  1. A little help pls? I have never used a mod before! I DL'd the CKAN installer but don't find this Mod? Where do I put the command line Please?
  2. Would be nice on other things too. I can hardly ever read the docking distance when the ship in front is lit up. Keep having to spin cameras.

  4. Had a similar problem today. Docking port set as target but navball seemed to be indicating the stayputnik that sticks out of the side of my fuel station. Now after digging this post out with a search I'm off to get that Docking mod! Thanks.
  5. Its like 1 massive puzzle game. I knew nothing about space exploration so everything is problem solving. How to get into space. How to get into orbit. How to get to Mun. How to land on Mun. How to do it with enough fuel to return home again. How to dock. Etc etc. I really like the career mode. The sandbox was OK but I just built massive rockets. With career I've been forced to explore for the sake of science.
  6. I've just started visiting the further planets. My whole system is the stepping stone one. I'm launching refuelers and putting them in orbit around each planet in turn. Its not the most efficient in terms of delta-v but its a ton easier to get there and back with plenty of fuel.
  7. The docking port thing seems to be what I'm looking for. TY. Instead of a stage I think I could set up an action group. I'm also going to look at the welding plugin. I'm still not sure it will work that way but lowering part count can only be good. I've also just installed the brilliant rigid connections plugin. Makes the building of large multi stage rockets much easier.
  8. Is there some way to force parts to connect to each other? Today I tried to make a triple engine mid stage. So one tri-adapter upside down. 3 decouplers on it. 3 engines on those then another tri-adapter on top of the engines. For some reason 2 of the engines will not connect to the top tri-adapter. So when I fire the decouplers these 2 engines just fall off. I tried building the top stage then placing it on the decouplers. Only one engine then connects properly to the decouplers so I get a very unstable joint in my craft.
  9. Might hack the gravity. Thanks I'm very new at this. I just don't know what's wrong with the ladder. A similar ledge on other landers on other moons and planets has worked OK. I think the problem could be that I landed on a slight incline so the ladder is is tilted backwards ( if that makes sense) a tiny bit. I think this might be tricking the game into making Bob walk backwards at the top of the ladder and hence fall off. Hacking gravity might be cheating a little but its not like I'm doing it to escape Eve. I just want Bob back in the lander because there is an obvious glitch with ladders. I'm not sure I'd be accurate enough to send a rover. Eve is big. Has a lot of gravity and high and heavy atmosphere. 1 miscalculation and I could be Km's away with seas to cross.
  10. This drives me crazy. Today I wanted to remove 1 engine from a rocket and add a decoupler. Split craft, removed engine and added the decoupler. Replaced top section of craft. Completely ruined my staging. I thought that the staging for the section I had just moved out of the way would stay the same but adding the new decoupler seemed to send the staging into confusion. The only thing I find more frustrating is getting things to attach to radial decouplers!
  11. I did the multi ship thing. I think I could escape Eve. One problem after an EVA Bob keeps falling off the ladder. He just will not walk forward at the top of the ladder. So he cannot cross the ledge where the fuel tank joins the lander can. Jet pack is useless because of the Increased gravity.So annoyed! Hours of building, launching and docking down the pan because of a flipping ladder. Does anyone know a way of forcing Bob to walk at the top of the ladder?
