KSP and 3D Ripper DX

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I have no idea where to put this question, so I just post it here. :sealed:

How can I extract models and textures from KSP with 3D Ripper DX to Blender? I know it is possible, but I am just getting error messages. I have Windows 7 64bit with 12GB RAM.

The error message in detail is "Unable to write to C:\Program Files (x86)\3DRipperDX\proxy.ini".

Anything I'm doing wrong? The settings are standard, except for the Output directory and the capture keys.

I would be very happy if somebody could help me there! :)

"Run the program as administrator" is the single worst advice anyone could ever give (or take). If the program you're trying to run requires administrator access, because it does something that has been against the security rules for a decade and a half (for example, writing files in its program directory), then it's a program that is such a giant security risk that you shouldn't be running it.

I'm looking at you, KSP.

Smart people run KSP from outside Program Files.

Install your program somewhere else and it should run fine.

Edit: no, wait, "disable UAC" is the worst advice. "Run as administrator" is merely the second worst advice.
