SHip disappeared in map view, then disappeared

I made a satellite that had also a docking port and a remote guidance unit.

Everything went fine unit I reached space and noticed that the satellite icon was missing from Mapview.

I continued to adjust the orbit for minmus, engines would fire etc.

The ship then disappeared. (no indication of a crash)

I went to the space centers tracking station, no evidence of ship or any debris, it simply disappeared.

I reloaded the KSP and the game, sat still gone, its as if the ship was never launched.

Your map may have probes set to not display, mouse over the top edge of the screen to see a drop-down selector for objects.

As for the craft disappearing, we'll need more information
