  1. I'm running the 64bit version on linux and havent found any issues yet compared with my winders game. In fact I started using mods in my linux game. Of course there may be stability issues if you are running odd hardware that your linux distro doesnt support. But that is purely an issue with the OS/Computer and not with KSP
  2. Nice set of tutorials. As a beginner just getting into docking, this helped get started with the basics.
  3. I'm surprised this thread hasn't been nuked yet. Of course I read through the whole thing and came out on the other end more confused than when I started.
  4. I can understand his lack if knowledge and trudging around through the game and experimenting as he went. But I kept getting distracted by his incessant booger picking on camera.
  5. For me, it was buggy in .22, and in .23 it stayed the same. For all intents and purposes it still scans the surface and writes to .csv, but everytime you go back to a satellite to continue scanning, the display on screen defaults to blank. It will continue to append to the .csv file, but it looks like you start completely over in the game itself. err...this was intended for isa mapsat
  6. Awesome tutorial. You almost have me wanting to start over my career mode and work my way back up the tech tree. But since I sorta did the grind method I'll pick up at Minmus/Duna.
  7. I think the science lab is a step in the right direction, but at what point will it get expensive to deploy a lab, store the data , and then reciver the lab back on Kerbal for proccessing the data at full value? I guess until there is an economy function, it's going to be a lot of fun to do it this way.
  8. I am with most in regards to using them on stages that may be effected during gravity turns etc... I started using them as soon as they were available in the tech tree in career mode. It mostly gives me and my Kerbals peace of mind during launches that the other won't explode beneath them.
  9. I guess if you maxed everythig out and you have unlocked/explored all the celestial bodies there weren't any great advances. I for one like the archives for the simple fact I am a bit OCD and want to max all science in every category. It's a good snapshot for future mission planning IMO. I looked at .23 as a good step in the right direction.
  10. Since I'm fairly new to the game as a whole. I am continuing with my career mode. I had to bring one lander back from the Mun to finish out all the science there. So, my first official new mission in .23 was send a probe out to Minmus with Mapsat on it. I was able to test out my rocket design (feasible) and also see if mapsat waw still working (still works). So all in all this was a pretty successful first day in the new release.
  11. If you arent saving the reports, you need an antenna and some way to recharge the batteries to transmit the reports. With that, you wont getthe full value for transmitting and a recovery seems to be the best option .
  12. I'm a little worried because I did lose Jebediah today . As a new player, I thought I had enough fuel to return from the Mun. Well, I accidentally sent him in a very large orbit and couldn't recover him with a rescue mission. On the lighter side, I have been an avid flight simmer and this game has completly taken over!
