ gobbles up RCS though.
  2. Couldn't you just take the stock cubic probe core, scale it waaaay up, and increase the weight?
  3. Considering that Squad made the mod API, made mods easy to install, and even runs the spaceport, I really think they DO believe that mods are good and can be used.
  4. I set up MechJeb rendezvous for my brother on a tiny spaceplane to get to a station. It worked so well that it crashed into the station at ~50m/s. *facepalm* MechJeb - too smart for your own good.
  5. My parents said they'd get me a joystick for Christmas, but now I have to pick one and get it online. I'm not sure which I should get, and I'd appreciate your input, fellow KSPers. I'm on a Mac (no idea if that is important or not). The joystick will be first and foremost for KSP, and I don't know if I'll use it for other games at all. I want something good quality that works well and that will last a while. Is the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro good? What about buying an Xbox controller and setting that up instead? Would that be a good idea or not (and does that even work on a Mac)? Thanks! TheAwer
  6. Clarification: the cargo bay .cfg needs more than just two lines added. The one .cfg creates three parts, so there are three PART{...} areas. You'll have to add the TechRequired and entryCost lines in each section. In general, the name for the TechRequired node is the full node name, with the first word lowercase and then the first letter of each following word capital. Like yourTechTreeNoteHere (note how the "y" in "your" is lowercase). You can also check the stock .cfgs to get the name.
  7. The Wolf Pack doesn't have techtree integration yet, you'll have to do that yourself.
  8. Thanks regex! Another question. I've downloaded Xamarin Studio, and it's saying I need the Mono framework. It links me to a page with two downloads - Mono MRE installer and Mono MDK installer. Which do I need? Just one or both?
  9. Can you please update this? Integration into the techtree would be fantastic. I've edited the parts into the techtree myself, but only one cargo bay appears. I especially love the cargo bays. And whatever happened with the Payload extender with docking port integrated in cargo bay? Suddenly, a wild Idea appeared! Procedural cargo bays? No idea how usable or codeable that would be. Still, an interesting idea...
  10. I love this! I'll contribute when I can get back to KSP. Can you drop four presents at once (but not attached) and have that count as 4? I also suggest not counting presents delivered at the KSC flat. And maybe more bonuses? Like +10 for on top of the control tower? +10 for at Easter eggs? +Rep!
  11. No. Stevincent is making them 64% of the real size (standard for realistic parts in KSP). I think they'll be 5.37 meter. This is what I remember from reading the thread, at least. Once he finishes them, there might be an easy config file edit to resize them that you could make.
  12. This sounds like a great tool! When will you alpha/beta/release it? Flying at night just got a LOT more exciting. Make sure that this is usable not just when landing, too. Some kind of futuristic 3D HUD in the cockpit would also be awesome.
  13. I've been inspired by the recent Hour of Code, and now I’d like to learn how to mod KSP. I know that this will not be anything easy, and that it will take time. However, I think my love of KSP and my interest in computers will keep me going. I have absolutely no programming experience (other than maybe an hour of the Codeacademy java course over a year ago). I have no idea where to start, and I don’t even know if I will have enough time to continue learning this stuff, but I do want to give this a try. Where do I start? Learn C#? Unity? the KSP API? Where do I learn about those things? What apps do I need? (I’m on a Mac) I’ve looked around and haven’t found anything for absolute newbie coding. And any ideas for first projects? Thanks! TheAwer MODS: I have no good idea of where this thread should go. Please move it if you think it should go somewhere else.
  14. This looks fantastic! Great progress! +Rep! (hint, hint)
  15. Thanks for the tips and info everyone! RepPower must be rounded up, because I have a power of 1 (And I'm sure that it's not that much). It looks like the rep give limit is 5 per 24 hours for me now, but it could be dynamic. If you go to Settings, you can see the Rep you've given (and maybe received too, but I don't know about that because I don't have any). TheAwer
  16. Wow. All of these missions are jawdropping and 110% astounding. Your computer must be a monster. You used a ton of mods too. How long did it take you to do the To Moho mission (IRL)? And you must have spent a lot of time posting it too. +Rep for pure awesomeness (when I can tomorrow).
  17. You should define "course of your landing" more clearly. Maybe it could be the engines that landed on or crashed into the planet? That may be difficult to track though. Great challenge though!
  18. This is not a problem. This is a gift. And pics please of this miracle?
  19. Agent86, you should put this in the Re-Design the Wheel contest http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/57515-Re-Design-the-Wheel
  20. Just out of curiosity, how does the rep power for Mods/Admins work? And what's the daily (or hourly?) max rep you can give? And I thought the rep icon was like a mine or something... it should definitely be clearer. And maybe also clarify the "Add to this user's reputation" info box that appears when you hover over it (if you can)? How exactly are we supposed to give Rep? It is supposed to be very valuable, and only given in rare and extraordinary cases? For example, just now I was +Reping good entries in challenges. Is it intended for that? Or is it more a thing where we +Rep only, say, fantastic crafts or similar? This can be a fantastic system if used properly though. EDIT: (If Mods and Admins have more Rep power) How are Mods/Admins supposed to use the Rep system? How should and do they give it out? That will answer most of my questions, and I'll try to adhere to the same principles.
  21. Fantastic ship and very impressive! I'm going to attempt to build something like that. What about putting jets instead of the rockets on the outer wings? Would that work better? Then you could save fuel on the way up.
  22. You could put one of the 2x2 plates on each end too, that might help.
  23. That monster is a fantastic idea. Do you have problems with electricity? Maybe you could stick some solar panaes beneath the steel. And amphibious too! TheAwer
