No, I have a new computer. SPACEY R∃B00T While it's been a couple weeks since we finished the design of the Raptor 1, we took some time to create a 1:1 model of it and formally reveal it at the KSC. Elon himself went out and showed the new rocket off. Elon Kerman unveiling the Raptor 1 rocket. (SpaceY) As for what the whole rocket will look like: An artist's render of the Raptor 1 rocket. (SpaceY) The Raptor 1 is a very basic rocket, and it is meant to lift very small payloads to low Kerbin orbit. We are now offering launches for small payloads such as KubeSats, and small observation satellites. WE WILL NOT LAUNCH SPY SATELLITES. A test launch with a boilerplate satellite named RaptorSat is scheduled in approximately a few months, and we will post updates as well as a live webcast of the launch. Thank you. - the SpaceY team o7 Tasty 4K Wallpaper

Paler Blue Dot As Landon finishes his workday, analyzing some data that was collected, he drives back to the Kerbals' apartment. You could say, they were hooked on the screens. Gene was reading up on the space programs of Earth, Xander was playing KSP with heavy graphics modding and some part mods installing modules to a new space station, Jeb was playing Rocket League Platinum, Wernher was playing My Summer Rocket, and all the leaders of the main Kerbal countries were studying their mirror Earth countries. Landon: How's it going? Gene: Hey Landon. Landon: Are all the snacks there? Gene: Yes, we're full. Landon: Have you guys even used the HoloDisplay? Gene: Nah. We're on the portable displays. Landon: You found those? Gene: Yeah. There were barely any for all of us. Landon: I'll go check out what y'all are doing. Landon walks around, glancing at Jeb and then going to Wernher. Landon: Woah, how's that going? Wernher: My rocket cannot do zee launch. I will fix. Wernher checked every single pump in his K2 replica, and then saw a small hole in the fuel pump. Wernher: Let me fix. *whir whir* Done with zee fix. Now to launch. Landon: Hold on, I'll be going home, setting stuff up. Wernher: Will you watch zee launch? Landon: Of course. As Landon was going to the parking garage, he watched the launch, and sent a message to Wernher congratulating him. Soon, he drove to his comfy home in the suburbs of Cape City, Florida, and started setting up something special. From: Landon <landon@seti.org> To: The Twelve <various> Date: 6-30-84 Subject: IMPORTANT ---- I have scheduled an event for you all to participate in. You will take part in an AMA (Ask Me Anything). Please create your accounts on the 'Reddit' service. During this AMA, you will recieve many questions from a large crowd of people from all across the globe. It's tomorrow at 8:30 in the morning. Answer as many as you can. - Landon, that guy from SETI

Jeb's Junkyard and Spaceship Parts Co. Hello! This is Raymon Kerman, CEO of Jeb's Junkyard and Spaceship Parts Co. I have realized instead of contracting to the KSP, we could be better off creating our own space launch vehicles. Therefore we have begun development of a small orbital launch vehicle, codenamed 'Swift'. We have no finished renderings of the vehicle, but they will be here soon. This is all we have, and we project that we can launch the first test launch in quite a bit of time. Raymon Kerman CEO of Jeb's Junkyard Co. P.S. And no, Jeb doesn't work for us. He simply sponsors us.

Paler Blue Dot The car has just parked at the parking garage. Just moments later, the Kerbals and Landon board an elevator heading to their living quarters, all filled with the latest technologies (that they could afford). The living room, which the elevator leads to, has a two-sided HoloDisplay in the middle, with a couch and coffee table on one side, and a table with two chairs, used for snacking, on the other side. A fully windowed wall is on the snack table side, and the peninsula of the kitchen is on the other side. Kerbals: Woah! Landon: Snacks in the fridge, here's touch gloves for all of you. Gene: Touch gloves? Jeb: Yeah, what's that? Landon: You use them to interact with the HoloDisplay while not actually touching it. Koro Kerman, prime minister of Zakan: Hold on... What's that? Landon: Watch. He turns the HoloDisplay on. The Kerbals are gazing as he used his touch gloves to open up a few 'blocks', one displaying a news story from The Canaveral Post about a recent traffic jam that lasted for hours, another one displaying file footage of the Lagrange Space Station as viewed from an approaching spacecraft, and a different one displaying live stats of an English Premier League fixture between European giants Brentford and a rising minnow West Brom. Xander: S-So you have access to that much information with very little effort? Landon: Well, you have to look for it, but technically, yes. Xander: OK... So where are the snacks? Landon: *points to the kitchen* Over there. The Kerbals followed Landon to the kitchen, as he adjusted the stools to allow for the Kerbals to actually be able to dine on the kitchen's peninsula as they seated. The kitchen included a sensor-activated sink, a food hydrator, a refrigerator containing a surplus of snacks, a dishwasher, and all the other stuff you would find in a kitchen. Landon: *grabs tiny pizza out of fridge* Let me put this in the hydrator. *button* *button* *hum for 2 seconds* *ding* Landon: *carries mini pizza to Kerbals* Try it. Kerbals: *eat* *positive reactions* Landon: OK, I'm going to be gone for now, as I have to do my work. Bye guys! Kerbals: Bye!

Paler Blue Dot is back! Kerbals: WOOWWW! Landon: It's yuge, isn't it? I'll go and park this thing and I'll lead you to your living quarters. Gene: I wanna get in there already! Xander: Me too! Landon: Don't worry, these things go quick. We're getting there.

SpaceY Inc. - Raptor 9 v2.0 testing underway! (Submit a payload)
Kerbiter replied to Kerbiter's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
No. SpaceY NEXT Keynote Presentation by CEO Elon Kerman (Transcript) *applause* Elon: Hello, I am Elon Kerman. I am the CEO of SpaceY Incorporation which involves creating and flying rockets. Elon: The company has two divisions, the Orbital Division, which is the main division of the company, and the Suborbital Division, which I am having Jeff manage, he's doing great with the New Kerman vehicle and design is almost done. Elon: I am managing the Orbital Division and as the manager of the Division, as well as the CEO, I make most of the progress reports on our gridsite, host most of the press conferences, and manage most of the keynotes, which this one is our first. We have had complete success with Raptor 1, Raptor 9 v1.0, Raptor 9 v1.1, and we are developing as you might know Raptor 9 v2.0. Elon: However, we have one goal at this company. And that goal is Duna. Elon: We want to start colonization of Duna and we know it's a slippery slope. And we are developing a Raptor 9 derived launcher to be able to carry significant payloads to Duna. And that is Raptor Heavy. *applause* Elon: We are unveiling Raptor Heavy later today at this keynote. Elon: And... *applause* And the vehicle will not surpass the Mun rocket in terms of power and lifting capacity, but it will be one of the most powerful rockets ever built. And it will be reusable! *applause* Elon: I would like to have a countdown to announce Raptor Heavy. *countdown from 10, smoke machines, etc.* Elon: And here it is! *applause* Elon: Just by looking at it, you can see how it is simply powerful. This ejects so much thrust it beats over 10 of your average jumbo jet. *applause* Elon: We are planning to create landing pads at the KSC and we have reviewed the data from the R9R-Dev tests indicating positive results. Raptor Heavy will take a large team and hard work, but we hope we can do it. Thank you. *applause*- 118 replies

Project Ares: Alternate Earth History in Real Solar System
Kerbiter replied to Felbourn's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Here's stuff I've been drawing up: @Felbourn Apologies for the poor quality. I accidentally saved as a monochrome image, the quality of the MSPaint thing vanished, and the RCS units are almost invisible! But trust me, they are like on Dragon V2! -

Of course. That's why ground craft are recoverable using the 'recover flight' button. To allow for giving the refueling craft a fresh tank of fuel. -

Ahem... It's too Kerbal for humans. Honestly I'd have you just remove the drop tanks and make the core a little different. And I got plans for if Von Braun isn't found guilty of war crimes. It involves Pacific atolls and kerolox. -

What is this? Perun needs to lose its drop tanks! It's so ugly, I can't even look at it! I mean, you had to do one thing, create a super heavy lifter. But you made it look like this! Don't ever make your lifter look like that! Eventually you will create this: I know that's outrageous but... Just drop the drop tanks alright? Makes your lifter look a whole lot better. -
Zaltonic K-Prize Fly a suborbital vehicle capable of holding 3 kerbals to 70-120 km, return, then refly as soon as possible (as many times as you can). Scores determined by [cost + (altitude km - 70)] x (flights / average kerbin time between flights) Rules: No cheatsies, no autopilot. Any submission using parts mods (except Hullcam VDS) will be on a different leaderboard. Do not push the 'Recover Vessel' button, except for utility craft which help on the ground. No orbiting. Stock Leaderboard: Forum Name Craft Name Submission (Link) Score # Modded Leaderboard: Forum Name Craft Name Submission (Link) Parts Mods Used Score # Please submit entries! A 2 week time period (ending 01:00 PST September 12) to announce that you will submit to the challenge is set, a 1 week time period after will be set to allow for perfecting some designs.

I know this is really late but... After Wernher was outed from the space agency, shouldn't he probably... Create a company to launch into orbit and... reuse rockets?? -

Guid = 6e88b2fc-26b9-49ca-b46d-2d437cb8821e Name = I don't know and I don't care Latitude = -0.174 Longitude = -48.907 Height = 304 I want to see this as an equatorial launch site. If it isn't an equatorial launch site then use it as maybe a tracking station when satellites start popping up in geostationary orbits. -

SpaceY Inc. - Raptor 9 v2.0 testing underway! (Submit a payload)
Kerbiter replied to Kerbiter's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Looks like Raptor 9 Flight 3 (v2.0 flight 1) (KASS) is coming soon. I have not even designed the payload. That will come soon. Meanwhile, I will want to complete test flights of the Raptor 9 to work out issues with the interstage, and see how to get a clean separation. KASS will be based off CASSIOPE, and @adsii1970 should probably start working on the mission patch, and yes, the fairing will have a texture of something related to the payload on one side, but I need a flag on another sign. @ZooNamedGames should have a flag of the nation controlling KSC which I will apply. That's all. Cadaceus or whatever I'm keeping that in my mind as well.- 118 replies

SpaceY Inc. - Raptor 9 v2.0 testing underway! (Submit a payload)
Kerbiter replied to Kerbiter's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Soon. Hello. We have not done this in a long time. The reason is we have been busy refining the Raptor 9 v2.0 lifter. In fact, we have done lots of tests, including an R9R-Dev flight. R9R-Dev before liftoff. [SpaceY] Unlike the previous flight, this time R9R-Dev has a handy tool that allows us to make more precise landings; grid fins. Remember Raptor 9 Flight 2 and the controlled descent? Those were early development grid fins, and now we are debuting our flagship state of the art grid fins. Due to their shape they can work in hypersonic conditions and can easily be stowed. As such we are using them to reach our goal of rapid reusability. R9R-Dev lifts off on its second flight. [SpaceY] The grid fins did not harm any aerodynamic conditions while stowed. R9R-Dev soared to a height of 250m before deploying its grid fins for the very first time. R9R-Dev deploys its fins. [SpaceY] Then we went through a normal flight profile. R9R-Dev went for the landing. R9R-Dev descending with grid fins. [SpaceY] The grid fins absolutely helped, giving the vehicle more control. R9R-Dev landing with grid fins. [SpaceY] The vehicle absolutely nailed the landing. R9R-Dev just after landing with grid fins. [SpaceY] The grid fins were stowed before transportation into the Vertical Integration Facility for refitting into R9R-Dev+. R9R-Dev+ will have deploying landing legs on descent, three-engine ascent, no hover, and a complete 'hover-slam' landing burn. More on that soon. Here we have footage from a second stage test. The Raptor 9 second stage performing a full-duration static fire. [SpaceY] The Kiwi-D Vacuum engine went flawlessly through all the fuel. After cutoff, the satellite RCS thrusters were fired to bleed off the monopropellant. The Raptor 9 v2.0 second stage firing its RCS thrusters after a static fire test. [SpaceY] We also did a test with our first stage. The Raptor 9 v2.0 first stage before the test. [SpaceY] The 9 Kiwi-D engines fired for the first time in unison. The Raptor 9 v2.0 first stage during a full-duration test. [SpaceY] All fuel was went through and the stage fired through all the fuel. A close up view of the 9 Kiwi-D engines firing. [SpaceY] The engines cut off at a planned time. We also had the RCS thrusters fire to let go of the monopropellant. The Raptor 9 v2.0 first stage after a test. [SpaceY] We also did a fairing separation test, although we haven't got back images yet. All images presented here can be found in our SpaceY Media Collection. Keep submitting your payloads, and that is it for the progress report. - Elon Kerman, CEO of SpaceY and Nikola- 118 replies
