  1. I run an Nvidia GTX660 (which should be roughly $200 i think, and has a max power usage of 140w) with an Intel i3 on a Corsair VS350, it's just fine, so your CX430 should be too. If you want some margin though, get the GTX750Ti, should be roughly $150, and is a very capable card, and uses just 60w of power
  2. My system is in flux at the moment, up to yesterday evening: Case: procase Noah mITX + 80w DC-DC PSU CPU: Intel celeron G1610 Mobo: Asrock H61M-ITX RAM: 2x2gb Kingston HyperX 1600 GPU: Intel HD Graphics Storage: 160gb 2.5" 5400RPM disc + 40gb Intel SSD OS: Xubuntu 13.10 Cost: €100 (everything but cpu mobo and 1 stick of ram salvaged from older rigs) Current update: Case: Coolermaster Elite 130 PSU: Corsair VS350 (currently in the mail, so i'm mid-build) GPU: Asus Geforce GT630 Cost €110 on top of the previous cost, pretty bad VFM comparatively, but the case/PSU opens the door to serious upgrading, i'm considering an i3/i5 and a Geforce GTX something or other somewhere down the line.
  3. This scene had me WTFing the most of the movie, the whole ISS/Hubble/Tiangong are in the same orbit within 100km of space thing at least somewhat obeys the law of physics, even if if defies common sense. Glad to see it all makes sense in the kerbal universe though
  4. You utter pufferfish, why'd you have to go and do that? It's not like i have more money to throw at hardware to play KSP.. Just kidding of course, i was very interested to see how intel's new atom handles KSP, and gaming in general. A few revisions down the line i'll be very happy to pick something like the T100 up, it will finally be what i wanted tablets to be when apple announced the ipad (i was sooooo disappointed it was arm/iOS instead of x86/OS-X)
  5. I'm not, but given that my celeron pulls off 60 FPS in any scene where kerbin isnt in view (1080p with everything low), i'm inclined to believe a GT630, and 640 especially will be significantly better. And honestly, i'm not finding a lot of data either way, this guy with his GT630 is the ONLY account i have of anyone playing with a card like this, here or on reddit, and whatever benchmarks i can find suggest the geforces are at least 5 times faster then my current GPU.
  6. That case is really not my thing, i tend to like understated and compact, like Fractal design and Antec. (looking at getting an Antec ISK-300 soon myself, a tiny little mITX case) As for the GPU, i think 4gb is overkill for pretty much any single card setup, unless you are looking at 290/780 level cards, saving a few bucks and getting a 2gb card makes more sense As for my query two pages ago, i found a guy on reddit who plays KSP on an overclocked GT630, at 1080p with full size textures and medium to high settings, and he pretty much gets a fluid 60fps everywhere. I'll probably get a GT640 myself to play it a bit safe though, that should be able to play KSP on high settings at 1080p 60 FPS, although AA might not be in the cards.
  7. I'll briefly introduce myself before asking all sorts of questions, i'm everyzig, 28 years old, been playing KSP for about a year, and i hang around the KSP subreddit quite a bit (same name) Now i started out playing KSP on my work-laptop, which i have had to turn in, since i switched employers. I've since constructed my own KSP rig, a tiny mini-itx computer made up off scraps from the attic (case, SSD), leftovers from upgrading my PS3 (HDD) and some fine parts supplied by the lowest bidder, in good kerbal traiditon (Asrock H61m-itx, Intel G1610, 2x2gb ddr3). Now i'm slowly getting more funds available for kerbal purposes, and i and itching to upgrade. CPU wise the celeron does OK (my launchers tend to be 200 parts MAX), but the integrated video is struggling with my 1080p screen, even at the lowest settings. So my question is, what kind of GPU would i need to run KSP at 1080p, high detail, full res textures and with some mild AA? To be blunt, i want an Nividia card (my rig runs linux, and recent encounters with AMDs linux drivers have convinced me to stay away), and if possible, i'd even want a low profile single slot card (as this allows me to keep my machine in a much smaller case, i have my eye on an Antec ISK-300, which is already larger then what i have now), but that would mean GT640 or lower, and i have no idea if that is powerfull enough. KSP is pretty much the only PC gaming i do, and my proposed upgrade would also include an i3 cpu, a new case and a new PSU, so anything more expensive then a GT650Ti is out of my budget Anyone have any experience with the GT630, GT640, GTX650 or GTX650Ti in KSP?
