    Bottle Rocketeer
  1. Anyone know where I can find some? I've searched curse and can't find anything. Looking for something that folds flush into the part it's attached to.
  2. When Squad decides to give us one of these super cool rocket packs, until then I'm not bothering, I like my rockets to look like rockets.
  3. Jebediah Springfield is the man who founded the town of Springfield in the Simpsons Universe, there have been a few episodes dedicated to his history. http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Jebediah_Springfeld
  4. I've built ships and landers for both Laythe and Vall, I did a dry run test without Kerbals first to see if I had enough dv to get to low orbit and then to see if my landers were capable of landing where I wanted and returning to the mothership with dv to spare. Does anyone else do dry runs or do you choose to fly by the seat of your pants?
  5. Mechanically it is possible, use docking ports on your rovers and fuel tank reserves. I suggest a tip, build your rovers and fuel base in the spaceplane hangar and save the vehicles to the subassembly. This way you can accurately place docking ports and get perfect wheel height so that all modules will fit together. When you want to launch them just add them to your lifter in the VAB.
  6. I'm currently on my first mission there and I'm sending "rescue" ships to refuel. My first wave of ships included a tug with a lander, a crew ship and a refuel ship. I miscalculated so the tug with the lander didn't have enough dv so I had to use the landers fuel to complete moho capture. Because of this I had to improvise and use all of the refuel ship fuel to fuel the lander, my crew ship is on fumes and needs fuel to get home. I've assembled a monster in orbit so that I can have a full orange tank by the time I get to moho.
  7. On his way with Bob, Bill and three scientists to Moho.
  8. Here's how I built it, I didn't quite understand your upper stage so I just put the assumed weight there instead. I managed to get this all the way to Mun. It becomes slightly unstable around 6000m but the instability is lost once the boosters are jettisoned, I think it's just a problem those boosters have, they cause all my ships to rotate and I never use them. Edit, a Mun flyby that is, if I had an engine on the upper stage I assume I could land it.
  9. I've often found that too many struts can be the cause of ship instability . I wouldn't strut the boosters to each other, nor would I strut the boosters to the upper stage, I'd suggest putting some cubic struts on the orange tank and string struts to the upper stage from there. I mean, once you lose the boosters there is very little holding the two stages together.
  10. I would try using regular docking ports, but if you insist on having the covered ones I'd move the 400EC batteries, you can probably just delete them, you have enough batt power with the 1K under the port.
  11. Try building a better SSTO with the Sabre engine, hopefully it's not disappointing in power.
  12. Looks like you have RCS thrusters or something inside the docking port, it's hard to tell, take a better picture in the sunlight so we can have a better look.
  13. Your steam playing time consists of more hours of KSP than the rest of your games combined. You plan massive Jool system explorations on your job downtime while waiting for guests.
  14. All manned missions outside of lower Kerbal orbit must have more than one man. All interplanetary missions have a Hitchhiker storage container either as a base on the planet or as part of the ship to make the journey and optimal aligment waiting more comfortable for my Kerbals.
