Thought this awesome looking "trainer" style aircraft needed a render.

The Gullplane II designed by Zekes of the Zokesia Skunkworks (minus Kerbal pilot for now). Found here.

Nice! Only Duna should have more of a halo(atmosphere) effect to it. Other than that great!

Very true! Those shots are mostly uncomposited for the moment so they lack any real fog glow or glare.

The depth of field on this one makes it look like a tiny R/C plane.

I just started playing around with Blender and wanted to render one of my own ships that is made up entirely of mod parts. The textures came out a bit funky. Any suggestions for how to (in general) do better?

You've got collision meshes stuck inside your wings there. It's causing what's called "z-fighting", which you can sometimes see in-game.

You'll have to manually delete all of the unnecessary colliders.

Thanks! I'll take a look into that.

I saw this plane in Starwhip's thread here . Starwhip's stuff is flat out awesome so I hope you clicked that!!!! The plane itself was designed by noname117 and can be found here. I see myself melting down my processor rendering some of Nonames aircraft.....

Jeb and Bill take the NAFA-5-C1 Wailing Banshee for a spin high above Kerbin.

A swarm of Mouse IV's emerge from the wheat fields to confront two Maelstrom tanks.

Rendered for Zekes of the Zokesia Skunkworks.

Looks like someone took the grass essentials class. Nice work!

Here is a setup I did for testing the kethane parts. The heavy drill has some problems, at least, the last time I tried it, so it's not in this one.

I'm also working on a scene (currently rendering separate frames to check on focus, might have something tonight or tomorrow to show) that is made possible in part thanks to the SCANsat mod, and I have an idea for another scene as well, which I'll leave you in suspense because I'm not sure when I'll get around to working on it lol.

Sadly nope :(

For some reason it doesn't want to render the sides of the cockpits.

Also I have to get rid of those annoying reflectors and figure out how to get a proper background.

Fixing the flags on the cockpit is easy enough. I'll try to explain from memory what I did. It helps to have two windows in blender, one in 3d view, and the other in node editor view. In the 3d view, switch to texture or matieral view mode (Alt-Z will do fine). Right click on the flag until it is selected. Click on the material tab on the right, if there is a button that says "use nodes" click that, though I think it's already using nodes. If there are already three nodes there you will just need to click on the file folder button, and change the image that is listed to the one you want for your flag. I just navigated to my Gamedata folder where I have my flag saved. Then your flag should render not as a pink rectangle but as the flag you chose. :)

It's a bad angle, and smaller render, but you can see I have my flags on this one.

Wow! You did such a good job with that render of my NAFA. The background, the engine effects, and the kerbals just suit it so well! I especially like how you added the nose art. Very nice job! (I'd give you rep if the forums would let me).

Also, been a big fan of your renders in the past. Keep up your good work! (Also, is it possible to render aircraft with old parts?)

Ye gods, that background. Me needs to do that now.

I don't see why not, as long as you add a definition to it. I think I've got the older demo around somewhere, maybe. Might give it a try, when I finish my current project, and the next one I have an idea for. Of course by then someone else might beat me to it lol

Trying to get a passable Duna surface and I don't think I'm there yet. Threw the stock Skycrane and rover in for fun.

Now I just need to make or find an interesting stock rover for further surface testing renders.

Not bad though. Have you thought about using a heightmap of Duna? I'm going to try that, maybe with a bit of sculpting (which would be my first time doing that) to make some terrain for the Mun.

Ohh a nice two seater. Really like the car streamlined styling there. I think I'll get into some trouble with this one soon :)

Oh that would be perfect for an animation lol Cut it like the show where it stops mid jump and that announcer guy adds his banter.

<-- now tries to claw that song out of his head :D

You know, it would be a snap to change the hair colors on those Kerbals to match Bo and Luke.... no.. must ... resist....
