  1. Thanks. My name is showing (CAREER) after the title and Mode = 1, which are the same as the new test Career I started. So not sure what is going on.
  2. Save was definitely in Career mode previously.
  3. My .23 Career save is bugged in the update. Says that R&D facility is closed. Tried removing all mods but problem persists. Any solution like editing save file?
  4. I believe this happened in one of the KSP-TV playthroughs (Kofeyh?) of the ARM test build. Ship and asteroid both landed on Kerbin intact, but claw connection broke on impact, and asteroid rolled down the mountain, but was able to be 'recovered', iirc. EDIT. Link: http://www.twitch.tv/ksptv/b/514123003 around the 3:14:00 mark
  5. I don't think that the debate is really between a 100% common fixed solar system and and 100% random/procedurally generated system, different for all players. The ARM update shows the way towards a balance between keeping the current 'known' solar system as is for all players, and adding some element of the unknown and exploration with one or two extra procedurally-generated bodies outside the known system. This would allow players to learn all the core elements of the game from the community by having how-to guides, common reference materials on orbital mechanics, transfer windows, etc, but also give an opportunity in the late-game for unique player experiences with greater elements of risk and independent problem-solving, since no one would have gone to your particular generated 'new planet' before and uploaded simple instructions on exactly what you need to do to get there.
  6. +1 for tethers. I'm still a bit crap at orienting and using RCS controls for EVAs, but have improved enough that haven't lost a Kerbal to 'floating off in space' in a long while. For beginners, having a 100m tether as a 'safety net' would be very useful to learn EVA controls without fear of a Sanda Bullock moment. Curious about the parachute suggestion. I assume this means for individual Kerbal chutes (backpacks, or ejection-seat attached?). Would like this especially for spaceplanes. My landing method is either lots of chutes, or 'crashing as gently as possible'.
  7. Thanks so much, giving it a try now!
  8. Looks great, Umlüx. I'm trying something similar, but not sure if it is design or piloting that is limiting my escape from Kerbin atmosphere. Any chance of a .craft link so we could give yours a try?
  9. Mod may have been a bit quick in closing the earlier thread, as it had been re-tweeted by official KSP channel. Anyway, now confirmed as Dec 17. https://twitter.com/KerbalSpaceP/status/410882742449373186
  10. Yep, Shift-tab has borked me on more than one occasion with the combo throttle/Steam overlay. Am I smart enough to learn and re-map the keys? Nope.
