Which Period Of A Career Game To You Enjoy The Most?
Champ replied to The Flying Kerbal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I love the beginning period for its restrictions in part count and total weight. Restrictions breed creativity- 35 replies

Kerbal Space Program suddenly became personal

My cat has watched me play KSP for enough time I think she would now be able to plan a Hohmann transfer ^^ -

What strategies do you us and why?
Champ replied to SmashBrown's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
On every carreer (i start a new carreer with every update), after my first strip to Duna, all science is done and i activate the strategy that maximise "world first" funds and field science and decreases contracts science and funds. Then i play a carreer where i can just ignore contracts. -
There is no "normal user". You can be a noob, or an expert

Capure in front or behind?
Champ replied to AaronLS's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
If you just want to orbit, behind or in front is the same in terms of dV. If you want to land, you want to capture in a prograde orbit, so it's behind. -
Totally wrong. Many countries landed on the moon. Soviets were the first to land on the moon. Chinese landed on the moon more recently. I think even the indian space program landed on the moon (or was it an impactor ?). By the way, i don't think using the imperial unit system helped in any way when the US did their manned landing on the moon.

Check that : - SAS turned on - You have electricity - You are in full control of the ship (if manned : pilot in a control pod, if unmanned : commnet link)

[Resolved] ship docked, cant transfer fuel
Champ replied to Champ's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I have done some investigations : it was the heatshield. I have made the same lander without the heatshield, and this one can transfer fuel with the station. Is there a way (a mod perhaps ?) to enable crossfeed through a heatshield ? -
Hi all ! My favourite mods have now all been updated, so i can now test 1.2.1. I've built a liitle lander. Brave ship has visited every biome on Minmus without refueling, then went in orbit around the mun and waited there until i built a refueling station. Then, i built a station (fuel and lab), put it in orbit around the mun, and docked the lander to the station. Problem : i apparently cant transfer fuel from the station to the lander. I have updated the R&D building to lvl 2 to enable ressource transfer, so the problem doesn't come from here. Strange : i can transfer LS ressources, but not fuel Screenshot : http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/144507446943458257/0890F4830311C4645D2A96A9CDA2F652F3E5EF33/ Edit : more info : Mods : KER, KAC, TAC LS, SCANSAT Every decoupler or docking port has crossfeed enabled. Is it possible that the problem comes from the heatshield just below the lander can ? Can transfer fuel between the different tanks on the lander, and between the different tanks on the station, but not between the station and the lander

Landing Gear explode when plane takes off
Champ replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
happened to me a lot. Most of the time, it is because you have too much weight on too little gear. To solve this, you can : A : make your ship lighter B : Change landing gear for more robust one (if you were using small landing gear, try medium or large landing gear) C : Stay with the same type of landing gear, but add more of them (each one of them will support less weight) Small landing gear are for very light crafts... really Oh... I forgot an option : D : "land" on water just after the runway... recovery cost is nearly the same (99% instead of 100%...). That's the option i choose more and more often (i suck at landing a plane). Just don't choose it for very big planes, they generally don't survive well (at least the planes I design). For big planes, use the very large landing gear and... try to improve your landing skills ^^
