Nice renders! I see you're trying to use the magic wand to clear the black background away from the render. All you need to do is go to Render > Film and check "Transparent" so that your world background will be transparent instead of black.

Also make sure that the output is PNG RGBA.

I've also made a sample file just to show off displacement using a two render layer setup.

BLfqUFa.png

(animated PNG) (.blend)

The blend file also includes a smoke node group. To use it in your own renders, all you have to do is go to File > Append > displacement1.blend > NodeTree > Smoke, then place the group on the Volume section of the smoke domain's material.

As far as I know, the plugin only accepts stock craft. Maybe someday, possibly quite soon. :)

You could actually add in modded parts by editing the partdir table at line 29. In theory, it's very easy to do so: just add the part name and the path to the .mu file, escaping frontslashes with \\.

Yeah, I saw that. Would it be as simple as adding it into the array, or more complicated? (Asking Dasoccerguy)

I know you've already done my shuttle a LOT, but I was wondering if you can make a tribute of an old legend - my Tog II. It should still be game comparable. I would like an angled shot from slightly above and in front and to the left, sitting in a nice grass field, so you can see her well, and mabye the gun could be firing? I would do it myself but i don't know how to background :P

longbyte nailed it. You just have to do what SMA is doing here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/111483-KSPBlender-Blender-addon-for-importing-craft-files?p=1763096&viewfull=1#post1763096

You might also have to fiddle with the scale, in the right_scale dictionary. It's annoying, but some models are apparently imported and then scaled within KSP, and there's no way to know other than scaling it after import and seeing what looks right.

Very pretty render of my aircraft you did there! I like it quite a lot! The glazing on the cockpit looks pretty nice and seeing that plane in high quality is just amazing! Though I must ask, did you have to resize the delta wing on the tailfin?

Ye gods, a craft from Zekes that's under 1 MB? :P

Sure thing. (I don't know how to background either... should be interesting!)

I tried.... Something's off. I feel like it's the lighting or the proportion of the tank. I added slight shadow to under the guns and the rear and blurred the ground to look like trails.

I'm beginning to think both here. The picture looks like it is taken from about the height of a person's head. Which means that your P1000 is probably a couple feet taller than a person in that picture. You will have to position it to be farther back or have a picture taken more upwards in you want it to look realistic.

For this second part imagine a clock laid on the ground at the spot the picture is taken from so its 12 is facing straight down the middle of the picture. The sun in the picture seems to be somewhere to the 2 to 3 o-clock direction. Looks like the lighting on the P1000 is coming from the 4 to 5 o-clock direction, while its shadow is coming from more of the 1 or 1.5 o-clock. I would say the lighting could have a lot more consistency.

This is just my take on the image though.

Here you see a documentary about the TOG in its native environment (it's worth the watch).

I posted this on the Naval Battle Club (I guess I'll post it here:)

HOLY! You did it! You know, I've just watched a documentary about this on youtube from the History Channel a few months ago prior to my Maelstrom Tanks (Krupp was just a lowly automotive mechanical engineer to those who don't know)

I was looking for good inspiration guess you beat me to it. I decided to go with the Maelstrom design (heavy and amphibious) but still agile. But I knew someone would build this mostrosity and but I chose to build the Gustav Gun instead but I got too lazy so no work was done.

Now I feel like my Maelstrom tanks are the Sherman equivalents taking on Tiger Tanks which is in this case that abomination (and my Maelstroms are about the size of a regular Tiger Tank)

So I say I'm going to give you a rep this time.

If you are going to use that in Kerbal Powers fine. I left the development of my tanks stagnant for now because I'm busy on building something. It's a surprise for you too. (it's not that big but enough to be awesome, since you made the route to top secret vehicles during World War II I guess I'm there too and making good progress)

You see that tank could have worked in reality but it's just so immense that I don't think that it should be done in the first place. As I know the main problem of it was the land underneath it just crumbles so that it cannot really be driven with ease. But it will deliver the "Shock and Awe" to it's enemies (just like you did to me) Good for propaganda but highly impractical. It can easily be killed by planes overhead and a dedicated attack force. LoL even mines (specialized for that tank) could seriously cripple it if left unchecked.

There comes a point where making everything big is disastrous, there will be limitations because the smallest parts (Like the chain analogy) cannot support the whole. So basically you can only build large depending on your smallest components (May I ask you a question? when you drive that do the tires get flat from time to time or what? My Maelstroms do and they are lighter compared to that)

You need people for scale in the background (you know like infantry and troops scattered in the background doing their things)

If you look at it like that, nobody will have any idea of it's scale, it looks like a regular tank with two small turrets. Put some additional details that's "what's off" (other than the natural lighting, shadows etc.)

ILove your renders! WHile I fight Blender with a hammer, can you please render this thing for me? Haven't seen any VTOL aircraft here.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/e8h01y4j0lew6at/JigaBachi-02.craft?dl=0

You can remove the ladders if you want, and you can decide the other configurations.(Actually, removing the ladders in the model should be a good idea since they are wonky in Blender). You can get rid of the contents or the cargo bay if you want too. Thanks! Keep up the amazing work!

Also, can you perhaps show it hovering above some kind of ground(a battlefield or a helipad or a desert idk up to you).

It's called Jigabachi-02 , also you can associate me with Zokesia. Sampling quality-1000

It's not too big and part-intensive so shouldn't take long.

Could somebody please render this for me?

NEW CRAFT: STEALTH CARRIER (SUBMARINE CARRIER)

It carries two (2) hidden planes and two (2) stock missiles. The planes have their own armament set.

Notes: Before decoupling and launching the planes or missiles, the ship should be at full thrust but with the ship engines turned off.

1- Switch Plane RAPIER engines (Airbreathing or Closed Cycle)

2- Toggle Plane Engines (Turn on or off the Planes Engines)

3- Switch Ship RAPIER Engines (Airbreathing or Closed Cycle)

4- Toggle Ship Engines (Turn on or off the Ship Engines)

Craft File: http://www./download/zipy25ohqnzxk11/CARRIER+SUBMARINE+COPY.craft (750+ part count)

The Planes could be saved as a disassembly.
