kony
Yeah, I know I'm asking for a weird thing and nobody really expects such a thing, but... since you love Linux so much that you even officially recommend it over Windows for your game...Any chances for native BSD (FreeBSD or PCBSD etc.) support? The market share is small (definitely smaller than GNU/Linux), but on the other hand you'd have the lead as there is literally no games for BSD operating systems (excluding obviously meh stuff)But you'd probably not get much money from it anyway. Still, I see you are the developers who don't put the money before everything else (why otherwise focus on Linux and continue working on a game, while most Early Access just cash in and release ....), hence why I'd like to ask if at least you consider it as a future possibility. Your game works in Wine, but I'm pretty sure you know how (un)reliable Wine is, especially for games
NWM
Men,There is a BSD-Linux compatibility layer (like wine) for almost each BSD-distro working quite a fine.
Van Disaster
My FreeBSD box appears to be able to run linux binaries natively, although as it's a server I've not tried X11 apps ( and there's never been a reason to do that either ). Can you get BSD GPU drivers?
NWM
The open drivers have BDS ports. The kerbal works fine with open drivers, the compatibly layer installed by default (and works fine), so I think the Kerbal Linux port can run in most BSD flawlessly without any extras... sal_vager
Out of interest, where is Linux officially recommended over Windows? If you're referring to a pop-up window in KSP, you have the compatibility checker addon installed. Also, as KSP is made with the Unity3D game engine it's only possible to support platforms that Unity3D supports, so if you want Unity games such as KSP on BSD, you need to ask the Unity3D developers for it.While I agree BSD needs more games, there's ways to run games on BSD, but asking Squad to add BSD support to an engine they don't make isn't going to get any results, sorry.
