You mean FOV ? Field Of View, How wide the scan is.

It is FOV, or the field of view of the sensor, measured in degree (I think. hope it is not radian). The higher the number, the wider the field that the sensor can scan, up to the best altitude measurement.

thx guys. So does it have any effect on the game? other then lets say the lower the number of Fov the longer it will take to scan the planet?

Yes, and a wider FoV will scan a broader path. Depending also on orbital altitude and inclination, it will affect how rapidly the sensor can scan the planet's surface.

tl;dr: if you happen to catch a resonance with your satellite, you are never going to map the whole planet.
