Ah okay, that might be it. Thanks for the help, I'll quickly revert to an older save and try changing the dish on my probe to an 88-88. Didn't really give much thought to the cone size before xD

Hey guys, sorry for the hassle but I'm having some trouble with getting a connection and I'm not sure why. Right now I have 4 satellites in a high orbit above Kerbin connected (through some satellites in a lower orbits) to the Command Centre, these 4 satellites each have a Reflectron KR-14 aimed towards a probe near Duna with a KR-14 as well. The Duna probe's KR-14 is aimed towards Kerbin, and each of the satellites orbiting Kerbin have their KR-14's set to Active Vessel. I thought this'd give a decent connection but... it didn't. So far I've tried setting the satellites KR-14's to target Duna (where it says that the beam covers 0 targets) and I set them to target the probe itself (says it's well within range and that the status is OK) but no dice. Here's an album which shows my network, excuse the mess, during the long trip to Duna some of the satellites went out of sync: Any ideas on what I've done wrong?

KSP Version: v1.0.2.830 Windows 64-bit What Happens: Landed on Mun, unlocked EVA Surface Sampling from the R&D building, went back to landed vessel and EVA'd Jeb. Everything was fine until he landed, then the screen went blank and UI writing went blank (altimeter background was still there). Went back to the Space Centre where the same thing happened but now only the skybox was visible. Restarted the game and the landed spacecraft, Jeb and the flag I planted had disappeared. Mods / Add-Ons: All Stock Steps to Replicate (assumed, haven't tried replicating): 1) Land on Mun (or probably any body). 2) Go back to Space Centre, unlock EVA Surface Sampling. 3) Go back to landed vessel. 4) Exit the vessel. Result: When Kerbal lands the UI/game becomes unusable, after restart the craft, kerbal and flag will have disappeared. No crash log as the game didn't 'crash' fully.

If your space program was a song, what would it be?

The song of every single one of my rockets until I actually get them to work xD -
What sort of budget do you have?

Research & Development Overview *Permanent Update Thread
RankWinner replied to Synapse86's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This is perfect, now I can plan and track what I've done much more easily. My only suggestion would be to add a "Export to" button to create spreadsheets or text files with the information. -
Different approach to rocket diameters
RankWinner replied to PDCWolf's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
That could be fixed by a new UI, imagine only one of each part but with a drop-down menu offering the different sizes (with a 'default' choice that can easily be changed). -
I don't know where you heard that, adding mods to the steam version is exactly the same as adding mods to the non-steam version, it's just a different directory. To find the directory of KSP on Steam you just right-click KSP in the steam Library, click Properties, Local Files and Browse Local Files. From there on you just follow the instructions (usually dropping things into the GameData folder) to add a mod.

What happened when you first landed on the Mun?
RankWinner replied to rhj91's topic in KSP1 Discussion
First time I landed was back in the good ol' days before we had, well, landing legs. I think I used fins as legs back then. Needless to say they broke off and everything ended horribly with me only having the capsule and a detached engine/fuel module. -
How to find anomalies? (Answerd... Sort of)
RankWinner replied to Tokay Gris's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Back before the terrain overhaul you'd do exactly what you said: go into a low orbit and look for them, the ones on the mun were easy-ish to see since they'd look like, well, anomalies, they'd sparkle slightly on the surface of the mun. I don't know how you'd find them when there's an atmosphere (I'd assume it'd be the same method, depending on how far away anomalies are rendered) or if the same method even works with the new terrain. -
MechJeb? Pfff, boring people. I managed to land near-ish to it (~40km) and I jetpacke'd all the way there.

=O I have a ship exactly like that one! Only difference is that it has a base made entirely made of a huge bank of SRB\'s to help it get to speed faster, need that extra early thrust while caring a payload up ;D
